Well looks like State poo the bed.

Knocking him out of the playoffs would feel...well

Dallas looking not so invincible right now. I think we could take them down. I would love for us to be the team to bounce them in the first round of the playoffs, even if we got knocked off the next game. fug Dallas.

I ignore half of what most folks post on here and skip over the rest if it's not something I care to participate in. So you'll have to forgive me if I'm not clued in to personal beefs between others on this board. I only read about a third of the threads in here anyway.

Then why did you quote me?

We do need to draft one for sure. I'm just saying none of these guys have a clue to which one this team should and will draft. That's what I'm saying.

You are cute when you're in your feels. Exaggerate much? Besides, what's your credentials for running a successful nfl franchise? And who said anything about not taking a chance? Carolina losing that game last night has really gotten you all butthurt about everything. Yeah I know it's just me yada yada.

You cannot listen to this board. Every flashy kid coming out is going to be a hall of famer if you listen to these goobers.

He will probably go to another team next year and have to start over in gaining that trust with his new teammates. Sometimes this issues just boil down to something as simple as trust.

Yeah an endorsement from Ryan Leaf is not going to help Sam's case.

Put it this way. If they lose to the Saints in either scenario then Tepper should just get rid of the lot of them. That's coaches and the players that quit on the team included. Clean the house baby!

MMQB: Breer on Wilks/potential OC candidate
Jon Snow replied to *FreeFua*'s topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think anyone is suggesting it should be a baseline. Had he been given the same opportunity to build the team his way, sure that's a different argument. My comments are about what he's been able to accomplish with someone else's mess. All the while not being able to have time to change anything other than the approach to practice and the games. All you can do is shuffle the players and staff around currently on the team. That takes some good coaching to turn that crap around. Whether you want to admit it or not, whether you agree with the approach or not, it is a fact that this team is playing above their weight class now that Wilks has taken over. That's the point I'm trying to make here. The results of this season will be part of his resume going forward. He is doing well enough to get some serious interviews for HC around the league. -
If by some miracle we do beat the bucs we will beat NO. I think we beat NO regardless. Reason being is that if we lose they will take it out on NO and kick their ass. If we win there's no way they let's the Saints keep them out of the playoffs, so they kick their asses. Either way the Saints are taking an L.

It's not only a division opponent but it's actually in essence the first playoff game for both teams. The winner will go on to host a home playoff game.

MMQB: Breer on Wilks/potential OC candidate
Jon Snow replied to *FreeFua*'s topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not involved in the hiring process nor do I set the criteria for choosing said candidates. My comments were on Wilks performance under the same conditions as his predecessor. I am not lobbying for any candidate one way or the other. -

Mistake? No. He will improve the competitiveness of this team. He's already done that in short order. Will it get us over the top to a SB? Who knows? You have to take a chance on someone. -

Correct. Just because you want to hire the guy doesn't mean he has to take the job. -
Yes they are limiting the offense. That is mostly do to 1). the effectiveness of the run game and 2). past limitations of our current qb. They are slowly working on number 2. If they had just stuck to fixing these 2 issues in the offseason and not bring in Mayfield to play that stupid qb competition bs who knows where this team would be. But we had to endure that crap to get rid of the biggest problem facing this team, Rhule.

That's all you are going to get at this point in the season. The only clue you may get in the offseason is how long they wait to do the interviews. If they are going after a coach on a team in the playoffs they will wait to interview them when the playoff rules allow it. If its Wilks you will know before the playoffs are over most likely. The coordinators will follow the same timeline if it's Wilks who gets the job, unless he stands pat with who he had now. -
It's probably closer to 70% of their chances for success in the nfl.
-
It's also important that they land on the right team that can develop them. Once they get in the nfl their college exploits do not matter anymore. They start from square one in this league. If they don't land in the right situation then their chances of success are almost nill.
