Panthers to Send 11 Representatives to Ohio St Pro Day
Jon Snow replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
They are treated like God's at those programs. They have it made man. Its not even close to that in the nfl until you make a name for themselves in the league. Here they are just another rookie hoping to make it in the big league. -

Me either. You just never know how these guys will react to the pressure that comes with the fame and money in the nfl. The college game doesn't prepare them for what is about to hit them. It does not suffer the weak spirited who fold when things get difficult. Young and Stroud have yet to face the kind of pressure they will see at this level. -

Can you not read? I said it's not about the 40. I do not care what his 40 time is. I'm more concerned he's not participating in all the measures. I have the same concerns with any of them skipping them. My concern is why? If they do not matter then why have these workouts in the first place? If I were interviewing for a job and my perspective employer handed me an application that every candidate has to fill out and I do not check every box, no matter how dumb I think it is, I guarantee I will not get the job. And it's not about his 40 time you goobers. I'm so glad you guys are not picking our qb. All you care about is if he can throw a perfect spiral into a bucket 60 yards away in practice. -

Yeah these guys didn't really seem to want to measure up against each other side by side. They skipped a lot of things. Kinda shows a mind set of they've arrived and they do not have to really put any effort forward. Doesn't give me confidence these guys have any dawg in them. -

Well I don't care if he can throw the ball at a spot in a workout. I care whether he is a leader and will put it all in the line for his teammates. I do not want timid guys trying to show this team how to be a leader. All of these guys can throw the football well enough. Now you want to know which of them have it in them to be the face of the franchise and handle all the responsibilities that come with that. -

Stroud? I didn't see it. I'm not sure Levis ran either. But its not about the 40. I look at whether they take part in every aspect and if not why. -

Who's we? You keep getting caught up in the measure and not the mentality. The idea that a prospect only has to do what he feels necessary is fine. But they are not just evaluated on the outcome of the exercise but also whether the choose to participate. It think it shows a lot about how they view themselves. I look into the psychological motivation and makeup. You don't want another Sam Darnold on your hands. You have an athletic marvel that panics under pressure. College tape goes out the window when they get to the nfl. And before you lose your mind I am not comparing him to Sam Darnold. -

I didn't blow that off. It is a major concern for me. It's one of the reasons I am concerned about him. I take notice to things like that. He has many concerns. -

Again, it doesn't matter if it's doing a perp walk. The point is he doesn't want to do it. -

Then let him prove it. Sounds scared to me. If he's afraid of injury in practice he's afraid in games. His footwork will show it. -

I do not want a guy leading our team that is always making a business decision on every snap. Hard pass for me. -
Panthers are taking Stroud, and Houston knows it
Jon Snow replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
My guess is Goodell will say Huston is now on the clock. Then look at the person who handed him the card and say try again. Or, he could say f*ck it and make the pick for us. -

It doesn't matter what the exercise is man. It's the fact that he wants to pick and choose what he wants to do. If his competition completes every measurement why would he not do it? What is he afraid of? If it's injury I would hate to see I'm in a game when the bullets fly. This league is not for the faint at heart. -

You don't get it. He is auditioning to be the face of the franchise and he's worried about pulling a hammy? -

Dude. If he gets injured during his pro day workout you damn sure do not want to draft the guy. The truth is he doesn't want anyone to know how slow he is. -

Actually it is surprising to me. Why wouldn't you as a prospect hoping to go 1st overall? -

I know the combine means nothing to the coaches. It does show their competitiveness and Young look scared.

The key word being may. Trading to 1 elements any scenarios where may is involved. They have their choice now and plenty of time to ensure that it's a fully informed choice. Whether it's the right one or it even works out is another thing entirely.

Bryce Young is no more of a sure fire thing than the others. The only thing he has on the others is more game tape and a team better suited to take advantage of his ability. That is not a sure fire thing to translate to the nfl. And being the smallest qb to ever be drafted does not ensure a long and successful career. All of them have concerns. Of the 4 top qb's to attend the combine only 1 qb took part every drill and every measurement. That guy wasn't afraid that he may look bad or inferior in some manner compared to his competition. Guess who that was? That guy shows courage and determination. Their actions or should I say inactions said more to me about these guys than how they threw the ball in shorts.
