  1. Yea I get what you’re saying. But I tend to look at prospects a different way, looking for specific traits rather than just how they played as a whole. In my mind, it helps weed out the “who they have around them” and “who they played against” factors. Fields hasn’t shown the ability to make reads and Wilson has better pass placement and range on his throws. Fields has been more limited. Doesn’t mean I don’t think Fields can make the reads and the throws, just means I haven’t seen it like I have with Wilson. and from your lips to God’s ears my friend. Watson is a best case scenario, pretty much regardless of the cost.
  2. Dline depth isn’t a hole. A hole is a starter. A hole is a glaring need, as far as I understand the word. TE isn’t a hole. Corner barely qualifies. Safety, maybe but Chinn and Burris is a fine combo to me. The only holes I see are a couple OL, corner kinda, MLB. And we have a fair amount of cap space to get FAs for those holes if we’re drafting a QB
  3. That’s fine, but based on my own watching of all the videos youtube has to offer, Wilson has skills that Fields just hasn’t shown yet. And a better arm and better throws. There isn’t really anything you can say Fields had an advantage in except size and the team he played for. In my opinion.
  4. But Bridgewater actually has been able to physically hold up to playing in the nfl outside of a freak catastrophic injury that wasn’t really due to his size or durability. His problem has been that he’s just not good.
  5. I would vomit all over my living room if we draft a gdmf LB at #8 with such an epic need for QB. Would have been like trading our #1 in ‘11 to trade down and take Marcell Darius and continuing to trot Jimmy Clausen out at QB
  6. Meh, we don’t have that many holes and a lot of cap space. It’s entirely believable the only four QBs worth considering in the first (imo) are gone by 8 and not getting a new starting QB either by draft or by trade (Watson) would be a tragedy and I don’t believe Tepper is willing to risk that happening. There’s a big gap between Wilson and Fields/Lance imo, so if we’re trading up I want to go big and get the best possibly attainable guy in the draft (though the realistic chance we can draft up for him is debatable, depending on what the Jets do for a QB and that #2 pick)
  7. Same. If we can’t get Watson for three firsts and a couple players, then I’d love to try to use two firsts (and a couple players if necessary) to move up for Wilson
  8. I got in my car after work and the nfl xm radio said “jj watt to car” on my screen and I was like “wut...” I was prepared to be excited about how nasty our dline would be but concerned about our cap space. Then they started talking about how he went to the Cardinals and I was like “phew” scared me for a minute there
  9. He deserves a fair shot. Last year was ridiculous. He was throwing to damiere Byrd and billy jo from down the street.
  10. Bonnefon had some really good runs. If he could just get those balance problems under control he could be a legit RB2 in my opinion. He does lose balance way too easily though.
  11. My money is on Roy, who look really good in limited play last year; Franklin, ditto; Bonnefon, in the unlikely scenario CMC is traded I see Bonnefon as the backup and taking on a lot more snaps as the year goes on and Davis starts slowing down (if last year is any indicator); and Miller, who is entering his second season and looked good at times his rookie year.
  12. I’m fine with that, trade up if need be but we gotta get our guy. Leaves some cap space open for FA. Either way comes with risk and cost. As long as we don’t sit on our ass and settle for scraps.
  13. Glad it’s Mel Kiper and not someone who should be taken seriously. This just about guarantees we won’t take Jones.
  14. Yea, I heard that mentioned on nfl xm radio this afternoon. I don’t have much of a problem with it, but Wilson needs a reality check. He’s not a superstar. He’s a very good QB that might not be so good elsewhere.
  15. Nah, I’d rather spend picks on trading up to 2 or 3 than trading for this diva that’s at or past the crest of his career. No way Rhule is giving him the power he so desperately craves either.
  16. Definitely had flashes his rookie year. Opting out shouldn’t be a factor, has nothing to do with “love for the game”, that’s stupid. Hope he can come back strong and keep progressing, could really bolster our LB corps
  17. If we get Watson before the decision is made, you can just about guarantee it’ll be us.
  18. If the speculation is true and we’re holding onto him as a potential part of the Watson trade, that’s probably worth the 9th or 10th round pick we might get in a trade for Bridgewater...
  19. Jameis has more talent and ability in his little toe and Bridgewater. I’ll take him and his stupid antics all day over watching another pass thrown by Bridgewater in electric blue. I’d be fine with Jameis as a backup backup option, with our eye on who we’re going to trade up for next year (Howell hopefully). Spend #8 on an OT in that scenario.
  20. That’s what I’m thinking. They are #2 and 3 in the draft. They can get Wilson if you’re the Jets or whichever they like better between Lance or Fields if the Dolphins seriously want to move on from Tua. And the Dolphins at least could get serious draft capital by trading Tua, surely a 2nd at least. Seems like it would be a better return on draft pick investment. Only way I see either of those teams getting in the Watson sweepstakes is if they’re completely underwhelmed by the #2-4 QB prospects, because if they’re relatively confident in one of them it would seem to be a better gamble to just draft that guy.
  21. “Some people took it as disrespectful”. Entirely insincere but whatever. That was the most important day in that kid’s life, but for Cam...it was Tuesday.
  22. Honestly, that trade wouldn’t be too bad. Only two firsts, and it solves the “too much money in WRs to resign Curtis” conundrum. We’d be left without a star RB, but we could resign Samuel this year and DJ next year. Still a very good WR pair. Draft a 3rd or 4th rd RB (or not and let Bonnefon have a shot at the backup gig), keep Davis as a stopgap starting RB.
  23. As long as it’s not Bridgewater and there’s a clear plan. I can’t take another season of Bridgewater.
  24. “QB coach at performance lab California” lol. Obviously thinks he knows a lot more than he does.
