    You can call it premature to make this comparison, but Burns and Reddick remind me a lot of when Indy had Mathis and Freeney. And then on top of that we have a great DT group and great players in the secondary. If we can find a way to keep Reddick, Fox and Jones as well as the studs we drafted this defense is going to be legendary.

    Yea that’s what I was seeing too. They just called it really strictly, but both teams got bit by the ticky tacky calls. The Saints just committed more reasonable penalties too. False start twice in a row usually means they’re scared of the dline lol

    Definitely seems like it. Reflects on the scheme. Raise your hand if you thought from the beginning that not only would Snow be a competent NFL DC, but the better of the two coordinators on the team.

    I think we beat the Cowboys and Cardinals. Maybe lose to Bills. Probably lose twice to Bucs but maybe win one thanks to divisional familiarity.

    I thought that last FG might make up for the missed xp, but those kickoffs are pitiful. Need someone that can get a touch back. Saints we’re starting on their 35+ after every kickoff

    One of those catches was heavily contested and a really good catch. He made the plays he had the opportunity to make today, can’t ask anything more from a guy. Like him way better than Bersin.

    The Saints were missing one really good player and a bunch of jags. If we lost Jaycee (or Chinn or whoever) and a few other jags I doubt our defense would crumble to nothing. I say we should take pride in this win, it was against a good team coached by one of the best coaches in the game.

    The Saints OL is way better than ours. We just have a much better DL than they do, or almost any team in the league for that matter. I’d probably give the Bucs the advantage. Maybe one or two other teams. Not many.

    It’s been about what I expected. Not very good and dependent on playcalling to mask deficiencies, but not nearly as bad as many doomsayers were screeching about before the season. Definitely needs improvement in the run game though.

    Takeaway front m the game for me: the offense is as good as the line allows it to be. That’s what’s holding them back. The defense is for real. This is a playoff team.

    It’s not like the Saints are missing good players other than Lattimore, so the short handed argument doesn’t hold water. Their best asset by far is the HC

    I do wish we had kept Butker, of course. Said it at the time.

    Gano was bad. He’s done better than what we’ve replaced him with but I’m still glad we cut him. He can be consistent on routine kicks but more times than not he choked when it mattered. I’d rather be looking for a better kicker than settling on an ok kicker. Better in the long term. I’m thinking we’re just going to have to draft one next year.
