  1. I think we net nothing because we’ll cut him and who cares where he’ll go because he won’t be our problem any more.
  2. What demonstrations? The Matt Stafford attempt? Not a bad idea. Being “within striking distance” of a rookie? If you mean Mac Jones (bleh) or Trask or someone then sure maybe. I’d rather have Darnold. The good four were going to be gone anyway since Jacksonville and the Jets are taking QBs themselves, I don’t believe SF is going to take Jones, that would be almost as bad as signing Teddy Bridgewater to be your starter. Atlanta is talking about trading back but it ain’t going to be with us. So that’s 1-4. I don’t want a QB that’s not one of those four. One of us is being willfully stupid, and it ain’t me. Only one of us is claiming a 23 year old QB who’s only played for the Jets could already be a verified bust.
  3. If you think a sixth and a future second and fourth is a haul, then there really is no reasoning with you.
  4. A lot of us actually did. I’m mildly optimistic about Darnold though.
  5. And the draft hasn’t happened yet...and it was looking like there weren’t going to be any in striking distance. If they actually are when the draft happens, nothing is stopping us from taking one. Better to have one too many QBs than one too few.
  6. Who did they bypass? The only option that’s bypassed at this point is deshaun watson
  7. Nobody’s career is staked on this. They didn’t spend much on a guy with high potential. His price tag was low enough that if the guy they actually wanted surprises them and is available in the draft they could still take him. A future second and some filler picks for a rental QB while the rookie sits and learns isn’t a bad model to follow. If the guy they wanted isn’t available, at least we’re not stuck with Teddy.
  8. I’m going with neither. Was looking more and more like QB wasn’t in the cards for us this draft. The four good ones are likely to be gone. The small price tag is worth the potential we’re getting in Darnold and if he ends up still sucking, hopefully we’ll be in position to get Howell or another top QB prospect next year.
  9. If by lateral you mean huge improvement. At his worst Darnold is better than Teddy. And one of them looked ok on a stacked team, the other has looked a little less than ok on one of the worst teams of the past three decades.
  10. Lol at whining about next year’s second. I’m not real big on Darnold but he’s young and no one succeeds on the Jets. If he’s good, then it’s a steal, if he’s bad then at least he’s still better than Bridgewater. And we didn’t give up much for him. Next year’s second ain’t that valuable
  11. Oh yea absolutely, I’m not saying I don’t think he can make the reads. Not at all. Just saying I haven’t seen it like I have with others. Would genuinely like to see it and would hope to be shown my error. There’s a lot I like about him and would be happy for us to get him either way.
  12. I’d love to see the video they’re looking at to make this assessment. I watched every single snap available on YouTube multiple times over and I saw him throw to a 2nd+ read exactly two times. I know YouTube isn’t a great source of intel, but it’s what I have available. I like Fields, I want to like him more. I’ll be thrilled if we’re able to draft him (but not quite as thrilled as if we got Wilson) but I’m just not seeing this evidence of making reads.
  13. This is my list for us. Jones wouldn’t be in the top 20.
  14. For me it goes: Lawrence Wilson Fields Lance Sewell Slater Pitts whoever is the top WR
  15. I want one of the top four QBs, by trade if necessary. I think they all are worth it. If it’s just not possible, top two OTs next. If those six are all gone by our #8, Pitts. If THATS the top seven....top WR I guess. Or third OT if they deem him worth it.
  16. Wow wish I could poo this more than once.
  17. Yea this isn’t even a question. OL without a doubt.
  18. Lol that was probably the funniest to me. All that decoration throughout the part of the house people would see, but dead on the inside where they actually watch the games.
  19. Lol that’s not far from me. If it weren’t for the Raiders stuff it’s actually not a bad place for the price.
  20. Teddy is who he is. He isn’t going to improve enough on what was already his best ever season to make us contenders. He’s horrible, and horrible was his best. Rolling with Teddy would be the worst possible move. Better to just go with Walker or Grier and put our full efforts into getting a real QB next year.
  21. We are, but not to give up that much to move up two spots. Especially not before the draft when who knows who will be available. Now say if one of the top four are there at six, I’d give next year’s 2nd to move up two spots to make sure someone else doesn’t move up and snatch him right before us.
  22. That’s entirely irrelevant to the point. The post had nothing to do with draft position. He was arguing that having a HOF QB isn’t that important to Super Bowls. The fact that the vast majority of Super Bowls in the past 20 years were won by HOF QBs destroys the point. The only non HOF winners I can think of are Eli, Flacco and Foles
  23. He’s still a HOF QB, and you were claiming that QBs aren’t that important, not anything about where they were drafted
  24. Lol this is a text from me to a Browns fan buddy of mine earlier today
