If I remember correctly Hoskins was looking good in preseason then hasn’t played all year. Was assuming he was injured -
Happy Thanksgiving! What Panthers related thanks are you giving?

Cam specifically, but thankful for a truly good young core of players. We add a few pieces and shake up the coaching staff I think we’ll be legit. -
Lol at anyone bringing up Cam. Just laugh tf out loud.

PFF is trash. But these grades aren’t surprising.
-
Yea Brady turned out to be a dud for sure.
-
I’ll never give Shula or Rivera credit for Cam’s achievements. But your point isn’t invalid, and I know. But that was all Cam heroics
-
No. Still worse than Brady

I think today pretty clearly defined our Achilles heel: power running teams. So I was thinking about who we have left and how it affects our chances at the playoffs. I know nobody wants to think about that right now after a loss and the board is all doom and gloom, but the truth of the matter is we have no more power run teams on our schedule. The closest thing to it is the Bucs, and they were always going to be a tough game anyway. The Bills are still obviously a better team too, but the fact of the matter is we still improved exponentially at the QB position and our defense is still elite against other types of offenses. I can’t see the Dolphins, Falcons or Saints having a chance against us (disclaimer: I obviously thought the same thing about the WFT) and the only teams we could possibly be facing in the playoffs that could give us troubles as far as power running goes is probably the Cowboys. If the offense can continue to get in synch and we pull off an upset or two in the three games vs the Bills and Bucs we could still squeak into the playoffs and make some noise against any team except probably the Cowboys. And we even played them tough with Darnold at QB. And by then we could have Horn back. Anything is possible, I never would have pegged the Bucs getting hot (and ref assistance) at the right time and winning last year. They didn’t look that good in the regular season. I still have a sliver of hope.

What an absolutely beautiful pass -

Our defense just isn’t cutting it today. Getting walked all over by the freaking WFT. There’s no excuses for this, the “always on the field” go-to doesn’t work today. -

How does this Cb situation play out going foward?
JawnyBlaze replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
I like DJax but as others have said he’ll probably want more money than he’s worth to us with all our talent at CB. He’s young and very good, which means he’s going to get the highest CB money ever. I’d rather our cap money go to Reddick, Moore, and signing OL (and Gilmore if he can be had for less). -
Well whatever was the source of your memory is, it’s wrong. Cam has never shied away from contact or made “business decisions”. One could argue he made the wrong decision in that case and at least that’s debatable, but he wasn’t going to get there before the defender anyway. His strategy would have worked if the ball came out like it often does.
-
And the sequence of events backed up his side of the story. He didn’t just meander out of the play like Teddy did. He hopped back and as soon as he saw it didn’t come out, he went down to try to get it
-
He said so himself after the game. He was playing the ball as if it was going to squirt out because he had no shot at the angle he was at to get to it first. You’re just remembering the media narrative that pushed the “didn’t dive on the ball” story because Cam has to be the villain.

2 Things I saw that seemed to go unnoticed.
JawnyBlaze replied to iamhubby1's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed, and it’s not like the ball died in the air, it’s just a matter of getting the timing and judgement right, and that’ll just take practice. That one throw, his first deep ball in a live game in at least 10 months, wasn’t overthrown by 5 yards like every single one of darnolds or flopping and quacking all the way through the air and forcing the receiver to stop and come back to it like every single one of teddy’s. Best deep pass we’ve had in two+ years. -
Not really. Cam didn’t make a business decision, he saw what was going on and knew he wouldn’t be first so he looked for it to squirt out. Already had defenders crashing on it before he had a shot. Cam woulda suplexed Slay
-
Yep, that’s Teddy alright. All he had to do was hip check him or something, he ran right by him. Shove him, something. Didn’t even need to make a risky tackle. Born loser.
