I really like these QB school videos, I’d much rather hear from a former pro QB who I trust actually watched the film (as opposed to Kurt Warner and Steve Young who obviously just peruse highlights and look at stats). Good stuff

Probability Analysis of the Burns and DJ decision
JawnyBlaze replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good work explaining what cooler heads have been saying. (Not that I expect the rabble rousers to accept this either) -
Or he gets targeted a lot and has to make the tackle

Is Burns really worth backing up a Brinks truck?
JawnyBlaze replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes -
So do the Browns of the past infinity years

Confirmed: Al Holcomb is not good at his job
JawnyBlaze replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wilks was the same when he was DC years ago. Got worse as the games went along. We have the players, just not the coaching. Across the board. -
brian burns shut out by a dogshit o-line yet again
JawnyBlaze replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s what I was noticing. All these clowns screaming about Burns and all the big runs have been to the opposite side. -
Thank god no Vilma and Albert today. Sanchez isn’t great but he’s ok.

Flutie, Russel Wilson (yea I know Wilson is thicker, maybe Young could bulk up some). Not many successes, but then again nothing has ever been done until it’s done the first time. There wasn’t much precedent for a linebacker Mills’ size being great until he was. I prefer Stroud but I’d be good with Young if that’s how the chips fall.

Trick question, don’t let the top two escape us. Trade up if we have to. There’s not a third QB I’m interested in, so in the interest of the OP, take BPA. No thanks to Levis, Hooker or any other QB. I’d rather give Corral a shot than spend a pick on any of the other QBs.

ProFootballFocus Mock Draft has Carolina Picking at 3 - Will Levis
JawnyBlaze replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
I liked Allen a lot that year, he was my favorite QB of that draft but we didn’t need one then. I don’t like Levis so far, I don’t see them as similar. -
2015 was the most fun I’ve ever had as a fan of sports. Moreso even than the Jordan era when I was a Bulls fan (Jordan fan) or any other team I’ve followed. But that coach and his staff completely f’d an incredible team and are 1000% the reason we weren’t 19-0 that year. I don’t want a coach that coaches like any of the old Panthers teams because we’ve pretty much always been coached by buffoons. Minus the early Fox years maybe.
-
That’s why I don’t want Wilks for next year. We don’t need to be the old Panthers, they never won a Super Bowl. We need a coach like we’ve never had before. A winner.

Yea I was joking. Allen was my favorite in his draft too, I just trust my own eyes and still prefer Stroud
-
Oof. Makes me rethink my desire for Stroud if Kiper likes him…
-
Oh absolutely, Robbie was a worse value than Kirk or any of these other new contracts, but it was also a lower investment. Kirk to me was worse because it was a bigger commitment.

Burns isn’t a liability against the run at all. He’s actually quite good against the run despite the rhetoric parroted on here. 30-45 is an extreme exaggeration, and the first rounders in question are 2 and 3 years down the road. If we had gotten offered two real first round picks (this year) then the deal probably would have had a chance. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush though, we couldn’t necessarily replace either with a first because that first could easily be a bust whereas Burns is a proven young commodity.

Sack numbers aren’t everything though. Reddick is only comparable to Burns in that one category, plus Burns is younger. Reddick will need to be replaced again in a couple years probably while Burns will be locked up and productive for longer. Just my opinion, and I liked Reddick, but he had less of an impact despite having a couple more sacks.
