QB School: Bryce Young - Week 1 @ Falcons
JawnyBlaze replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Mentioned a lot more good than bad. And wtf is the hate with Thielen. He didn’t even throw a hissy fit, threw his hands up and then moved on, it wasn’t prolonged or excessive. I’ve seen much worse, on film that JT was reviewing and he didn’t mention it. Weird hissy fit by JT. -
This really JC Horn's burner Twitter account though?

Case closed as far as I’m concerned. -
Some positive and critical thoughts on yesterdays game

You forgot Group C, which is probably the biggest group. “Wah I hate David Tepper. Wah I hate Scott Fitterer. Wah Reich was the wrong choice. Wah Young was the wrong choice. Wah I hate everything and we suck.” If it’s not the biggest group, it’s the most vocal. -

From what I recall (didn’t rewatch it) Bryce threw directly to the S. He just didn’t see him. That’s the one I put squarely on Bryce. The first one was partially Bryce and partially just a great play by the S. Very pleased overall by Bryce, especially after what we’ve endured the past few years. Stats might not show it, but you could see a huge difference between what he was doing and anyone we’ve had since Cam got injured. -

What magic can we pull to find a receiver?

What about that young guy we just grabbed from the Chiefs? I forget his name but he’s supposed to be quick and has potential. It was probably too soon to throw him into the lineup yesterday but once he has the offense down he could be our stretch the field guy. -
Defense has looked really good, Bryce has looked good, offense has moved the ball. OL looked good, one breakdown on a play doesn’t negate the whole game. Little things will get cleaned up.
-
It’s a one score game you whiney ass losers. Jfc. There’s a lot of good to take from this game even if we lose. Just gotta clean up those turnovers
-
First game on the road against a division opponent with rookie QB and new coaching staff? Sure winnable, but there are going to be kinks to work out. We’d be shutting them out if not for the turnovers. It’ll get cleaned up.

Ugh if Marshall hadn’t slowed down for a sec that’s have been 6

Gd Shaq sucks.

I see you Troy hill!

There’s been some doomsayers in this thread when we’ve looked good overall despite a negative on each side of the ball. Bad tackle on that Robinson td and bad playcall on 4th and 1. Defense has been stellar outside that one short field possession and offense has been moving the ball well overall. WRs and OL have looked really good overall in particular.

Great throw and catch on that third down
-
Wow that was obviously not a catch. You could definitely see the ball move.
-
Oh, on replay a little behind. Nvm
-
Oh come on Hurst catch that. Great play by Bryce.
-
***** Shaq with the weakest tackle attempt Ive seen in a while. Made Deion Sanders look like Dick Butkus.
-
Oh Burns doesn’t play the run! Shut the fug up
-
First drive, strip sack. Let’s go Burns!!

The past few years I’ve been seeing some OTs start their back pedal a full second before the ball is snapped and rarely get called for it. That’s not adjusting a back foot, they’re completely beginning their back pedal as if the play had started. That’s the one that annoys me for not getting called.

I would argue the team was lead by Rhule. Just like the years our offense was bad under Cam wasn’t because he’s not a great QB. There’s only so much that players can compensate for shitty leadership.
-
that the problem with over emphasizing stats in general, they don’t reflect the actual impact. Pass rushers do more than just get sacks. Just to name a couple other ways they impact, pressures lead to bad throws (incompletions and interceptions). Double teams lead to other players being able to make an impact. There’s a lot more to it than “they get a sack .028% of the time”. It’s also why DTs can command high salaries despite usually not getting much on the stat sheet, and why even ones who aren’t Donald are still extremely valuable and expensive despite not showing up on the stat sheet much.
