  1. My opinion on the whole RB class this year: we have the 1st tier pair Gurley and Gordon (round 1). The 2nd tier pair of Abdullah and Ajayi (round 2). Then the 3rd tier group of Johnson, Davis, Allen, Coleman, Yeldon and Langford (round 3+). All groupings ordered by my preference.
  2. I'd pick Johnson of the two. Also like what I've seen of Mike Davis, would put him higher than Allen.
  3. Called it. http://www.derp/2015/4/1/8320091/report-panthers-targeting-mariota-nfl-draft Even though it's an inferior site, not the Huddle, and it's talking about targeting rather than bringing him in for a workout I think I was close enough. edit: lol even links to that shitty site aren't allowed, not that I blame him. But you can get the gist just by what's in the post.
  4. Best guess for Huddle April Fool's Day prank: "Marcus Mariota brought in by Panthers for a workout".
  5. What a joke of a punishment. They might as well have made Blank sit in the corner at the annual meeting as the team's punishment.
  6. My main question to everyone except PrometheanRunner (because I already know the answer) is have you actually watched much video on Perriman? I have. His "dropsies" are a bit exaggerated. He has occasional lapses in concentration, like most WR prospects do. The difference is he isn't a body catcher. Most guys coming out with "hands problems" are because they ... don't catch with their hands. They try to body catch, or hop catch. He doesn't. Perriman is a true hands catcher. That makes a big difference. And I'm not trying to say I'm in love with the guy as a prospect, he has deficiencies, but it seems he's getting slammed here by people who aren't actually informed. I think he's worth our pick if the top 4 WRs (Cooper, White, Parker, Strong) are gone and WR is where BPA is at for Gettleman. Perriman is just a hair below Parker and Strong, in my opinion. Maybe neck and neck with Parker.
  7. Nope. He was getting hype before his Pro Day. He was considered a fringe 1st round from early in the draft season. He's being talked about MORE now for the same reason all the combine participants got talked about so much more after the combine. There is new information about him to talk about.
  8. I like Perriman, he doesn't have bad routes or hands. He is actually a hands catcher, unlike most WRs coming out of college. However, I'd probably go with Peat. A first good OT is more important than a second good WR.
  9. CJ's gonna retire soon? That's news to me. Isn't he like 28?
  10. Not bad. If we're going 2nd round RB I'd prefer Ameer Abdullah myself, but I wouldn't be mad about Coleman. The only pick I flat out disagree with is Conley. Dude has brick hands. Not lapses in concentration, not occasional dropsies, he seems to drop about everything that isn't a gimme. Just going off what I've seen of him, though. Haven't thoroughly researched him, I could be wrong.
  11. I'm not as wowed by Algholor as most here are, but I'd definitely take Perriman over Hardy. I LOVE Hardy...but not as a 1st round prospect. I'm hoping for him in the 3rd, but depending on our 1st round pick I might be ok with him in the 2nd. Hardy's got two physical limitations that are hard to overcome (but entirely possible), and that's why I wouldn't want to take the risk in the 1st. He's short and he's not especially fast. Those are two big hurdles. His hands, savvy, wiggle, route running, and hands are top notch though so I do believe he'll be successful. Achieving elite would be quite an accomplishment though.
  12. There's room on this squad for Perriman AND Hardy....
  13. If we gotta choose between Reaves and Tolbert I'd rather keep Tolbert. He's a capable receiver and he can throw blocks, in addition to grinding out the short yards better than Reaves could. I know the whole younger thing, but we got Fozzy and likely a RB added in the draft for the youth movement. I think Tolbert is still worth $1.4mil to us.
  14. As a refresher, here's probably the best site for checking out prospects for yourself instead of blindly listening to the prefabricated opinions of Kiper and the other media "scouts". http://draftbreakdown.com/players/breshad-perriman/ Main thing to take away from these videos, in my opinion, is how absolutely horrible Perriman's QB is. Pay attention to how many of the passes he catches that he has to contort his body around to make. He drops a couple he shouldn't, but I think his drop numbers are severely inflated by the quality of the passes thrown to him.
  15. holy poo that's fast for his size. I was interested in him in the 1st before today, now I'd definitely be happy with him in the 1st.
  16. With the Kraken gone, it's settled. TD is my next jersey. Second favorite Panther of all time.
  17. 3 WRs though? KB, Strong, Perriman, Hardy, Brown....youngest WR corps ever. Good though.
  18. Lol a few times? That draft would be crazy...... ....crazy awesome.
  19. His message was that the league is more important to him than the team.
  20. That looks like fun. I'd love to go. I'm even going to be on leave leading up to the draft. Too far, though.
  21. Don't think we'll be fine without him, as evidenced by our pathetic pass rush last year. If Hardy plays 5 or 6 more years like the past two years he will be a 1st ballot hall of famer. Having a motor that never stops, combined with his abilities in the pass rush AND the run are a very rare combination.
  22. It's possible. I haven't seen Gone Girl (no spoilers, though you've already kinda spoiled it ), but I could just as easily believe he'd value the huge financial hit he'd take by fighting it more than the principle of making sure she doesn't get away with her heinous actions.
  23. I was quite confident we'd get significant comp picks. Not surprised at all. Those are going to help a lot.
