  1. I don't like the pick but I'll trust the Don knows something I don't. I didn't like the Luke pick either. My biggest concern is wtf can we get at OT? There's been a run. Think Fisher is lasting to 57? Collins? No. Maybe Clemmings but I'm not a big fan. Maybe Donovan Smith. Still solid options at WR possible, but if Perriman is good enough for Newsome he's good enough for me. If tomorrow's pick isn't a WR or OT I'm going to start getting annoyed. This also means we probably won't get my favorite defensive prospect for us Preston Smith.
  2. With two picks to go before us, I'd be happy with Perriman or Humphries of who's left.
  3. OBJ's route running and hands are what makes him special. Smith doesn't have either. edit: not saying I wouldn't be ok with him in the 2nd, just that he's not really close to OBJ.
  4. After doing some of my own research, I wouldn't touch Peat with a 10 ft pole. Change that pick to Humphries and I'm good.
  5. As far as I can tell, I dunno if I'd put him on the right side. He's a little on the smaller side and typically you want the RT to be your road grader. But beyond that, I have no idea how he'd do at RT.

  7. I went back and watched breakdowns on Humphries. I'm sold. Was the second best looking OT that I looked at. This would be an amazing draft.
  8. Love it. I'm on the fence about Humphries, I really don't know enough about him. But I absolutely love picks 2-4. I'm on the fence about Drummond. Like Buck Allen. The rest I'm unfamiliar with. Overall: A+
  9. I like Ray Drew, DE, Georgia as a fallback option if we can't land Preston Smith. http://draftbreakdown.com/players/ray-drew/ edit: added link to watch breakdowns. Nothing from last year, but 3 games from 2013.
  10. Perriman went from being talked about as a late first or early second at latest BEFORE the combine, which he didn't post any numbers in, to mid first or late first at latest after running at his pro-day. That's nowhere near the the shooting up the board that happened with DHB. And the truth of the matter is, the biggest surprise about DHB's rise was that he went before Crabtree who was the consensus #1 and Crabtree turned out to not be any good either. That was a bad year for WRs, the only early one of note was Maclin and I don't think he was ever a contender for the top WR spot. So it wasn't that big of a mistake taking him before Crabtree. That year was just a crapshoot for WRs. Nevertheless, I pretty much always disagree with the late surges, and I think Perriman is the same prospect as when I watched breakdowns before the combine. Late first. Should be going to a playoff team. edit: And Perriman doesn't just have straight line speed, if you read the analysis or watch the breakdown videos you'll see he's got good change of direction and smooth moves for a guy his size. He's not twitchy, but he's not lumbering after turning either. Some guys get up to speed in a straight line fast but don't have the agility to change direction and keep going fast. That's not Perriman. He slows down a little more than a guy like Smitty or Brandin Cooks or OBJ would, but for his size his agility is very acceptable.
  11. Runners up in order: Gurley (if he checks out), Ogbuehi (if he checks out, Fisher if he doesn't and if Perriman actually had a shot of lasting til here he'd be the pick), and J. Hardy. Collins, Ogbuehi (same as above), and J. Hardy. Gurley, P. Smith, and J. Hardy.
  12. My favorite combo from that list would probably be Peat, P. Smith, J. Hardy.
  13. In 2012 our offense was ranked 12th, 16th in the passing game. That's slightly above average and exactly average, respectively. And that was with Chud going full retard on the option stuff. 2011 offense didn't last because Chud changed his strategy, leaning more heavily on the option. He did a poor job in 2012, but still not as bad as Shula. And even with Chud's infuriating overuse of the option, we were still slightly over average. The option didn't make Cam and the 2011 offensive success, Cam made the option succeed until Chud tried to make it all he did. In 2011 and 2012 Cam was one of the best deep throwers in the game. That's not option, that's standard QB plays. So I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.
  14. In 2011, his rookie year no less, he WAS the offense and he made Smitty better than he had been the previous two years. And we had a top 10 offense. Cam can be THE offense, but he can't be the offense in a Shula run offense. No one could. The offense in a Shula run offense is the defense.
  15. Chancellor + Sherman are easily more responsible for Seattle's success than Wilson. Throw in the fact you could probably pay the two of them plus Lynch for not much more than the cost of a new top 3 QB contract right now and the GM is absolutely right.
  16. Also, I'll be a little disappointed if we don't take advantage of what looks to be the best RB class I've ever seen. Rounds 3-5, somewhere in there we need to get a guy because they're the type of guys that would be drafted in the 2nd round in most years.
  17. Good video, always glad to listen to what you have to say. To be honest, I hadn't heard of any of the picks other than the first and last. I'd definitely be scratching my head if it went down like that.
  18. Yea the Saints got rid of their best player (yea I'd say at this point Graham is a better player than Brees) and numerous other contributors and added basically nothing but draft picks (not even particularly good ones either, second to last pick of the first being the only pick of note) and somehow they've improved their roster the most?! Only the 49ers in the entire league have digressed more than the Saints this offseason....
  19. yea but you have to know there's no way JR would let Gettleman draft a guy who admitted to pushing his gf down three flights of stairs if he wouldn't let him resign an elite DE whose only crime since joining the team was associating with a gold digger and getting hustled.
  20. Or it could be saying that if your #5 rated player is available at #20, he's far and away the BPA at that point and worth giving up some extra to go get.
  21. That's because, in my opinion anyway, there are no 1st round 4-3 DEs in this draft. But hey, anything's possible. Maybe he thinks Preston Smith really is worth a 1st...he's the closest thing.
  22. That's the one with Ray Liotta right? I remember seeing that when I was a kid and the scene where the guy falls from some platform and is impaled on a big wooden spike, I was eating a steak at the time and the special effects of the guy reminded me of the steak I was eating. I finished the steak, but felt bad about it. It was good though. I like steak.
  23. Kiper and McShay are both absolute garbage. Like I would honestly believe they decide who they're going to like before watching any film and then tailor their "analysis" to fit their preferences. Don't care for Jeremiah, and I feel like I shouldn't even mention him but Charles Davis is the worst at everything he does and this time of the year he tries his hand at draft analysis and it's no different. If Matt Millen and pretty much every Browns GM since 2008 were draft analysts, they'd be Kiper, McShay and Davis. I like Mayock, but I don't necessarily agree with him all or even most of the time. I think he's better than those I've already mentioned, but the thing I like about him is how he explains prospects and his willingness to have an open mind more than the other guys that are absolutely certain that they're always right. The guys I put more stock in are guys like Brandt and Cosell, but more in the interest of learning more of the specifics what the pros are looking for than for blind guidance. I prefer to watch what videos I can find and make up my own mind more than anything.
