I've got nothing against Bersin. I want him gone for one reason: takes away possibilities for more bad decisions by Shula. I don't fault Bersin for putting Bersin in bad situations. I fault Shula. Same reason I'd rather have Cotchery gone (flea flicker to Cotchery?!). It's about putting a team out there that Shula can't fug up, because that's the only way to field a good offense. Make it Shulaproof. Because if he can, he will fug it up.

"NFL will eventually take kicking out of the game" -Matt Prater
JawnyBlaze replied to JawnyBlaze's topic in Carolina Panthers
Getting rid of punting wouldn't eliminate onsides kicks...there's no such thing as an onsides punt. -
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/06/prater-thinks-nfl-will-eventually-take-kicking-out-of-the-game/ If they mean just punting, then I'd actually be ok with it. You get 4 downs to get a first down or it goes to the other team right there. Still need kicking for kickoffs and FGs, but taking punting out completely. Would ruffle the "old school" feathers, but I think it'd make the game more exciting in the long run.

I swear to God if I ever see Bersin back to field a punt again I'm turning the game off.

Who would you ideal super bowl opponent be?
JawnyBlaze replied to Mol3m4n's topic in Carolina Panthers
Patriots. Revenge. Gostkowski misses a last minute field goal to seal the Panthers win. -
"No debate" these QBs are better than Cam Newton
JawnyBlaze replied to SCP's topic in Carolina Panthers
Your "evidence" is circumstantial at best. Trying to use cherry picked stats is an "interesting" method as well. There is no better way to judge a performance than to watch it....I dunno how you expect to. Listen? Smell? -
"No debate" these QBs are better than Cam Newton
JawnyBlaze replied to SCP's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you want to use "stats" that are dependent on factors other than the o-line play, lets use the fact that Seattle has been toward the top of the league in rushing yards for the past few years, where Carolina has been upper middle class. How bout rushing TDs? Seattle #1, Carolina #21. Rushing plays for negative yards? Carolina 46, Seattle 41. Anyone can bend stats to fit their agenda. Bottom line, if you watch both O-lines and think Carolina's is better than Seattle's then you're not paying attention. Seattle's isn't great by any means, but the simple fact they weren't starting Bell and Chandler means they were better. -

Wilson....has a worse OL than Cam? Invalidates everything you said. -

QBs that are without a doubt better than Cam: Rodgers, Brady, P. Manning, Brees (though that's becoming debatable, I'd still put him there), Rivers. Big Ben can be made a case for. Luck can be made a case for, but a case could be made against just as easily. On par with Cam is Romo and maybe Ryan and Flacco. Cam is unquestionably better than Eli, Palmer, Cutler, Wilson, Stafford, Kap (lol at him even being mentioned). -
Maybe I'm just mistaken then.

I'm hoping for Stewart, CAP, Wegher as our RBs, Tolbert as our FB and Todman as our KR. If SOMEONE has to get cut from those 4, I'm looking at Todman. I think CAP and Wegher both have experience at returns, and KR is much less important than PR which is Ginn.

This x10. Houston has one responsibility, QB pressure. Watt does that as well or better than Houston AND has to defend the run. If I had to choose between Watt and Houston for my team, I'm taking Watt all day. If I had to choose between Watt and Houston + a late 1st round pick, I'm still taking Watt. This is the same argument that I use to say that Hardy is one of, if not THE, best 4-3 DE in the league. He's not a 1 trick pony. He does it all, QB pressure, run stopping, drops back into coverage on occasion, played gunner on STs at times. There are few players in the NFL as versatile as Hardy, and not just ABLE to do lots of things, he does them all very well (except maybe the coverage bit, but he does fine for a DE).

There's so much wrong with this I don't know where to begin. I won't even touch the paranthetical comment, because that would just turn into a back and forth argument that no one can prove. But their game/role are not similar. Cam is asked to BE the offense. Russell Wilson is asked not to get in Lynch's way and toss up a few prayers a game. One is Michael Jordan, the other is Steve Kerr.

He had "the same OL" at the beginning of the season, but that OL sucked. His being a better passer at the beginning of the season is even more of a testament to the point of his thread BECAUSE he was doing it with an even worse OL at the beginning of the season than what he had at the end.

Bruce Irvin, Seattle LB wants to play for ATL next yr
JawnyBlaze replied to Moorgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Lol they better trade him. Irvin hasn't been anywhere near good enough to get a contract and playing time that would get Seattle a decent comp pick. Maybe a 5th at best. -
He most certainly was, and if he had played all 16 games he would have had a real shot at breaking Moss' rookie WR record. Even with the missed games, I'd call his the second best rookie WR year ever.

How many true, lifelong Panthers fans are actually out there?
JawnyBlaze replied to SIGCHI222's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm 33 and was a Cowboys fan until the age of 12. It's a part of my life I try to forget. -
That's pretty much my attitude on it. I like OBJ well enough and I think he's a future superstar, wanted him in the draft last year. But I dislike everything Patriots more than I like OBJ, heh.

The Patriots see the Broncos' two Superbowls acquired through cheating and raise them two more.
