Awesome stuff. I’d take those stars away from all the 1st rd LBs cuz no ***** way we should spend a 1st on a LB but I dig the rankings and stuff overall. Great work.

Trey Lance - best QB of this draft not named Lawrence
JawnyBlaze replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
My hesitation has been that he’s never seemed to make post snap reads, going through progressions. I’ve seen every snap he’s taken on YouTube and I saw him throw to someone other than the first read like twice. The target always seemed predetermined. That’s just how a lotta colleges work. And that could mean absolutely nothing like with plenty of good NFL QBs, but it could also mean something. At the pro day jeremiah or whoever that was mentioned his quick eyes, and if that’s the case then there’s another question about his game partially answered. Or Jeremiah could have just been fluffing him up to have something to say. I swear the two most secure jobs in the world with no oversight or repercussions for being wrong are nfl “draft analyst” and nfl referee lol. I would be more than happy to get him at this point. -
Predictions for FA... then draft. By position

With you until the end. No more Bridgewater. Hell no. Absolutely not. Also, I think we will trade up if the first three go quick. It all depends on where that third QB is drafted. -
Trey Lance - best QB of this draft not named Lawrence
JawnyBlaze replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
They did mention that pre snap protection reads were his responsibility and that’s uncommon in college. That was a large part of what improved my opinion of him yesterday. That and watching the passes leap off his fingertips almost as well as Cam -
He’s not signing a vet min contract, and depending on how he felt about getting traded in the first place might not sign with us at all. But if we could get him at a decent rate, maybe 7mil or less a year, sure. He might not have been a legit pro bowler the last year with us but he was still good. Hell, bring back him and Norwell at mid range contracts if possible. 2nd rd LT-Norwell-paradis-Turner-Moton sounds good to me

Trey Lance on nfl network as if 12pm est
JawnyBlaze replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Watched the video, improved my outlook for him a little. Can’t affect it too much, just being a pro day, but I definitely liked what I saw. It’s still Wilson #2 for me, behind Lawrence, but Lance is 2b. I’d be good with him at 8 or with a trade up that costs no more than next year’s 1st (keeping this year’s 2nd and other picks) -
Fine with CMC’s restructure. Shaq’s sucks since he should be cut anyway. We can find any JAG to do what he does at a fraction of the cost. But at least cutting him next year isn’t too expensive.

Was the Gettleman's 2017 draft class the best in Panthers history?
JawnyBlaze replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d still give it to 01, but 17 is a close second. Doesn’t change that Gettleman had to go. He missed on so many other picks, especially 1st rd picks it really hurt us. -
The videos are pretty good. The guy has a bit of a victim mentality sometimes “you guys say this, you guys say that, I don’t get it, blah blah blah”. But other than that, pretty good. Says Jones is the most pro ready, but in regards to his ceiling it depends on if he gets a Tom Brady like chip on his shoulder. And sure, if that happens maybe he’ll be great. But I’m not interested in Jones at 8 at all. I also watched his Fields video. Pointed out a lot of the stuff I also saw, no reads at OSU (called OSU offense system trash lol), inaccurate at times, but a lot of good stuff as well. Before watching Jones and Lawrence he says his order is Lawrence, Wilson, Fields which is my order too.

David Tepper's Drip Implementation
JawnyBlaze replied to Panther Believer's topic in Carolina Panthers
It appeals to me and I’m almost 40. I have money to spend. Our silver helmets are and have always been stupid. We need to shift more to a two tone look rather than the three tone we’ve always had. Black and blue is so much better than black, blue and silver. Wish they’d completely do away with the silver. -
Richard Sherman thinks Mac Jones criticized unfairly

That’s what I came to say. Brees is quite mobile, he’s just not a runner or scrambler. -
Justin Fields: Closer Look/Why I think he could be the guy
JawnyBlaze replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wouldn’t be mad if we got Fields. I still prefer Wilson, but considering he’s probably going to the Jets or Texans at #2, I’d be happy with Fields after a trade up to 3 or 5. Give up next year’s first to do it. Maybe next year’s second if necessary too.- 58 replies

No it wouldn’t. It wasn’t a few more plays, it wouldn’t have required a whole new season and him playing like he’s never played in his career. Teddy isn’t going to be our QB next year and he simply isn’t and never will be a good QB

I’ve been here since around 07. Still quite a few oldheads around from before me, they just tend to get drowned out by the loud trolls and younger generation heh

I’m not sure which I prefer, Fields or Lance. Lance is more boom or bust. And I’m also not sure whether I’d prefer one of those two or trade a mid round pick for Darnold or something along those lines, draft well this year and prepare to be aggressive in the draft for a QB next year. I would be happy with pretty much any scenario that doesn’t include Bridgewater taking another snap for us. Except maybe Alex Smith. Not sure I’d be satisfied if we signed him.

Dan Snyder...what should they do with him
JawnyBlaze replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Boot his ass out. I mean, I’d love to see the WTFs (intentional) stay mired in mediocrity forever, especially while Rivera is there. But he is no bueno. Gotstago -
Nothing major here, just posting for his write-up

Olsen joining Davis in return and retirement
JawnyBlaze replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not that I think he’s done and I’d love to see him get back to form with a more normal off season and some actual NFL talent around him, but if Cam were thinking maybe it’s time to give his body a rest and sit at home counting his millions, it would be epic if he joined them on March 11. Three of the main architects of what success we had for a decade -

That’s awesome! -
I didn’t see a mock draft but that would have me furious

Honestly I wouldn’t mind sending them a 3rd or 4th, use this year’s first on a stud LT (or maaaaybe Pitts) or trade down to build ammo to move up next year if Darnold is irredeemable.

I also like the more casual tone of the write ups, with some humor injected (eg. Lawrence’s pro comparison)
