PJ had a great drive. Hope he keeps it up

Finally a good throw by PJ
-
One of the most ridiculous things you’ve posted, and that’s saying something. PJ is all over the place, throwing terrible uncatchable passes
-
LUVU!
-
That was a bad pass. Behind and low

Eh, Marv sounded fine to me. Kenny sounds like he has something stuck in his throat always
-
Wow what a pick by djax!
-
Ugh I’m tired of Kenny albert’s stupid voice and Vilma’s corny ass comments

The Bengals would disagree with you. From #1 pick taking a QB, that QB missing a third of his rookie year because of injury, to the Super Bowl his first full year playing.

Thanks for your perspective, good to hear from someone who presumably watches all the games. I think Harrison looks good, but not like what I saw from Olave when I was researching Fields. The Iowa game was the first time the OL stuck out to me one way or the other, so I defer to your observations. But in that Iowa game they were atrocious, undisciplined, blowing assignments, just sloppy and all over the place.

REPORT: Panthers highly unlikely to trade DJ Moore
JawnyBlaze replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
No kidding we’re not going to trade him. We’re going to give our shiny new QB next year Terrace Marshall and Shi Smith? Roll the dice on a 2+ rd rookie? Nfw -
The worst possible scenario is we win a few more games this year, miss out on our choice of QB and Wilks is given credit for turning the team around and given the full time job then turns out to be another Rivera. A mediocre coach that will either be terrible without an elite QB or will hold an elite QB and team back from going all the way. I like Wilks but even if we win half of our games left this year that doesn’t automatically mean he’s a good coach all of a sudden. So if I had to choose, it’s “tank” so our future has more potential than PJ Walker and Wilks.

It’s absolutely lazy. There’s not much similar between Fields and Stroud other than where they attend/ed the same college. Comparing them is lazy. Just looking at numbers is lazy. If you watch them play it’s pretty readily apparent their games aren’t similar at all. Fields was a strong arm, one read, athletic QB. He could still be good in the NFL, but he has a lot more to learn than Stroud will. Stroud had a strong enough arm, probably less strong than Fields, but great accuracy and touch and he throws well on the run to either direction too. Stroud makes full field reads, goes through all his progressions when needed. He also processes quicker (I won’t call him elite at processing speed, but very good and better than most QBs I’ve seen come out the past few years). He’s shifty in the pocket but not a runner like Fields. They’re totally different QBs. Besides, the talent around his this year doesn’t seem leaps and bounds above the other teams like last year and past years. Harrison Jr and Smith-something are solid but don’t scream high picks to me like Olave and Wilson, their RB seems ok and their OL seems below average. They were ***** up all over the place vs Iowa. When I watched Fields videos a couple years ago I kept coming away from videos saying “man, that Olave kid looks really good”, not “Fields looks really good.” And I don’t follow college football beyond scouting potential Panthers, so I didn’t know anything about Olave at all before watching Fields videos. I watch Stroud videos and over and over it’s “man he put that right on the money for his WR to make a play”.

Yea Fields was better at running, Stroud is quick within the pocket and good at evading the rush but he’s not going to get many rushing yards. Fields was much better at that
-
There’s no comparison with Fields beyond the same school. Stroud throws a better ball and Fields was a one read QB. Stroud is the total package.

What’s your 2023 QB big board (including Corral)
JawnyBlaze replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nah, many (me included) said Fields was a product of the system and didn’t make reads much in college which wouldn’t translate. He also didn’t throw as well or accurate as Stroud. Many didn’t want us to draft Fields, it’s just the ones that did got loud about it especially once Baker didn’t work out. -

Now THIS Is A Professional Offensive Line
JawnyBlaze replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
The offensive line, which is what this thread is about, has been good all year. -
“Burns is similar to Ramsey and Fitzpatrick, and he’s only 24. Good luck getting him.” Some people around here need to pay attention to that last line. Burns is a great player who’s going to be expensive when the time comes and he’s worth it. You don’t trade away premier pass rushers who don’t want to go anywhere.

If we win a playoff game? Sure, give him a consideration. Six or seven more wins? Nah, for that I’d rather get an offensive minded HC, higher potential. Six or seven more wins with this team would be an accomplishment no doubt, but not impressive enough to make me believe he could turn the team into a consistent winner. Worst thing that could happen is we get a franchise QB in the draft and hire a Rivera-like HC that handicaps the potential of the team.

Burns, Brown and Icky look like strong candidates with the only thing maybe holding them back being the good team bias. Horn and Hekker are also decent bets. Possibly Woods
-
Yep, if that’s what it takes. Good edge rushers don’t grow on trees. We let him walk who knows when we’ll get another one. We won’t reproduce his production in FA for cheaper unless we get super lucky and find someone who was just “misused” on their previous team or strike gold on a draft selection. The good DEs tend to go really high.
