  1. I’m absolutely considering the cap and the only bad contract we have is Shaq (and Anderson but he’s gone anyway). No one is trading for him. DJ’s contract is a steal since Hill and Kirk and those guys blew up the WR market. The cap can be managed. You can’t just throw away good players because you’re afraid of the cap. We absolutely can sign Burns and then later Brown and Chinn. The cap killer is the QB and we won’t have to pay big QB money for a while.
  2. A good WR, a good LB, a great secondary, a really good DT and another good DT. Pretty much most of the team except QB and TE.
  3. The cap can be worked without giving away your good young players at a loss in value. The Giants were terrible with a terrible QB last year. They look pretty competitive to me. Bengals went from #1 overall to in the Super Bowl. We get the right coach and QB combo, there’s no waiting period on how fast we can be competitive. Just boils down to getting those two spots right.
  4. I’ll never understand this “blow everything up” mentality. I can only assume it’s petulance. You don’t build a good team by discarding all the good players. The only good player that should even be considered is CMC and ONLY if we get a significant return for him. I only say him because of the risk of injury and probable longevity at that position. Otherwise, people saying trade Burns, Chinn, DJ, we’re not likely to get equal in the draft with whatever picks we get for them. Probably not even close. Makes no sense.
  5. It’s still Rhules fault. Rhules QBs, Rhules staff on the sideline for the most part. Lingering lack of morale. Rhules stench is still all over the team.
  6. This team is in better shape than at the end of the ‘10 season. We get a good coach and QB in the off-season, we’re on our way.
  7. There can be balance between more than two or three passes and “we should have run the ball”. We should have thrown more, not more than running it.
  8. Allowing McAdoo to call a game with only two or three forward passes for the first three and a half quarters is enough to prove to me our next HC ain’t on the team right now. Those two or three passes from PJ were horribly off target, but you still gotta try.
  9. Don’t understand why we didn’t at least use a timeout on the 4th down…
  10. Fowler’s a little bitch. The contentiousness in the interview happened when Fowler was trolling by asking if Tepper just rolled out of bed that morning and decided to fire Rhule, knowing gd well this wasn’t a spur of the moment decision. It was a long time coming and Fowler is known to be a troll anyway. Tepper has fuged up plenty, but this wasn’t one of the times.
  11. Yea the line has looked very good to my eyes as well. Just took replacing most of it to get good
  12. I mean, most of the best QBs did go high. Mahommes, Allen, Herbert, Burrow. Murray and Stafford haven’t been great so far but they’re good QBs who were drafted high. Watson on the field is good, drafted high. Only a few of the really good ones were drafted outside the first round.
  13. Outside of QB and ignoring losses we probably would have had regardless (like Luke and Greg), yea easily better now. Much better OL and secondary, slightly better DL.
  14. Depends on if we’re looking at QB #2/3 or #4/5 at that point. If only one or two QBs have gone then swing on another if you believe in the guy that’s left. If there’s already been a run on QBs don’t take a guy just hoping he’s the diamond in the rough this year.
  15. I’ve read from two different random people on Facebook we’re trading DJ to the Ravens. Hope it’s not true, there’s no reason to believe either of these people other than the fact they’re two unrelated sources with no connection at all saying the same thing. I hope that’s wrong, makes no sense at all for multiple reasons.
  16. There is absolutely no sense in trading DJ. CMC only if he can get us GOOD assets. He’s too valuable to us to offload for a mere 2nd or less. Even on the pessimistic side and he only has a couple good years left, two years of CMC is far better for us than five years of whatever they get in the second round beyond lucking into some star. Realistically you get a maybe decent starter in the second, not a star.
  17. Yea. I wanted him gone then and every year after. Was a mistake not getting rid of him when he showed no improvement in year three. I maintain we would have won the Super Bowl in ‘15 (and maybe others) if we had a competent HC and OC. Wasted some of the best players the Panthers ever had. Definitely the best QB. Wasted Luke, Norman, Olsen, a better HC might have been able to help Hardy make better decisions (or maybe not), wouldn’t have pushed Gross out the door and neglected the OL. Despicable.
  18. Terrible. His QB in Carolina is the only reason he kept his job past year three. Horrible horrible coach who is no stranger to throwing his players under the bus. So glad he’s gone.
  19. Great press conference so far. He’s a bit snippy too. Reporter: “but but but Tepper said to ask you!” Wilks: “You asked and I answered. I’m focused on the Rams.” love it
  20. Fix the scheme holes on defense and steer McAdoo into producing better (and then dump him as soon as the season is over). Get the team playing hard again and looking like they’re having fun and improving. The players have looked defeated since last year, it’s been obvious by their body language and faces. I don’t foresee Wilks turning the team around like that, I don’t think he’s going to be the guy. But if he can pull off a miracle and have this team looking like a well run team then he deserves the shot.
  21. Harbaugh was never not successful, he had a very talent deficient 49ers team competing every year. The only reason he left was disagreement with the GM, as far as I recall. I’m not pushing for us to hire him, but I can’t think of a coach who did more in his entire stint with less than Jim Harbaugh, personality issues or not (and yea he did seem like a real asshole)
  22. A) Rodrigue reporting it doesn’t make it a fact B) Even if it was true, would have been foolish to commit long term to an injured QB. Tepper seemed happy to let Cam come back and show he could still play but Rhule didn’t give him that opportunity.
  23. Tepper took over with injured Cam. Would have been foolish to commit long term to him at that point. Should have let him finish his contract and see what he could still do.
  24. Big difference: he was successful. He even had Kaepernick looking like a legit NFL QB.
