  1. I dunno. He’s had one good year his whole career, been a jag the rest. If the coaching staff wants to keep him and restructures him so his number is more manageable I’ll take their word for it.
  2. The point is even if you trade a bunch of picks and miss you can still recover from it and succeed. Not that they traded up and took the right player.
  3. Kunkel is a nobody. Wouldn’t trust him any more than Person or Newton. Probably even less.
  4. It’s going to cost more than that. And it’ll be worth it for Stroud
  5. Not interested in any of them. In terms of value per benefit, I’d just keep Darnold on the cheap to back up our new rookie QB, maybe start a few games to begin the season if necessary
  6. If we can’t move up for Stroud or Young and Richardson is there at 9, yea I’m happy with that. Not really keen on trading up for him though. If we absolutely must, no giving up extra firsts or this year’s seconds hopefully.
  7. I dunno if it’s so much collusion as it is smart. It would be foolish to give a 250mil fully guaranteed contract to an injury prone QB, especially with having to give up two firsts to make that mistake. If he was a FA I’d absolutely be down for negotiating and trying to sign him. No to big money + two firsts though. And that’s probably what most teams are thinking.
  8. I hope that’s what it looks like. I think Carr will do well in NO and that sucks but their coach is still Dennis Allen. I hope Atlanta gives up two firsts and a huge guaranteed deal for an injury prone QB. They don’t have much on that team outside two marginally above average pass catchers, they’re not scaring anyone. Tampa’s window has slammed shut, even if they upgraded from Trask the team is old and the coach isn’t that good either.
  9. He’s a good passer and great runner but having to give a quarter of our cap to him AND spend two firsts is a deal breaker. If it was two or three firsts with a rookie deal, sure. A quarter of the cap on a free agent, sure. No to both. Especially one with injury concerns.
  10. This time next year Maye and Williams will be jags and the next draft class will be sooooo much better.
  11. One of the top TEs, a solid WR, a good ILB and/or DE. Don’t have many names because I’ve been focusing on researching QBs
  12. They get a first for dropping to 3 and still taking the player they would have taken at 1 anyway. Might be more appealing than getting an extra first and second but missing out on the player they want and having to settle for their second or third or fourth choice.
  13. The only reason would be Chicago not wanting to drop that far because they don’t want to miss out on their choice of defensive player and doing it that way makes it more certain for them. They might hesitate if they have to assume they’ll have to make another trade to get what they want.
  14. That’s what I think will happen. We’ll give #9, next years first and maybe the 49ers’ second to get to 3, then trade 2024 2nd and 2025 first to Chicago to get to 1. And I’m absolutely good with that for Stroud.
  15. Because as I’ve said since before the end of the college season, he is the most accurate, smooth, natural passer I’ve just about ever seen in college. The talent he shows on the field is independent of the team around him. I can’t remember anyone in college throwing with better placement and touch and anticipation than him in a long time and I’ve been watching football since before the Panthers existed. His biggest shortcoming is that he’s not a scrambler….ok don’t care. He can maneuver the pocket plenty well and throw better than anyone in the draft. He is legit. The only thing that could hold him back, in my opinion, is injury or bad attitude. We can’t predict either of those things, so from what I can see he’s the most sure thing possible.
  16. There is no price too high in terms of first round picks. You can trade three, and I’d do that in a heartbeat. The only way draft picks could start getting too expensive is if it were something crazy like three firsts, three seconds, three thirds. Three firsts and a second and maybe a third is what I’m comfortable with spending to go get Stroud. You start adding proven players that’s another story, you can absolutely gut your team if you’re stupid about it. But I don’t see that happening. Maybe a scenario where it’s a 1st, a 2nd and Burns, which I’d be ok with.
  17. All three of the top guys have their strengths but the one who is best at getting the football from his hand to the receivers’? Stroud, without question. That’s what I care about.
