  1. Plenty, plus arguably the greatest TE ever. A good TE is all we had after Smitty got dumped. Not to mention playcallers that didn’t eat glue.
  2. Cam didn’t have accuracy issues, he maybe overthrew a tiny bit more than average, but he was excellent at deep balls, good at placement and overall accuracy. He just rarely had any receivers and a terrible OC that couldn’t scheme a receiver open if it was 11 on 7 for most of his career.
  3. That’s basically where I’m at, I think all things considered they’re pretty comparable, but the separators: throwing ability vs off script playmaking, I value throwing ability more. The size thing is mildly concerning, but not the difference maker to me.
  4. Well that’s just horse poo. He’s shorter, lighter and throws significantly worse.
  5. To be clear, I’m less worried about his body deteriorating over the course of four or five years than I am of one vicious hit ending his career that wouldn’t have been as catastrophic on someone with more mass. Might never get hit like that, but he also might get hit and ended when the hit wouldn’t have ended someone else’s career.
  6. A) I didn’t say we shouldn’t draft him. I like Young, he’s my second favorite QB in this draft and the only other one is want at #1. B) the point I was referring to is that it doesn’t matter that big hits are down when a tiny person is more likely to be more greatly affected by a single vicious hit than an average size person. Therefore, it only takes one matters more when discussing a tiny person.
  7. Wait, we’re just accepting this is true with no questions whatsoever despite contradicting multiple reports from the past couple months? If it’s true, then that’s a negative mark but hardly a death knell.
  8. Yea. The main criticism that I thought was important was how, yea he’s accurate, but he’s not super accurate. He’s better than average accurate but not great accurate. That’s one of the main things that gets glossed over, I’ve heard more than one person say he’s the most accurate with the best anticipation and things like that and that’s just wildly exaggerating. But still, great overall QB, and the video is 90% positive and I agree with most of it.
  9. No, that’s Ricky’s thread with his collection of videos. If he wants to add this one in and mods close this one down that’s fine too.
  10. It’s just more all encompassing instead of only focusing on his positives and only mentioning the size as a negative. Norris is 100% positive, but the other guy actually shows some of the negatives beyond just his size that I’d noticed in my research. Still very positive, but some stuff is brought up I haven’t seen many other analysts touch on.
  11. This one wasn’t there and it’s new, so
  12. “You can’t land hard hits on a QB anymore or it’s a penalty”….and yet those hits are still hard even when they’re penalized…still happens.
  13. The Underdog Football guys discuss Young. Good video that discusses a bit more of his traits than I’ve seen in other videos.
  14. It’s a well known fact that heisman winning QB’s often don’t do well in the nfl. But that’s almost as stupid an argument to use against a prospect as what school they went to. It’s asinine and they have to be judged on their individual potential and evaluation.
  15. I haven’t researched him, just watched the OP video. How is this guy not a lock in the first, just injuries? Seems to have elite ball skills and good size/speed.
  16. Definitely hope we don’t have to build an all time great defense and most dominant RB in the game in order for him to be successful. I’d rather the offense be able to go through him to be successful.
  17. Honestly, my preferred scenario would be the same idea but for Kincaid or Mayer. But JSN seems highly thought of around here so I figured that would be a better question to ask.
  18. Would you guys be ok with this scenario? Variables: JSN falls to the mid 20s, just say 25 for example. Entirely possible, he’s not elite and a team could definitely still have QR at #1 based on athleticism and YAC abilities. Carolina takes Young #1, for the purpose of this hypothetical just to avoid the existing relationship bias. Trade: Carolina trades #39, #93 and next year’s third to move to 25 to take JSN. Value works out, I know most want to trade down rather than up given our remaining draft positions, but there’s something to be said for quality over quantity and we don’t have many holes. Better to get higher quality pieces and build toward longer term success than trying to get to mid tier asap.
  19. I think you’re confusing a lotta posts by few people with a lot of people. There has been plenty of us pro-Stroud crew that is also pro-Young. Just more pro on Stroud because he’s a better passer, not worried about Young’s height at all and only worried about how tiny he is a little. I’ve preferred Stroud from the beginning simply because he’s a better passer and I value that more than scrambling around and off script abilities.
