  1. A) CMC isn’t just a rb B) there’s no way of knowing if this year was going to be the new norm for him. We paid him early precisely so by the end of his second contract would be when he carries start catching up with him, not at the beginning of his second contract. And if we had waited and gave him a second contract a year or two later it would have been even bigger due to contract inflation C) I’m not completely against trading CMC, but not along with three 1sts. If we were to trade CMC for picks we’d easily get more than a 1st. Maybe two. Four or five firsts value is a bit too much. I’m all for going big for Watson but not THAT gd big
  2. In what world is losing the best offensive weapon in the league a favor?
  3. Tapped the link just out of curiousity why it would have “come out” in tb, glad I did so I could pie the post. Good on you @Verge
  4. Hah I never venture into the TB. I can’t stand enough people already without knowing which ones are unrepentant bigoted racists and other nonsense
  5. My bad. Unless they have some specification in their name like ladypanther or mr scot I have no idea what people around here are heh
  6. Verge’s info is usually good. His record is good enough for me to believe that when it isn’t good it’s not on him but on his source.
  7. Three 1sts and CMC is too much, imo. Three 1sts? Ok. Two 1sts and two defensive starters like Shaq and Boston? Ok. A 1st, a 2nd and CMC? I think I’d be ok with that.
  8. This is David Newton. It’s not a report or an update, it’s poo thrown against a wall.
  9. Star was more critical to a good dline. Short got the stats but Star was the better player. Not everyone said they were glad we signed Short over Star. The loss of Star was the beginning of the end of our top tier defense.
  10. I’d say 3rd, behind Jenkins and Star. Agreed on well wishes though. He got too much hate for being injured. Seemed like a good dude and good teammate. Hope he doesn’t have to settle for Washington.
  11. Panthers might have been giving calls about a Bridgewater. Not receiving
  12. In this rebuild, “in the hunt” in year two, year one of the new QB will be good enough. Different from the RivEra because we’ll still be trending up. Rivera never grew or got any better.
  13. Mostly just rides on the QB. That one “if” works out, we’re in the hunt.
  14. if it’s not good enough then that’s not the answer. Even what we had this past year is good enough for now. I’m pretty confident we can at least replicate that.
  15. But two firsts, a third and a fifth is not a bad deal to go from 8 to 3. Not bad at all.
  16. With all that said, I think I’d prefer Lance to Fields, especially if he’s cheaper to get to. Wilson is my strong preference though, if possible.
  17. Trent Williams would be pricey but possibly available. Orlando Brown Jr. Others we’re not aware of. I’d give up next year’s second for Brown. If we can’t find a long term fix, then get a short term fix for now and try again next year. QB is more important to address than LT and takes longer to develop. If we have to wait til next year for an LT, they’re more likely to be ready day one than a QB
  18. That’s not really that bad of a deal. I’m not sold on fields but I’d be cautiously optimistic. I would expect moving up to 3 to cost more than that. Fields in the first, OG in the second, get a LT via FA or trade, LB in the fourth. Depending on how quick Fields gets ready, we’ll be set
  19. No team has zero chance at the playoffs. That is absolutely a false idea. This division used to have a long run of worst to first. I don’t think we’re necessarily overtaking the Saints next year but I do think we’re a lot closer than many around here wanna admit. Bridgewater was by far the biggest reason we missed out last year. Our defense is getting better. We have a great group of skill players on offense. We get some o-line and a good QB, we’re making a run. But that’s the trick, getting that QB
  20. That’s patently false. We get a good QB and a couple OL we have a very legit shot at the playoffs.
  21. We absolutely can’t rely on okung staying healthy. I think we could find a way to pay Brown and Moton. If the Saints can spend like they do, we can figure out a way. If it comes down to Brown or Samuel we gotta go with the OL. No way we give up a first though.
  22. I have no clue what it would take to get him. All I know I wouldn’t want to jeopardize getting a QB for him. Otherwise, I’m down for whatever within reason.
  23. We’re kind of agreeing heh. Oher was right around average. Which is worth a third when everything we’ve fielded since Gross was trash. Okung was quite good for those three or four games he was healthy, but we need consistency. But whether Oher would have been worth a third is irrelevant lol. I’d give up a couple thirds for Orlando Brown. It would seem he can play LT decently and he’s still young. Could have us at least decent at LT for a while
  24. Eh, minus the concussion issues being a 6/10 LT is worth a couple thirds I’d say
