  1. I don't think #6 is the only way out, but I do think that the draft is. The only vets we're going to get are the ones with no other choice. We're going to have to find out next QB on the draft. There just aren't very many Jake Delhommes out there.
  2. I think he very well could be and what frustrates me is that if we'd played him more there last year we'd likely have a much better idea on this question than we do currently.
  3. More the latter. Johnny Football type vibes.
  4. I just remember everyone was obsessed with Halo the video game early in my college days. I just couldn't get into it. It's like... uh, this is just 007 Golden Eye except featuring aliens and laser guns and we played so much Golden Eye back in middle school that I'm just over it.
  5. I like the player. I have questions about the mental makeup though.
  6. I wanted either Gilmore or Poe and oddly enough they got drafted in the two picks directly following Luke and both ended up playing for the Panthers for brief stints.
  7. I'm really lucky to have (relatively slow) broadband access given that my driveway is over a quarter of a mile long and I'm over a half of a mile off of the nearest public road. The builder of the house had it ran. I have no idea what that cost, but I contacted AT&T about an upgrade and they didn't even quote me an exact price, they just said over $12k. Okay, cool. Thanks but no thanks. Just ran a speed test and it's 12.9 down and 0.76 up. Like I said, slow but it works for my needs. I don't do online gaming so streaming Netflix and the likes is the extent of my needs. Once there's more 4k content available for streaming I'll probably start running into issues and need an upgrade.
  8. The rest of the NFL strongly disagrees. This is a QB league. Its all about QB, weapons for the QB, protecting the QB, and impacting the QB on D.
  9. Starlink has been holding my deposit for over a year. It was supposed to be available here by last summer. I'm about to say fug it and cancel. Yeah, Starlink is a lot faster than my current speeds but it's also more expensive and I'm honestly not struggling with my current speeds like I thought I might.
  10. Yep. I was thinking the same. It was past time for us to part ways with Ron the football coach but I've always like Ron the man.
  11. It's not about being sold on Hubbard long term. It's about him vs. a 4th round rookie on a roster full of holes and short on draft capital. Unless we're entertaining trading CMC, RB should pretty much be off the board unless there's just some unbelievably tremendous value available.
  12. And that was his problem. Snap, emotional judgements. Sure, it worked out great on a few players but it led to a really awful overall batting percentage. Everyone considered by the NFL has some nice college highlights.
  13. There isn't value of there isn't room on the roster though. I have a hard time seeing a 4thbround rookie making our roster over CMC, Foreman, and Hubbard. Mid-round picks are also where the value is often found with LBs and IOL. I'd rather spend picks there where a rookie would have a much stronger chance of sticking.
  14. Agreed. Honestly, taking a RB doesn't make sense otherwise. It would be difficult for a rookie to make the roster with CMC, Foreman, and Hubbard already here and given our lack of draft capital we need to be taking guys who we are very comfortable can make the 53 even with our late rounders.
  15. I really think that they would ideally like to trade down to get more picks to make up for the lack of a 2nd or 3rd round pick and take a QB later than 6th. I just wonder what happens if someone trades up to take a QB in front of them? Would they stick to their guns and still trade back or would they panic?
  16. I agree with the Mayfield physical comparisons. The big difference is between the ears and Mayfield didn't fall out of favor because of lack of physical ability.
  17. So another slam dunk losing season? Fitts had alluded to it. At some point, you have to stop pushing the chips off to the future and start swinging at QB and keep swinging until you get a hit. And as we've found out, cast off vets have by far the lowest batting percentage. The vets we actually want want no part of us.
  18. Fields/Gardner for sure. If Fields was in this draft class he'd be the slam dunk #1 QB prospect which was a point I made last year around this time - Fields had the make up of a #1 overall draft pick in most draft classes. Last year's QB class was just extremely strong on paper. I do have to wonder though... just how bad were his interviews, OSU coach feedback, etc? Because him slipping to 9th overall still doesn't make sense to me.
  19. Where you been? Everything we've been doing at the QB position in recent years has best been described as "next level stupid".
  20. If Darnold is under center we're gonna be lucky to match the five wins of the past three seasons considering we've lost our sack leader and best CB from last year's team.
  21. Retaining Rhule for a third year isn't a promising start to the learning curve.
  22. I was really hopeful about Tepper in the beginning too. I'm just seeing virtually nothing to cling to in order to keep that hope going at this point. He's brilliant in the world of investing. He seems like a moron in the world of running an NFL football team.
  23. Not much of that wealth increase is due to the Panthers. If you had disposable wealth at the beginning of this pandemic and you don't have significantly more now, then you missed a LOT of low hanging fruit. There was a huge transfer of wealth as there always is during any sort of economic hiccup.
