You fail to grapple with the reality that Stroud has proven that he can play at a high level in the NFL and Bryce hasn't. Guys who have shown it tend to get a little more leeway because... well, they've shown it.
-
Which part of "Stroud has regressed" did you fail to interpret?
-
It's just overall a massive pain in the ass for something that may or may not happen. You see games rescheduled for hurricanes. You don't see games rescheduled for scattered thunderstorms. It's a lot better to maybe deal with the possibility of an hour or two delay than it is to move the entire operation due to the chance of scattered thunderstorms. It's just part of the deal playing outdoors in the early part of the season. We only have a couple more weeks with it being a major issue.
-
It's not just the corporations. Look at all the resources that go into planning for the traffic, etc. To snap your fingers at the last minute and bump a major D1 football game up a few hours is simple to say but it's a logistical nightmare. And predicting scattered thunderstorms a week out? I mean, we all watch the weather. Weather predictions a week out is like planning your finances around scratch off lottery tickets.
-
The logistics of that can't be simple. Putting on a high level D1 football game is a massive multifaceted operation. Pretty damn hard to just wake up in the morning and say "hey, let's bump this whole thing up a few hours".

Directly. You can indirectly help facilitate as many outside NIL deals as possible. The perks you're talking about are essentially what are now simply NIL deals not directly coming from the school and they're legal now.

Stop. I'll take this offensive roster with Cam at QB over the roster Cam carried to a SB. Straight up. Greg Olsen is the only one I'd be losing off the 2015 roster that would have me saying "damn, that's gonna be hard to replace". *I should add Ryan Kalil to that list too but overall, I honestly think our current OL is at least as good as that one. That one had an edge inside and this one has an edge at OT.

I don't see how this is hard to understand. Folks are dunking over Stroud regressing to Bryce levels while seemingly failing to understand that it's a lot more about Stroud regressing, not Bryce improving and at least Stroud has shown that he can be a high level NFL QB. And there's still that inconvenience of the reality that a LOT of Bryce's stats production comes in garbage time against soft zone defense because our opponent is nursing a big lead. The level of cope for some is just comical.

The early games today don't look like much but there's some good games starting at 3:30.
-
Two really good games last night. I fell asleep during halftime Oregon State/Houston but randomly woke to catch the last couple minutes and OT. I was hoping Oregon State would pull it off to get a W instead of falling to 0-5.
-
UVA wins it in double OT. Great game.
-
That's not a catch.
-
The ACC will protect their playoff contenders. That was blatant pass interference on FSU.
-
Haynes King is a dog.
-
INT, heading to OT.
-
Well, 36 seconds and three timeouts... I guess this thing could still be decided in regulation.
-
Wow. Helluva throw and catch on 4th down. XP away from OT.
-
FSU better slow down or they're gonna give UVA enough time to score to beat them.
-
After getting walked over all night FSU's D forces the three and out. They have a chance.
-
FSU may be cooked. Another redzone turnover. Might've been picked but it's a turnover on downs if not. Under 3 minutes to play but they do have all three timeouts. Major uphill battle if they're gonna survive.
-
Damn. That was a dime of a toss on that wheel route.
-
Meanwhile, FSU and UVA are engaged in the wildest turnover fest in football history. 4 turnovers in the first 10 minutes. LOL

You're working off of old information. We were spending about $4M in NIL under Mack. We had to commit in Belichick's contract to spending the NIL max which is around $20M plus Belichick's $10M plus another $10M for the rest of the staff, another $1M to S&C staff and $5M for the football office staff. The issue is absolutely NOT lack of resources as badly as you want that to be true. We are absolutely spending our asses off and you're seeing what that bought us. Stop lying to yourself. People say you can just buy a team in the NIL era and in a lot of ways that's true, or... you can just buy yourself an organization of crony nepotism. We chose the latter. Hope Bill and company enjoy that $$$. https://www.si.com/nfl/bill-belichick-unc-business-of-football#:~:text=And%2C perhaps most importantly%2C UNC,so before their Bowl games. Of course, Belichick is not naive. He is aware of the new financial realities that he will have to deal with and, with the leverage he had coming there, required UNC to ante up to make his transition easier and more resourceful. In addition to his $10 million salary, Belichick can spend $10 million on his coaching staff, $1 million on strength and conditioning staff, and $5 million on office staff that includes his longtime colleague Michael Lombardi for the position of general manager. And, perhaps most importantly, UNC has agreed to seriously upgrade its NIL budget from $4 million to the maximum allowable under the new revenue sharing system coming, which will likely be around $20 million.

You look for motivation anywhere you can get it. I've worked in sales my entire career. Do I relish every opportunity I get to take business away from a former employer? You damn right I do. LOL

Mack was the right hire at the time. Fedora drove us into the dumpster and Mack was a guy who had proven success at the college level including in Chapel Hill. I don't think folks were lining up to jump on the opportunity and we needed somebody to come in a stabilize us and bring some credibility. Mack checked all the boxes. It's just that he wanted to stay on past his expiration date. If he'd stepped aside going into Maye's final season giving us a chance to go big game hunting with a Heisman contender as bait we could be flying high right now and Mack would be celebrated as the guy who built the bridge to get us there.
