I think McCarthy has the right mentality to make it as a QB I'm just not sure he's a good enough QB to make it as a QB in the NFL. He's just not an NFL level passer right now. His accuracy is really sporadic and you can tell he's really straining when he has to put some mustard on it and then his accuracy issues show up even more. He's got a lot of improving to do as a pure thrower of the football if he's gonna make it.

If he's gonna last in the league it's probably as a gadget player. The problem is that he hasn't shown much of anything with the ball in his hands either.

And if you're gonna draft a project, draft a young one not a guy who's already as old on draft day as a lot of second and even third year pros.

Or the last two minutes when somehow you actually shockingly have a chance to win the game and the refs are trying to drag you across the finish line and yet you still refuse to cooperate.

How is it bashing? What physical asset does Bryce have that isn't subpar at the NFL level? What physical asset does he have that is superior to Murray's?

Murray pretty much has all the tools minus size. Big difference from Bryce who has none of the tools plus none of the size and while similar height I'd bet Murray has at least 20 pounds on Bryce, maybe more.

An elite QB is a guy that no matter what else is going on with roster holes, injuries, whatever makes you think going into any game "we gotta shot because we have THAT GUY playing QB". It's pretty much that simple IMO.

I think we should start using the Wonderlic for our front office hires. Why they thought drafting a guy who did absolutely nothing in college until he was a super senior granted an extra year due to COVID is baffling. Had his college eligibility ended when it should have I'm not even sure if he would've gotten any UDFA camp invites.

That sucks. I hate injuries whether a guy is good or not or even on our team. Injuries just suck.

And the Panthers were marketing him like that this off-season too. The only problem is that he's an athlete who sucks at playing football.

Putting the INT on Legette isn't fair but yeah, he sucks. No arguing against that.

He doesn't panic when he thinks there's nothing to play for. He panics when he thinks there is. We have to move on at QB.

It doesn't matter what Morgan and Canales know if Tepper is still a true believer.

Oh, that's gonna change. All the Panthers are gonna do is rave about Bryce's 300+ yards and 3 TDs and his HUGE second half comeback conveniently avoiding the hard truths about his performance.

They had to do something. I mean, they looked like possibly the worst power conference team in the country. They're not just 0-3. They've lost every game by two scores averaging a near 20 point deficit per loss and seem to be getting worse every week having just lost by 19 to Old Dominion. That level of play is gonna decimate your recruiting a lot more than pulling the plug on it.

Yeah, if you give them three drive salvaging penalties most are gonna pull it off.

That's why the stat can be misleading.

I wouldn't say a guaranteed W but they'd at least give you a chance. Bryce didn't give us a chance and THAT is precisely the problem. He was right back to scrambling around looking timid and unsure, taking bad sacks, and badly missing throws. And that was with the refs throwing flags to give us second and third chances. He still couldn't manage to move us an inch.

I mean, he wasn't lying. He only promised that our days of mediocrity were over and they were. He didn't elaborate and tell us that he was gonna turn us into a bottom dweller.

Guys, jokes and poking fun aside, this was his shot. If he had a chance to turn the corner and get over the hump THIS WAS IT. His confidence had to have been soaring after feasting on soft zone all second and yet he STILL reverted right back to his timid, unsure looking self as SOON as we actually had a shot at the end. The switch just absolutely flipped off. He's just a different QB when there's something on the line. And I mean that in the absolute worst of ways. Some QBs are gamers. Jake was famous for looking mediocre in practice and turning it on during games and being at his best in big moments. Bryce is the opposite of that. Sn anti-gamer if you will.

His "game winning drives": The only two where he actually had TDs had the same thing in common. We were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Who would bite? Maybe KC would take a shot at him? Their WRs look awful. I can't imagine anyone would give us much of anything. I'd rather replace him in the lineup with Coker and try him out as a gadget player poor man's Cordarelle Patterson before trading him for practically nothing which is likely what he'd fetch.
