  1. Well, I mean he's terrible so this was completely expected. It's still a relief. There has been way too many statements from the organization acting like this guy is some type of solution.
  2. @Cullenator That's what I'm saying. Focus on the things that make the firearms more lethal. Rate of fire and ammo capacity with the latter being by far and away most important. If you only have five rounds it really doesn't matter that it's fully automatic. Here's the reality about any semi-auto, they're all relatively easy to convert to full auto by someone with a bit of fabrication ability. If we're talking about five rounds there's not a huge difference between fully auto, semi-auto, pump, or lever action. The big factor is removable high capacity magazines.
  3. I've openly talked about the fact that I'd support banning capacity over five rounds and banning detachable magazines. Too many people get caught up in features that don't actually make a firearm more lethal in a mass shooting setting. It's really all about rate of fire and ammo capacity. Those are the factors that actually matter. That scary looking AR-15 is no more lethal than grandpa's deer rifle if it is limited to a five round fixed magazine. It's probably actually less lethal because it's likely firing a significantly weaker round. Just because I wouldn't go as far as you would doesn't mean I don't seem to support any sort of gun reform.
  4. Yeah, I get that. I mean, just making the roster is a huge success for a UDFA. Anything more than that is some absolutely delicious icing on the cake.
  5. Meh, part of the fun of camp and preseason is seeing which of the long shots will actually make it. Everybody likes a good underdog story.
  6. According to the TB I'm a "gun but" but I don't own a single firearm that would come close to qualifying for any sort of "assault rifle" ban and I only own one handgun. But I'm a "gun nut". Bolt action rifles and antique lever guns are my jam but I don't "collect" bolt guns. I use them. They're tools. The Remington 700 .308 that my Dad gave me when I moved to CO that he bought when he turned 18 is the only bolt gun I own that I'll definitely never part with. I have two original Winchester Model 1873s and two 1892s. I have about $60k worth of antique firearms. All inherited. None fancy. All just average Joe shooters but they appraise high because they're all original and in great condition.
  7. The kitten is doing well. It has gone from 120 grams when I took it in to 180 grams this morning.
  8. That's why it's a good idea to sign him NOW if he's part of the long-term plan. We've devalued him playing him out of position for two years. If we're going to use him how he should be used get him signed now before reminding the league how good he is. Imagine Kam Chancellor being used as a primary deep cover safety. It would've been a LOT uglier than Chinn's past two seasons.
  9. I expect focus to probably shift toward Burns' extension now. Would not be surprised if Brown is extended this off-season too after picking up his 5th year option. Still unsure of our long-term plans with Chinn but if we expect him to be a key player in the D now would be the time to get him under contract long-term.
  10. Definitely cool. I hope that guy can make it, but damn he's literally the size of a middle school RB. He was definitely exciting in college.
  11. It's hard to believe that Fournette is still only 28. His 2015 LSU season is probably the most dominant college RB season I can recall. Either that or Ron Dayne's 1999 season at Wisconsin. It wasn't just the numbers they put up, it was that they were just straight up physically dominating and obliterating their competition. But I think both of those guys' NFL careers suffered by the toll their bodies had already endured in the college game.
  12. I'm actually hoping we turn the corner and can actually start enjoying football season rather than constantly looking at next year's draft class because we fuging suck.
  13. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Peoples ends up making the roster. The kid can play. He lacks elite speed but the guy can play. 4.6 speed for a guy that size isn't exactly "slow".
  14. Mingo is intriguing for sure. It also pretty much confirms that we definitely didn't want to trade DJ. Everything I read about Mingo screams "slightly bigger DJ Moore" to me.
  15. Yeah, pretty much agree with those takes. We'll see how it works out.
  16. Solid list of guys. I could see 3-4 of these guys making the 53 and a couple more on the PS.
  17. He's been considerably overrated and overpaid. But for the right price I'd be all for it.
  18. Randomly pulling names out of a hat among draft eligible still available players couldn't have turned out much worse.
  19. I have several antique lever action guns. Those are the only guns I'd say that I "collect".
  20. We'd probably trade Corral for anything I just doubt we could get anything.
  21. Reich was just on NFLN. Brown was the second name out of his mouth after Burns when talking D. Henderson's name wasn't mentioned at all. Specific names mentioned were Burns, Brown, Horn, Shaq, and Chinn.
  22. I'd be shocked if we don't pick up Brown's and I'd be shocked if we do pick up Henderson's.
  23. So... pure desperation is what I gather? That always leads to good decisions. Most of these guys who bounce around positions - particularly from one side of the ball to the other - are typically great athletes who simply aren't good football players. It's just coaches trying to figure out some way to use this gifted athlete and nothing is clicking. There are exceptions but those guys are indeed the exception and not the rule.
