I've seen so much bad OL play watching the Panthers and Commanders that Philly's OL is pretty shocking to see. Blowing the DL off the ball in the running game and Hurts is standing back there doing his taxes in the pocket.

I've seen people talk about IF Bryce is a bust but I honestly haven't seen anyone flat out calling him a bust. Then again I would've probably just scrolled right past it if I had. We don't know what Bryce is going to be after only two games. All we can really discuss is what he's shown so far. Everything beyond that is just speculation.

Evans with a drop to send the Bucs 3 and out. Baker could've made a little better throw but it was plenty catchable and a ball Evans catches 9 times out of 10.

He has looked really bad this year. I think that injury is way worse than they've let on. It really doesn't seem like trying to play him through it is benefitting anyone.

I absolutely don't. But I'm not going to distort reality. Reality is that Bryce has been bad and Dalton was significantly better yesterday. That sucks, but like I said that is just cold hard reality. Going around being on utter denial doesn't make you a good fan. Any decent fan hopes Bryce will improve and be a great QB. But any rational fan has to admit that he hasn't been good so far. Sorry.

PFF grades after week 3 (not for the faint of heart)
LinvilleGorge replied to Cdparr7's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I liked the pick and thought he had potential but he's clearly not ready. He's just getting abused. We have to have SOMEBODY better than that. Surely. -
Well, Whiskey Myers was AWESOME. We left probably halfway through Eric Church's set.

Hiring Sean Payton is one of the few things that the Panthers could do that would get me to immediately renounce my fandom on the spot.
-
Reich sucks but all the folks begging for Sean Payton sure have gotten awfully quiet.

The guy is unflappable. If they can fix their protection he'll bounce back. Unfortunately, I don't think they can. They're going to have to scheme around it. More establishing the run to be able to live off of play action. More screens and quick slants. Howell's strength is the deep ball but they're going to have to setup their shots.

Yesterday was terrible for him but it was also probably the worst pass protection I've personally ever seen in the NFL. Evidently it was the second highest pressure rate that has been recorded in the Next Gen Stats era (that would be dating back to 2018). https://x.com/granthpaulsen/status/1706056514627072037?s=20 You can't have good QB play with that.

It's my big concern with Caleb Williams as a prospect. More and more every year this league is becoming about getting the ball out FAST. "Last season, his 3.24-second average time to throw was the highest among Power Five quarterbacks." That would be good for the second slowest time in the NFL since 2018.

The odds have to be VERY good for two top 5 picks and astronomical for two top 10 picks. They're probably gonna be able to draft a QB then turn around and grab a stud WR prospect to pair with DJ. Seems like a sweet setup but the Bears are hopelessly snakebit at QB so I'm sure they'll fug it up.
