  1. Yeah, it's just forced comps for clicks. I mean think back to 2011. Who in the world are you comparing Cam Newton to? There just wasn't a comp.
  2. The win is to just accept he's not gonna be the pick. Honestly, if I was making the pick it's Richardson if I think he has it between the ears. You can't coach his physical tools. But I'm not gonna derail every thread with poo posts about Richardson because I'm butt hurt. I'm just gonna hope that when it's all said and done we make the right pick.
  3. The more I think about it the more I honestly think this decision likely came down to Young vs. Richardson. Elite mental processing vs. elite physical skill set.
  4. With the Stroud contingent hanging their hat so hard on that particular measurable I expected a lot more significant gap than that.
  5. Honestly, I think so. We don't want a situation like when the Eagles drafted McNabb. That's just a bad look for the franchise. You don't wanna throw a draft party in your stadium to welcome in your new franchise QB and then have that happen.
  6. When we made the trade I honestly think we didn't know exactly who we were gonna pick we had just done enough homework on the QB class to feel confident that we were going to be comfortable going to #1 to get one of them. IMO, Dalton was brought in primarily to be a vet mentor and a bridge starter if need be. I believe Richardson was a lot more in the mix than a lot of folks think. Very possibly more so than Stroud.
  7. All by design IMO. With them throwing a big draft night party at BOA they don't want this to be a shocker. They want a celebration, not a bunch of folks disappointed by the pick. The NFL doesn't want them outright saying who it's gonna be to keep up the suspense for draft night but the Panthers don't wasn't a bunch of folks in the stands expecting the pick to be one guy and then it's someone else.
  8. Pretty much. I said long ago that ultimately I'll be fine with Young, Stroud, or Richardson. I can definitely understand the arguments for and against all three. So whoever our staff and brass likes best, let's go.
  9. Just fuging awful. Straight up preyed on first time buyers who needed to lease but were really looking to buy and actively tried to get you into contracts with no way out.
  10. Focusing so heavily on recency is going to really limit your potential comps. I do think Brees and Wilson are the best comps for Young. Brees-like passer, though Brees had an advantage both in a strength and pure accuracy IMO. Wilson-like in mobility.
  11. Oh, I know. He made damn sure to tell me that he's helping me out as a friend of a friend but I absolutely could not let it be known. Really all he did was give me some general advice then handed me off to a really good mortgage broker who handled the heavy lifting. The complication was that the realtor was my landlord. The only way I had out of the lease was to use her as our realtor. That was her whole gimmick.
  12. There's a word for this. It's called spamming.
  13. It's just when it's every single post and it's all you do in every thread... good grief. Get it out of your system by Thursday. Fair warning.
  14. It's just that your shtick is one dimensional. Tout Stroud and/or knock Young. Every. Single. Post.
  15. Honestly, there's some posters who have not been banned yet literally because we're all just looking forward to watching the emotional blaze of glory they go out in.
  16. You're not beating anything? Every post you make is knocking Young and touting Stroud. Get it out of your system between now and Thursday because you won't be detailing every thread with Stroud hugging after the draft.
  17. I just wonder how many folks are gonna poo post their way into bannings afterward?
  18. Now look at outside the pocket and under pressure numbers. I like Stroud but it looks like he's not the pick. You're beating a dead horse.
  19. Go argue with NFL talent evaluators. They don't like OSU's offense in terms of evaluating QB prospects.
  20. Ironically, those Golden Gophers you are mocking had the #4 defense in the country on average points allowed. Hell, three of the top four defenses were in the Big Ten including the top two.
  21. That's the knock on OSU QBs. A lot of single read plays. It's not processing speed when the play is designed to get the ball out quickly to a specific receiver. There's really nothing to process beyond is he open or not?
  22. I don't think I've seen anyone in the media come out and say specifically that so and so within the organization is for this or against this guy or that guy. If Young isn't our pick then this is the biggest, most unnecessary smokescreen of all time but as far as our actual process of arriving at that decision? I don't think anyone in the media really knows. All I've seen is a bunch of very generic speculation masquerading as "info".
  23. Rhule to Nebraska always made a ton of sense. He's been successful dragging college programs out of the gutter but he's never proven he can build on that and actually make the step toward being a contender. Well, Nebraska's glory days aren't even visible in the rearview mirror and they're deep in the gutter. If Rhule can get them out of the gutter it'll be a successful hire for them. They can worry about taking the next step once they're out of the gutter. I was seeing this potential eventual pairing as far back as early last September. https://www.carolinahuddle.com/topic/178686-luke-decock-calling-out-rhule/?do=findComment&comment=5901636
  24. Publicity doesn't mean much if you don't win. The real value is that you now have your pick of the whole litter.
