The Lions are a lot better team than their record indicates. Several very close losses to very good teams. Versus a team like us where you watch us play and immediately think "how the fug did this team ever win three games"?

Honestly there was probably a sigh of relief in the Niners organization when Lance got hurt. The guy looked awful. Getting injured saved them from having to publicly bench him for a guy they'd obviously tried to move on from. Obviously they would've preferred something a little less extreme than completely grenading his ankle though.

Relatively pedestrian compared to his ridiculous season last year maybe but he's still having a great season. Definitely not "pedestrian".

Watching some of the clips he is just such a college coach. I don't say it as a bad thing. I honestly think he might land somewhere and do a great job. It's just that the NFL and college games are different beasts and he's tailor made for the college game and recruiting and getting players to buy in and maximize them over a short timeframe. That's not the NFL. The NFL is Xs and Os all day everyday. Rhule doesn't seem to be about that. He's a program builder. He thinks you can work hard and right attitude your way to success. You can in college if you can get the right kids on campus. You can't in the NFL. Every team is chock full of those guys who were the right kids on campus.

In the spirit of the thread title, the Jets have benched Zach Wilson and he'll be INACTIVE for this week's game. A healthy scratch. Wow. That went south FAST. So, yeah... before anyone suggests trading for Wilson... no. Just no. Hell fuging no. I loved him as a prospect but the guy still looks like a first day rookie. He's just not developing at all. I'd steer way clear of that.

The Chargers have one of the best young QBs in the game and they're a .500 team. They're 20-22 over the course of Herbert's career. One game over .500 last year. One and done on the playoffs blowing a 12 point 4th quarter lead at home. Firing their coach wouldn't be shocking and would be fully expected if they had already worked out a deal behind the scenes with Sean Payton.

Teddy is a guy who you're really happy to have if he's your backup QB on a good backup QB contract. But as a starter? Especially making starter money? Yikes. The biggest bonus for Mayfield and Darnold is that their contracts are up at the end of this year.
