  1. Fug NC State. I hate Carolina lost to fuging Georgia Tech but at the end of the day that loss will cost us nothing if we take care of business going forward. We weren't going to the playoffs anyway. All winning out would've done was give us a leg to stand on while we were whining. Go and beat Clemson and we're still the ACC champs and heading to the Orange Bowl. Beat state along the way because fug 'em.
  2. Oh lord, another self proclaimed QB guru emerges. Whenever you think player evaluation boils down to one very specific metric, you can rest assured that you're missing a LOT.
  3. I mean, I'd rather spend a 2nd round pick on a boom/bust prospect than dump $50M+ into Gesicki. If you think that's outlandish, go look at Dawson Knox's stats vs. Gesicki's. Knox got $53M over 4 years with $30M+ guaranteed.
  4. With his measurables I won't be shocked if he sneaks into the late 1st. I mean, imagine if you're the Cowboys. CeeDee Lamb is damn near your entire receiving offense. If you think this kid can be a Darren Waller type and there's not a receiver you absolutely love on the board, how do you pass on him?
  5. Don't get me wrong. I won't be surprised if he's a MUCH better pro. It's just that level of production (or rather lack of it) is eye opening for a supposed top prospect. I mean, if this guy is a Darren Waller type player and that's who he reminds me of in terms of height/weight/athleticism then damn... UGA has been really misusing him.
  6. My one and only (huge) reservation is how has such an amazing athletic specimen produced at such a completely pedestrian level? He has 41 catches for 712 yards and 2 TDs in his entire three year college career. Yeah, you definitely see flashes of elite ability. But damn... I mean that's some truly uninspiring production. Two TDs for a guy who should be a top redzone target? It just doesn't make sense.
  7. Age is the big difference with Levis. Richardson and Allen are/were significantly younger. If you're counting on someone to develop significantly, age has to be a big factor. The younger guy has a better chance of being further away from his ceiling. Levis will be 24 on the opening day of his rookie season. Allen was 24 during his third NFL season, the season when the lightbulb came on and he emerged as a legit elite NFL QB.
  8. Wow. That was a GREAT tackle to keeping that WR inbounds. That andac Jones taking a sack on the previous play pretty much guaranteed the Pats had no shot to pull off a last second miracle. Well, that having to get well within FG range to get into hail mary range for Mac Jones to get a ball into the endzone.
  9. For the record, when Mac Jones was coming out in the draft I said his NFL ceiling was Kirk Cousins. I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise.
  10. Mac Jones just put absolutely everything he had into that and it went maybe 50 yards.
  11. Remember when Dak Prescott got hella pissed when Amari Cooper called him the "black Kirk Cousins"? The guy has a reputation in the league. Maybe it's fair, maybe it's not. Maybe he'll change it with some better team success. But he has a reputation.
  12. He's kinda the anti-Delhomme. Jake's stat lines usually didn't look great, but the guy made the winning plays when the chips were down. Cousins' stat line often looks great and then he folds like a cheap suit when it matters most.
  13. Me too. I think defense is hamstrung enough already. But the NFL knows that the casual fans want to see lots of scoring.
  14. Because he's basically a .500 QB with one double digit win season. Four total playoff games with a 1-3 record in them. He's basically a high level game manager. He'll get you what you are. Put a good team around him and you'll be good. Put a bad team around him and you'll be bad. Put a mediocre team around him and you'll be mediocre. He doesn't lift the team above the expectations of what the rest of the team minus him would lead you to expect out of that team. Previous teammates have basically flat out said he's a stat padder. He's more interested in how his stat line turns out than trying to make the plays that will win the game. Which is pretty much exactly how his career has played out. With his stats you'd expect his team's to have a much better W-L record.
  15. Don't forget, Josh Allen had two back to back games early in his final season at Wyoming where he completed 9 out of 24 pass attempts and looked completely terrible. Kinda like Richardson and his Kentucky and South Florida games. It's not necessarily always about what they've done but what you think they could potentially do. With that said, yeah I think Richardson is boom or bust. Josh Allen was too. Hell, so was Cam. You just have to figure out whether you think they're gonna boom or bust. With some of these guys you just kinda know they're either gonna be great or awful. Their game will translate and they'll evolve or they won't. There's just no real avenue to mediocrity or decency. It's all in. One or the other. Boom or bust.
  16. Scoring peaked in '21 with teams averaging 24.8 points per game. It dropped to 23 last year. It's at 21.8 so far this year. So year, scoring is trending down. I fully expect the NFL to further tweak the rules this off-season on an effort to reverse that trend.
  17. In what world is nearly 50% more yards "pretty similar"? You can keep making this argument if you want but there's nothing to support it. Lamar is an NFL MVP. Daniel Jones is a guy who sucks so bad that the Giants didn't even pick up his 5th year rookie contract option.
  18. See the substantial difference in passing TDs? And I know it triggers you badly to talk about a QB running but those numbers matter too. To compare Daniel Jones and Lamar Jackson is just straight up idiocy. No defending it.
  19. You realize you can just Google stats to avoid making insanely idiotic comments like this, right?
  20. I told my buddy to keep an eye on Richardson out of Florida. The guy is very reminiscent of the Wyoming version of Josh Allen. If Daboll thinks he can make Josh Allen out of him I could definitely see him going to get him.
  21. My good buddy who is a Giants fan is still trying to delude himself that Jones isn't the problem. Yeah, he showed decent promise as a rookie. But the guy has been trash for three straight years now, including playing for the guy who molded Josh Allen from a talented but wildly inconsistent prospect into a legit MVP caliber QB. Sorry man, Daniel Jones IS the problem. I told him, listen man I'm a Panthers fan. I have very begrudgingly become quite the expert in bad NFL QB play in recent years. I know it when I see it.
  22. Haven't been keeping up with the thread but Daniel Jones is very obviously a tremendous liability. Daboll has done a great job but that team is going nowhere until the upgrade QB.
  23. Lions lose another close game against a very good team. The post-game crew going on and on about Campbell changing the Lions' culture but this team has to find a way to start winning these very winnable games. Because right now they're a competitive team that just finds ways to lose.
