Why the Panthers NEED Sean Payton..
LinvilleGorge replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think so either. And yeah, if I was a betting man my money would be on the Chargers too. -
QB Will Levis declaring for the NFL draft
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm still floored how anyone can watch that UNC team last year and come away with being down on Howell. Without Howell I'm not sure they win any of the P5 games on their schedule. They had one guy on the team that could catch a ball in Downs. Howell, a guy who had hardly ran at all previously had to turn into The Golden Calf of Bristol for Carolina to move the ball at all. I'm with you on the Richardson intrigued. It all comes down to his interviews and background checks IMO and unfortunately that's the stuff is fans are completely blind to. -
QB Will Levis declaring for the NFL draft

I'm talking about players not teams. Both had all the physical tools you could want but turned the ball over too much and just don't seem to have a great feel for the game. -

Why I'll be done with the Panthers if Sean Payton is ever the head coach. -

The plan was to try to bullshit his way through it. I mean, he did bullshit his way into the job so... -

Tepper has absolutely no leg to stand on talking poo about anyone else on anything NFL related. -
Matt Rhule: “I wish I never took the job”
LinvilleGorge replied to CashNewton22's topic in Carolina Panthers
For everyone hoping the Panthers skewer the guy, why? We should do what Rhule should be doing. Just own the mistake and move on. Let him keep making himself look bad if he wants. We look bad enough on our own without getting in a public mud slinging match. Keep it moving. -
Matt Rhule: “I wish I never took the job”
LinvilleGorge replied to CashNewton22's topic in Carolina Panthers
This. I've been saying for months that Rhule and Nebraska were the perfect fit but watching his blame game tour I'd be rolling my eyes if I was a Nebraska fan. Look man, you got fired as an NFL coach. That poo happens. I mean, Bill Belichick got fired as an NFL coach. It's called the Not For Long League for a reason. Just suck it up, own it, say you tried your best and unfortunately it didn't work out and keep it moving. You've already landed your next gig. There's no reason to play this blame game bullshit other than to massage your own ego -

The guy who blames all of his shortcomings on everyone and everything else isn't the guy you want leading your organization. -
Hell, I've been semi checked out since Tepper bought the team and immediately cut Cam. Life is more fun when the quality of your Sunday afternoon doesn't hinge on a bad team not being bad. Just sayin'.

You bumped this dying thread for... that?

Pete Carroll is 71 years old. Does he really want to develop a rookie QB? How much longer does he plan to coach? How likely is it that a drafted rookie is better than Geno has been this year during that timeframe? I would honestly probably bet on the Seahawks sticking with Geno.

The Broncos are completely fuged for the next several years if they can't get Wilson fixed.

Remember that time Derrick Brown got on twitter....
LinvilleGorge replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
The guy won an MVP. Now the playoffs thing? Yeah, you got a point there. He's had some real stinkers in the playoffs. -

Agreed. If I was any type of public figure I'd have a firm managing my social media. Hell, I have a small business and pay someone to handle it. I don't even look at it. -

LinvilleGorge replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, you're talking about a 9 figure contract with lots of complicated clauses, structuring, guaranteed money, incentives, possible outs, etc. Thinking you can handle that unless that's what you actually do for a living with ample experience is just nuts. Surely he's going to have at least a contract attorney look over any deal he negotiated before he puts ink to paper. -

If you're a high profile athlete and want a social media presence, hire a PR form to manage it and don't even have access to the login info. Don't even look at it. Just let the PR firm do its job. -
For the record, I've always put far more blame on Mike Shula than I did Mike Remmers. Remmers was a solid RT with an Achilles heel of speed rushers. Atlanta gave us a preview in the regular season when wish.com Von Miller in Vic Beasley absolutely ate Remmers' lunch on the way to the Falcons handing us our lone regular season loss. How Shula didn't realize there was no way he could count on Remmers to hold up against Miller without help and that he'd need to on every play either help Remmers, dial up quick hitters, or roll Cam out away from Miller I have no idea. Why he didn't start doing these things at some point in the game I have no idea.

Panthers to attend UK vs Florida game today.
LinvilleGorge replied to Panthercougar68's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
Somebody is gonna have to sell me on taking a "measurables" prospect who is still raw and will be a 24 year old rookie. I just think if Levi's was the real deal he's be a lot further along in his development. -
Totally different game in the 2nd half. Colts dominate the 3rd quarter. Now lead 17-16. It should've been a 3 TD quarter for the Colts if not for a goal line fumble that led to a turnover.

5-13 for 36 yards.

Exactly. The only choices to make are RT or WR.
