  1. His iconic societal impact is undeniable, like it or not.
  2. I really want the Prime show to be a hilariously abysmal failure. The way he did those kids when he showed up on campus hasn't drawn nearly enough ire in the media. They're glossing over it.
  3. If you want to call me out you can say my name.
  4. I respect the hell out of Maye for not transferring. Very few would've chose to not take the bag and go chase a ring.
  5. Wait a minute. Nevermind. Is there anywhere I can buy tickets other than Ticketmaster? At some point we have to just start refusing to pay these utterly ridiculous "service fees". No. Sorry, I'm not paying any extra 50% in "service fees". Just not gonna do it. I'll watch from the couch if that's the only option. Event tickets have just become straight up mafia poo. Gotta pay the vig if you wanna see the gig.
  6. Yeah, Dad and I are gonna head down here in a bit. Found some decent verified resell tickets that weren't too much more than the nosebleeds still available. Turned into a big weekend. Carolina football in Charlotte tonight, Cody Jinks in Greenville tomorrow night.
  7. I'm thinking about heading down to the game. I honestly forgot that it was in Charlotte. All the tickets left are nosebleed section but whatever. Might still go.
  8. That's cool. The guy was a helluva collage player.
  9. The Darnold trade was always trash. We traded valuable assets for a proven trash QB. The Mayfield trade actually made some sense. We traded a 5th rounder for a guy who had actually had a decent season in the NFL and showed some promise as an NFL QB. No, it didn't work out but trading a 5th for Baker Mayfield was the best bad QB deal we made under Rhule and was a far better gamble than paying Teddy Bridgewater big money or trading legit assets for Sam Darnold.
  10. I remember how excited we were about our super experienced OL going into Howell's final season too. Turns out those guys were totally carried by the skill position talent around them because they sucked ass and Sam spent his final year running for his life.
  11. I never have any clue what to expect out of a UNC football season. We have a really good QB. Beyond that? Anyone's guess is as good as mine.
  12. I said it when we traded for Darnold. You can't fix panic.
  13. I think they're both better prospects than Young but that doesn't make them generational talents.
  14. Cam was a generational talent. I don't think Maye is on that level. He didn't react well last year when the staff made him dial it back with the running. His play really took a down turn. He needs to stop with the Superman diving but the staff needs to turn him loose and just let him go. Howell did better tailoring his play to what he was told to do. Hell, most UNC fans had no idea he could run until his final college season because the coaches specifically told him not to run prior to that because they didn't trust the depth behind him.
  15. I doubt you could find a single college football analyst or NFL scout who would try to argue there's more offensive talent on the UNC roster. So is that "making excuses" or is it just being honest and realistic?
  16. UNC has had elite offenses and elite defenses but it feels like a law of the universe that when we have an elite O or D it has to be paired with an all-time atrocious unit on the other side of the ball. We could really do some damage with just a middle of the pack average defense.
  17. If I was betting on who will have the best year in college football I'd bet on Caleb. But that doesn't mean he's the most talented, I think he's on the better offensive roster.
  18. Take Howell and Maye off of the last two UNC rosters and we're sub-.500. We have been winning games we shouldn't be expected to win. Take Howell/Maye and Downs off of the last two rosters and it probably looks Bunting era bad.
  19. I don't think UNC is beating Clemson even with prime Cam Newton. There's just an enormous gulf of talent. Caleb has proven he cal play great in two conferences where he's on the best roster in the conference. Big difference.
  20. Clemson's backups could probably win the conference. It just is what it is. In terms of overall roster talent they're just a lot better than everyone else.
  21. Our defense was atrocious last year and the loss of Josh Downs at WR is pretty significant. Put Maye on USC and there's no debate over who's the best QB in college football.
  22. That clip of him berating one of his HS WR teammates he just came across as the cockiest arrogant dickhead imaginable. I hope he's grown from that. Maybe the experience of getting benched at OU and having to transfer to SCar and not exactly setting the world on fire there has brought with it a dose of humility.
  23. At this point you have to change the name of the conference. You can't have an Atlantic Coast Conference with two California teams and a Texas team. That just doesn't make any sense. Keep the ACC moniker if you want. Change the name to America Collegiate Conference or whatever you want but it can't be the Atlantic Coast Conference anymore.
  24. I honestly think that Rhule's "scruffy" look appealed to Tepper. Hey, Belichick dresses like a bum maybe if I hire someone who dresses like a bum too he'll be a good coach! Now with that said, I think formal wear is one of the dumber things about human society. Like look at me, you know that I'm a super serious person because why else would I be wearing this uncomfortable ridiculous looking thing around my neck and wearing pants and a jacket in 90 degree heat? Dumb.
  25. Yeah, he's shown he can get programs out of the gutter and back to respectability. He hasn't shown that he can actually take the next step and actually start beating good teams and build an actual contender at the national level.
