Push To The Superbowl Panthers Lions GameDay Thread

I don't know if the Lions are embarrassed with the first half effort but they should be. Their effort level on D has been pathetic. -

The Lions are playing soft today. They are noticeably shying away from contact. -
Watching Zach Wilson play reminds me EXACTLY of Corral

Cam and Jake were both gamers who always looked better on Sundays than they did in practice or preseason. Hell, Jake usually looked like a rookie UDFA who wouldn't make it past first cuts in camp. -
Good on you for hooking up a fellow Panthers fan. With that said, you'd have to pay me good money to go to this game. Hopefully someone will bundle up and take them.

It's amazing to me how Panthers fans try to talk themselves out of taking a QB every year and then inevitably bitch about our sorry QB play every year. You know what a highly drafted QB definitely does? It gives you some hope. At least briefly. Isn't everyone ready for SOMETHING to be hopeful about with the Carolina Panthers?

I have this Houston bowl game on in the background while I get poo done around the house and I'm not exaggerating when I say there might be a few dozen fans in attendance. They just showed a wide shot of the stands and now I know why it seemed like they had been avoiding doing that. The sea of aluminum was blinding.

Of course it is. But it's still by far your best bet of finding a franchise QB. They almost never hit free agency unless there are significant injury concerns. Trading for them is still a crap shoot, just ask the Denver Broncos. At least if you're drafting them you're not taking a salary cap beating.

Yeah, Corral looked awful in preseason. Yeah, Rhule and company likely did a horrible job developing him. We'll have to see how he looks next year but we're crazy if we make any draft or roster decisions based on Matt Corral. If we think a franchise QB is available we need to go get him. If Corral balls out, awesome. If he's a total flop, oh well. Make the roster moves so that either way or anything in between we've prepared for. -

There's very well a connection there. I can't imagine he's very coachable or does much if any self reflection about his play and how to improve it. Darnold has the same mental problem in that his brain just doesn't function like a QB. But he's developing into a decent game manager and very well may end up having a long career as a backup because he's willing to be that game manager and he has a good attitude and he's a good guy in the locker room. He's becoming everything you want in a vet backup. Now do Zach Wilson... -

He definitely has some strange movements and mannerisms and sounds like Kermit the Frog, but damn the dude can flat out play. -

Really? I've always thought Mahomes looks small out there. Doesn't matter. Dude's a straight baller. -

Wilson is a prime example that you can't fix what's between the ears. The guy has legit top tier physical talent but he doesn't have a QB's mind. You can't fix it. -
Yep. Whiffing on a 1st round pick sucks but it's not the end of the world. Doubling down on a mistake just continues to set you back further. Kinda like not firing Matt Rhule at the conclusion of last season.

Yeah, neither has a QB. But the Giants look to have a legit coach now and might just be a QB away from making some real noise. Then again "just a QB away" is still a long way away given it's the hardest roster piece to find. Still, they look to have something to work with as an organization.

Well, that was fun while it lasted. At least the Jets finally did SOMETHING on offense.
