REPORT: Panthers interested in Khalil Mack
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It would have to be a Clowney type situation where the contract is very reasonable. Otherwise it doesn't make much sense for this team to be pursuing guys in the mid-30s. We need legit building blocks not bandaids on their last legs. These types of guys generally sign for contenders because the goals align. The contender wants a boost to get over the hump and the aging vet wants a chance at a ring and a stable organization, he's done with all the BS and drama. -
Damn. That's awesome. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/rams-matthew-stafford-sends-signed-lions-jersey-to-fan-who-sold-his-for-playoff-tickets/

So the Dallas Mavericks have completely lost their minds

Bingo. Even if you want to sell you want to get a good price. They just sold Manhattan real estate at a Charlotte price. -

I could see it. I mean, if it's true that the Lakers initiated the conversation let's just play this out. News broke well into Friday evening. This honest to god feels like something where the Lakers' GM is throwing down beers with buddies and they hype him up to make the wildest trade offer he can think up just because fug it, why not? HOLY FUG THEY ACTUALLY SAID YES!!!! LOLOLOLOL -

Look what they posted literally hours before trading Luka. Hot damn, what a kick in the nuts for Mavs fans. LOLOLOL https://www.facebook.com/dallasmavs/videos/1654022895200717/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v -

If you were entertaining trading him why not put him on the auction block? You would've definitely got way better offers than that. I mean, if you're going to trade with the Lakers at least demand a decent young building block back from them like Dalton Knecht or SOMETHING. This is just baffling unless the league brass knows something about Doncic that drastically reduces his value. Something off the court or some underlying injury issue that is going to cut his prime short or something. Because this just flat out doesn't make sense. -
When we don't turn it over, yes. We try pretty hard to just turn it over for uncontested breakaway dunks though and we're pretty good at it.

If he ever loved Carolina basketball he has to realize he ain't it. It just keeps getting worse. We look like an unorganized intramural team out there. No semblance of coaching or running an actual system. Just guys out there winging it the best they can.

I gotta give Hubert Davis credit for one thing. He's achieved what I thought was impossible for me. He's made Tar Heel basketball unwatchable. I'm just over watching our opponents run actual offense while our offense is one guy dribbling the leather off the ball while everyone else just stands around and then we just have to jack up a bad shot at the end of the shot clock on the off chance that we don't turn it over in the meantime.

He really liked DJ Moore and Jalen Coker too. Nobody bats 1.000.

I think Jack Sawyer is gonna be a player and I think he fits Dan Morgan's "dawg mentality". I'm not saying he's going to be a star but I'll be surprised if he's not at least a solid starter in the league.

BREAKING: Adam Thielen Not retiring…
LinvilleGorge replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good. -
Yeah, but here in the south I really don't think it matters. It matters up north when they get a long hard freeze all winter. The south side of the tree is going to warm up and start flowing first. I just don't think we get cold enough long enough for it to really matter.

I'm still at it. This batch is about done. It's syrup at 219. Once it starts climbing above the boiling temp of water it happens fast. This is what 10 gallons of sap boils down to. Got some more sap boiling down on the turkey fryer in the deck. Got about 20 gallons of sap still to go. Taking advantage of this warm spells to do some boiling. Hope we get at least one more nice cold snap. It's on the back side of these cold snaps that the maples really start flowing.

I don't think it's that he wasn't supposed to play as a rookie more so that he wasn't expected to be a starter much less being the QB of the defense wearing the helmet with the headset. But ultimately that experienice will only help moving forward.

Uncanny valley vibes.

Kingsbury may fancy himself as the next Ben Johnson. Not so sure about that.
-
He was damn good in college and checked all the prototype boxes but I never bought into him being the next Andrew Luck type prospect like he was hyped. We'll see what Arch does but yeah, not beating out Ewers isn't a good look. I get it as a true freshman but as a sophomore? If he was what he's hyped as that should've been a done deal.

Prime Cam Newton vs Current Josh Allen

Where did I mention race? If that triggered you into going on a racial tangent that's on you. -
Prime Cam Newton vs Current Josh Allen
LinvilleGorge replied to Panther8989's topic in Carolina Panthers
We all know how he injured his shoulder and then that TJ Watt finished it off. My point is that Cam's career was cut short because of injuries that impacted his ability as a passer while his running ability was largely unimpacted. Yet many people still want to label him a "running QB". All those people spent his entire career talking about how his career would be cut short because they figured he'd be like a RB. All the wear and tear would impact his ability to run and then he'd be done yet lo and behold his career was cut short because his throwing ability but those folks don't want to acknowledge any of that. Just like they don't want to acknowledge that he was a high 60s percentage passer in an offensive system that wasn't constantly requiring him to throw the ball downfield to receivers who couldn't separate. Then they just start ranting and calling you a troll if you point these things out. LOL -

How arrogant does a person have to be to view a differing opinion as trolling? I just explained to you what you were missing and then you threw a fit because you didn't like it. -
Prime Cam Newton vs Current Josh Allen
LinvilleGorge replied to Panther8989's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not baiting and I'm not cherry picking. He played in two entirely different offensive systems and posted two entirely different completion percentages in those systems and I tried to explain why that was and now you're just ranting. If Cam was a "running QB" then why did his career get cut short by a throwing shoulder injury that impacted his ability to throw but not to run? Answer me that. -

Just say you don't like Cam. It's fine. But don't quote the stats then start moving the goal posts to dismiss the ones that don't fit the narrative.
