Oh god, is this the worst rule in football happening again?

Chinn has to step up in coverage with Horn down
LinvilleGorge replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep, between injuries and not figuring out how to beat utilize him we never really realized how good he was until well into his career. It was actually very reminiscent of Chinn in that he played really well as a rookie in sort of a hybrid role then this happened. I hope we don't waste most of Chinns career. If we can't figure it out, trade him and let someone else have a crack at it. Just be prepared for the "I can't believe we traded Chinn" threads for years. The guy can play but with our coaching turnover, system changes, and position changes the guy can't get anything going -
Yeah, I was thinking that the first star QB that gets stood up and sandwiched and ultimately injured because of that will probably trigger them to take action against it.

Yeah, a lot of folks are overlooking that the guy is playing his third position in as many seasons. Playing him as a deep FS was just absolutely baffling though. -
Philly starting to get rolling. Based on how this game has been going, that means it's probably turnover time.
-
Oof. That DB is not gonna enjoy watching that play in film study.
-
Based on what I've seen out of OL play early on this season the whole damn league is gonna have to go west coast offense or these QBs are all gonna end up on IR.

This is turning into what a Rhule Nebraska intrasquad scrimmage must look like.
-
The way Hurts' foot stuck in the ground and how he reacted putting his head to the ground like that I thought he'd blown his knee out for a second.
-
What a turnover fest this has turned into.
-
It's inexcusable for them not to get that issue addressed during the game.

Pitts is a TE in name only. The guy is a jumbo slot WR. -

Chinn is a LB/S hybrid. He's not making up for losing our #1 CB. We were already thin at CB. I get that Pitts is listed as a TE but lets be honest, he's a jumbo WR. He's a matchup nightmare. There are very few safeties and even fewer LBs that aren't going to be significantly overmatched by him one on one.- 44 replies

Awfully confident in that while being a fan of a team with a terrible history st WR. Through our history, what has been harder to find for us pass rushers it WRs? But look, in a vacuum I agree. It's easier to find DJ Moore caliber WRs than it is to find Brian Burns caliber pass rushers. But you're mortgaging the future of your franchise on a huge trade up to get a QB. What's going to help ease that QB into the game and help his development, your only proven legit WR or a pass rusher?
-
We have one proven healthy one in Thielen. We have another injured one that we're hoping can suit up for a few games. We have two others were hoping will develop in TMJ and Mingo. Then we have a gadget guy in Shenault. No, the receiver room isn't good and that's exactly why I was so baffled that we traded our best WR. I would've seen if I could've gotten the Bears to bite on Burns, #9, and maybe a 2nd instead of an additional 1st.

We drafted a QB who is supposed to be a "super processor" and be able to spread the ball around. We don't need this mythical beast of a Huddle approved "#1 WR". We just need competent, legit NFL WRs.

This really JC Horn's burner Twitter account though?
LinvilleGorge replied to PantherFanInPhilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
Who knows? What I do know though is that any high profile public person should just steer way clear of any and all social media and just pay a PR firm to run accounts on their behalf. -
The NFL couldn't possibly care less about who wins the Heisman. Hell, the honestly don't care about stats. It's all about projection to the NFL level. Williams has some very intriguing tools for sure, but how long he holds the ball is going to really get dissected by NFL talent evaluators. Can he speed up his processing? If he can't, he's not gonna translate.
-
People were saying the same about Spencer Rattler.
-
It's far from guaranteed that Caleb Williams will be the #1 overall pick. With how long he holds the ball and already talking about trying to call his own shots about the team he goes to the red flags are starting to fly.
-
I don't think I've ever said either has "star potential".
-
You are so obsessed with "stars". Hell, we're just looking for competent NFL players.

Brown is a beast. And Burns would probably lead the league in sacks if he didn't have so many blow bys. Seems like several times every game he just comes screaming through the pocket without laying a hand on the QB. I wish he could find a way to throttle down and find the QB after getting by the block. Just watch the difference when Brown obliterates the blocker. Beats the block, quickly reassesses and resets and gets after the QB. It's like once Burns is on his trajectory there's no changing it.
-
I mean, it's the Bears and QBs. Whoever they pick is gonna suck. It's like a law of the universe. The Bears and Jets have to suck at QB.

This is his make or break year. If he doesn't show something this year it's time to cut bait and move on.
