  1. I definitely don't think a player in his situation would ever consider tanking his play on purpose. I mean, there was virtually no market for him to get out of Cleveland. He couldn't afford for his stock to go down even more. Based on his play in L.A. and Darnolds okay here post-Rhule I honestly think Rhule needs to never have any input on an offense ever again.
  2. Tepper. The season was sunk when he didn't fire Rhule. Mayfield went to L.A. and looked a lot better immediately. Darnold looked a lot better post-Rhule. I'm basically giving the players a pass this year.
  3. This. If you take a swing there and land a franchise QB you got a massive steal. If he ends up being a decent backup it's still a pretty good pick. If he's an outright bust it still doesn't hurt you all that bad vs. typical 3rd round pick expectations. If you think there's a chance the guy is a starting QB the pick is well worth the risk.
  4. Not saying there wasn't a lot of bullshit around that Kaepernick situation but also barely a month after he opted out of his 49ers contract... https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/49ers/source-kap-not-willing-take-broncos-current-pay-cut-offer I probably wouldn't even know about this had I not been living in CO at the time.
  5. I think Carr will try to find him a much better landing spot than ATL. I wouldn't be surprised to see him suiting up for the Giants.
  6. I'm not surprised. The cloud of CTE still hangs over the NFL. They don't need a new version of that. If they can potentially deflect away from this being an artifact of the game they play I fully expect them to do that.
  7. Super possible. I don't think they go into next season with Ridder penciled in at starter. Does that mean draft? FA? Trade? Who knows? But yeah, taking a QB in the 1st round is definitely very possible for them.
  8. It's just never called so it might as well not exist. It'll be like the change in focus on illegal contact by the defense. Yeah, it was always there but if the flags don't fly then does it actually matter?
  9. Yeah, blaming that kid is beyond dumb. I do think this incident will likely lead to rule changes regarding offensive players leading with the helmet though. But that's no reason to blame Tee Higgins for doing something that is a legal play under the current rules and happens dozens of times in every football game at every level.
  10. Ron and hard headed "muh vets" depth chart decisions have certainly been a constant of his head coaching career.
  11. Yes, there's that too. His favorite players tend to follow a common theme.
  12. Why don't you just go back to bashing Brian Burns every other post? Every fanbase would be much better off without fans like you. You're the embodiment of the fan that other fanbases point at to mock a particular fanbase. Why did you even bother clicking on this thread? The topic clearly didn't interest you. It clearly didn't pertain to you. You're just poo posting. I mean it's extremely on brand for you but don't act like you're some superior fan when you're just a dime a dozen poo poster.
  13. Might not want to call people treasonous pieces of excrement over which irrelevant playoff eliminated football team they plan to watch this weekend when you've openly supported an honest to god real life treasonous piece of excrement all over this forum. Then again, considering the fact that you make an average dog seem like Stephen Hawking in comparison, it's not surprising this would've escaped your comprehension.
  14. We'll see. We've had other DEs that made big jumps in year three
  15. I think our history of making atrocious second round picks really skews Panthers' fans concept of value of 2nd round picks. Most teams are getting good players there.
  16. I should clarify here that I'm a fan of Burns. I think he's good and I think he has the potential to be great. He might already be great in a different defensive system. I'm just saying if I could time travel I'd go back and take that deal.
  17. 27th in hurries, 31st in QB hits, 17th in pressures. He's good. We've been hoping he'll take the step to greatness. You ready to pay him for greatness before it happens? Plenty of players tail off after the comfort of getting paid. Hindsight being 20/20, yeah I take those picks. The main reason I defended turning them down is because I thought he was on the verge of taking that step. But then he was completely MIA vs. the Bucs in a game where we were highly competitive fighting for our playoff lives and Brady was lighting us up with deep routes that take time to develop. It's exactly these scenarios where elite pass rushers are supposed to shine and make the difference.
  18. Where all those posters now trying to say we were jumping to conclusions? Ah, Joe Buck was just spouting off and misspoke. He said it FOUR times. He didn't misspeak. He came out later and verified he was told this by someone in direct contact with the NFL office and certain posters still wanted to try to cover for the NFL. Well, what now?
  19. I defended turning the offer down at the time but honestly it was a great offer for a good player who we're gonna have to pay like a great player in a re-signing. Yeah... we should've taken the offer.
  20. For sure. He isn't a starter but he's a quality backup and part of being a quality backup is being a great guy in the locker room.
  21. Is any Panthers fan surprised by this?
  22. Well, I guess I know what game I'm watching on Sunday.
  23. Yeah, that guy definitely never grew up around some barnyard roosters. We'll see who's weak and nervous alright.
  24. There's literally zero chance Harbaugh doesn't follow some weird fringe fad diet. He just seems like that type of guy. He probably eats a carnivore diet or something wild like that. They'll probably sit around an open fire spit roasting emu legs or something.
