  1. You'd drop all your 3rd down passes if you knew the punter was gonna muff it right into your gunner's arms.
  2. Dallas is just melting down. First the punter fumbles now the punt returner has fumbled.
  3. Ouch. McLaurin with a brutal drop on 3rd down.
  4. The time is Howell. 1/1 for 16 yards and a TD.
  5. I'd call the Bears about #2 but I expect the price to be STEEP. You can only make that trade if you're willing to bet your career on that guy being a future HOFer. I'm for rolling the dice on Anthony Richardson at #9. Yeah, he's boom or bust. So sign Darnold as the backup so you don't have to play him until he's ready. Then you roll him out there and see if he booms or busts. If it's the latter, go get Drake Maye.
  6. Hey, the Panthers win another late season game that does nothing but cost us draft position. YAY TEAM!!!
  7. We actually are. We want to get better. You have to be absolutely lizard brained to not comprehend that winning games to cost yourself draft position once out of the playoff race is literally in opposition of the team's future best interests.
  8. For sure one. The Falcons have the Bucs beat. If we lose we're at #8. Potentially two. We'd be at #7 if the Rams beat the Seahawks.
  9. Embrace the suck. This needs to happen. Lose and have the Falcons hang on and we're drafting #8. As high as #7 if the Rams can beat the Seahawks later today. EMBRACE THE SUCK. It's for the best.
  10. Just a brain dead mantra of every win is a good win and the brain dead perspective that mantra makes you a better fan. From the perspective of the players, coaches, front office personnel, etc I get it. They have jobs to protect. But from the fan perspective, there comes a point that there is an actual real future competitive disadvantage to winning and that point is when you realize you're not a contender. It's what sucks about pro sports fandom. In college, there's never a competitive advantage to losing unless you're desperately wanting a coach change. You always want to win. That's just not the case in the pros with the way the draft order works.
  11. Scheme has a lot to do with it. We've basically been running the simplest, most pared down offensive concepts we can get away with. But yeah, we could certainly use a better WR opposite DJ and an actual NFL caliber TE.
  12. It sucks when really decent good guys aren't the answer. Steve Wilks seems like a great guy. Sam Darnold seems like a great guy. But they aren't the answers. If you want to compete for SBs you have to move on. Keep Darnold as a backup if we can, but there are no backup head coaches and with his support in the locker room you simply can't keep him on the staff. It sucks, but we have to wish him all the best and mean it and let Steve Wilks go.
  13. I have no idea what's going to happen but I don't put it outside the realm of possibility.
  14. Now imagine that intrigue being derailed by a presser introducing Wilks as the head coach moving forward and him waxing poetically about how McAdoo and Darnold proved down the stretch that they are the answers on offense. McAdoo will be his OC and Darnold is signed to new three year deal to be our franchise QB.
  15. Having your franchise QB on the roster changes everything in terms of hope.
  16. From a roster standpoint we're closer to being ready to compete than we have been for a long time. If you don't believe me, imagine Cam in his prime on this roster. What's your expectations? You expect to be a contender. We need a coach and a QB. Sticking with Wilks will just waste time and the opportunity of having multiple Young studs at key positions still on rookie contracts. Wilks ain't it. He stabilized the locker room and the players love him. Awesome. That was needed in moving on from the dumpster fire that was Matt Rhule. But from an Xs and Os standpoint? Significant issues. And don't forget, he's a defensive guy and the D got worse after he fired Phil Snow. Even more pointed, he's a secondary specialist and yet we couldn't adapt to Mike Evans simply running go routes to torch us. The improvements came on the offensive side of the ball where we focused on running the ball and not turning the ball over. Thrilling. Wilks was the right man for the task at hand. He's not the right man for the task ahead.
  17. This would be stunning. One of the hottest candidates on the market is seemingly basically begging to coach the Panthers and Tepper is like...
  18. Does Sean Payton think Russell Wilson is fixable? Because if he doesn't he ain't taking that job.
  19. Build stadium on the Vegas strip, one of the biggest tourist traps in the world and a place folks from Vegas generally avoid like the plague then complain about opposing fans. Oh and surrounding Vegas for 100+ miles in every direction is basically desolate desert. Not exactly gonna be fans day tripping it from elsewhere to catch a game. Putting a team in Vegas will likely be profitable. Tourists and convention goers will attend games just to attend an NFL game. But I don't think it's very conducive to building an actual thriving local fanbase. He doesn't actually give a fug. All the money is green and spends the same.
  20. Being competitive tomorrow means Wilks might stay. We need to get our asses kicked. These things matter and it's why I actively root for us to lose as soon an it's evident that we're not contenders. That's the unfortunate reality of pro sports fandoms. If you're not a contender you're better off losing.
  21. I like Wilks and I wish he was the answer but I just don't think he is. Please Saints, do us a massive favor and blast us by three TDs tomorrow.
