  1. Yep. SB50 and opening day of 2016 forever altered my view of NFL officiating. Blows to the head of the QB was supposed to be THE focus for refs that year. There was quite a bit of uproar in the immediate aftermath of SB50 about the uncalled blatantly illegal hits on Cam. The NFL had to see it. You would've expected those officials to have gotten reamed and face some repercussions even if they weren't made public. But the fact that the same damn thing happened a few months later shows there was no such readings or repercussions and evidently the NFL was perfectly fine with the way things transpired.
  2. The value of players on cheap rookie contracts is real. You're going to have to pay Burns big $$$. Rookies have way lower cap hits.
  3. Honestly... I doubt Burns and #9 would get you #1.
  4. Williams looks like a stud but my concern with him translating to the NFL is he holds onto the ball forever. His average time to throw last year would've ranked near dead last amongst NFL QBs. That won't translate. He's gonna have to speed up his decision making.
  5. I honestly wouldn't be either but I have no idea if that's something Reich would consider or Tepper would sign off on. I have no clue how he was perceived within the organization.
  6. I don't know about any conspiracies or game fixing, all I know is that I saw two extremely poorly officiated games yesterday with the home town teams getting some serious home town cooking. If the NFL would ever actually hold officials accountable for atrocious performances it would go a long way toward dispelling with the tin foil.
  7. Big fan of both QBs. They're the two most fun to watch QBs in the league right now IMO. The officiating was trash and slanted towards KC. It just was.
  8. If that was the only bad call in the game I'd agree.
  9. We watched Cam Newton's head get treated like a piñata during SB50 when blows to the head of a QB was the point of emphasis that year. Then, just to prove a point, we watched the same thing happen again on opening day of 2016. There won't be any consequences. There never are.
  10. Wife of the replay official of SB50 with the head ref of SB50. Replay official lived in Denver and was well known to be a huge Broncos fan.
  11. How can basketball be rigged anymore easily than football? Biased officiating can easily sway outcomes in virtually every sport.
  12. It was both. It happened in SB50 and then again in the 2016 opener.
  13. David Tepper is smarter than everyone else and he cuts the checks. That seems to be his mindset.
  14. We interviewed him weeks ago not as a HC candidate but as a DC candidate. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/panthers-interview-vic-fangio Lots of us questioned at the time why in the world we'd be talking to guys about coordinator positions when we didn't have a HC.
  15. Long term, I agree. Then again, do the Broncos beat us at SB50 minus Waxe Phillips?
  16. I don't disagree, but what does that have to do with the repeated spearings to Cam's helmet in the very year that blows to the head of a QB was THE point of emphasis?
  17. Sometimes the best argument against game fixing is that if you were going to fix a game you wouldn't make it THAT obvious.
  18. You can only do so much to overcome the Cowboys' choking. When you have Dak spraying the ball around like a kid at the carnival, what can you really do? I mean, the Steelers do have six rings.
  19. Today was the worst day for NFL officiating since SB50.
