He got better this year. But he was still overall bad. It's about the incredibly low physical ceiling he has.
-
I don't think think anyone is actively rooting against him. Okay, maybe some. But Bryce seems like a really good dude. I don't see you anyone could view the person negatively. But this ain't about that. This is about whether or not we truly think we can compete for SBs with Bryce Young at QB. I don't. Especially if you give him a legit starting QB contract.
-
Here's the reality of the situation, Bryce's "development" led to him having these rankings in his third season... Passing yardage: 21st TDs: 16th INTs: tied for 6th most in the league Completion percentage: 24th Yards per attempt: 34th Passer rating: 30th QBR: 26th There's just no way to objectively look at the production and conclude anything other than he is an overall well below average NFL starting QB. We're not talking about a down year here. We're talking about people wanting to hang their hat on this as some sign that he's the answer when the numbers are absolutely screaming the opposite. The difference with any of these vet QB names being thrown around is that no one is pitching these guys as the answer. If they turned out to be a la Jake Delhomme that'd be awesome but I haven't seen anyone trying to sell that as a likely scenario. We just want viable competition at the most important position in the game.

LOL

Point them out. Like I said, don't worry. I'll wait. Literally no one is doing for Howell what PFF is doing for Bryce. I'd know. I'm president of the fan club.
-
PFF literally invents metrics to paint Bryce as an elite QB. Who's doing that for Howell?
-
It's reality. Where is anyone arguing to bring in Howell as the undisputed answer to our QB issues? Don't worry, I'll wait.
-
It's a metric defined by trying to cash big time Tepper checks. LOL
-
You're delusional. I'm the biggest Howell cheerleader here and all of us are just saying to bring him in because A) he'd be dirt cheap and B) he has more talent than Bryce. That's it, that's all.
-
It means that some PFFers got hired by Tepper and the rest are desperately trying to get on the payroll too.
-
PFF has lost any credibility they ever had over this Bryce Young thing. Yeah, I get it, Trpper hired some of y'all and the rest of y'all are chasing that check too but at what cost? If you ruin your credibility in the process it's over. And it's over.

BREAKING: Panthers adding to coaching staff

Being the OC for a HC that calls the offense is like being Brett Favre's backup QB. You're literally getting paid for nothing. Sweet gig. Y'all hirin'? -

Well, I mean it's Hubert... Anyone expecting that part to change is in for disappointment.
-
No, I definitely picked up on the dumbness. LOL
-
You might be dumb. 26-7 with Forte became 8-20 without Forte.
-
Stupid is rewarding no effort with playing time. If you don't wanna play hard, take a seat.
-
Too many? Hell, I would've played the damn walk ons tonight. I would've found somebody on that bench that wanted to play hard.
-
You expect a bit of a hangover after a game like that but tonight level of effort was just embarrassingly pathetic. They just flat put won on pure effort. Out-rebounded, doubled up at the FT line, damn near doubled up on points in the paint, gave up an entire season's worth of alley-oops in one game, never led once, and if they kept a loose balls state I bet they outdid us 5:1. Losing a game because the other team just flat put worked circles around you just isn't acceptable.
-
Howell is obviously my preference but I wouldn't mind Mariota or Trubisky if we want to go the more established vet backup type guy. We just have to realize that we need to sign someone who might make Bryce look bad in camp by comparison. It is what it is.

Yeah, the thing with Darnold is he definitely has that ability to spiral. If things go poorly for him early oh boy, look out. It could be one of "those days". One of his first throws of the game very easily could've been a pick six. If that had gone down it might've been interesting. At some point, the Pats may have gotten a running game going but they failed to early and got in a situation where they had to start chasing points and had to abandon the run. -

And Sam made some throws early on where he could have. LOL -
Who is going to take a shot at Malik Willis

Saints? Super Bowl? Just can't see that happening. But, I would've said the same thing about the Seahawks and definitely the Patriots this time last year too.
