  1. Daniel Jones is a good backup/marginal starter type. You are absolutely hamstringing yourself if you give him give money.
  2. I hope not. For one, I like Carr. For two, it gives the Saints a significant leg up in the division. If it happens, I hope it's via trade that strips the Saints if significant assets.
  3. Here's my concern. Most of the guys significantly older benefitting from an extra COVID year make big leaps. They look like men amongst boys in terms of their poise and polish. Bennett, Pickett, Hooker... big leaps in production and they looked very polished and poised out there. Levis didn't. Levis still looks like a raw prospect. If he was a redshirt sophomore with only one year of starting experience I'd view him much differently. But unfortunately, he's a super senior who will be 24 when he puts on an NFL jersey and he looks like a 20 year old redshirt sophomore on the field. I feel like a lot of folks bought into the Levis hype after last year just assuming he's make a big leap this year and when he didn't they didn't adjust their opinions. Well, we like the tools so we'll just ignore that he didn't look a bit better this year and arguably regressed.
  4. If Young was 3" taller and 30 pounds heavier I'd confidently say Young. But he's not so it's a debate. Honestly, I'd probably draft Stroud. Young's size scares me. I just really struggle seeing him hold up to NFL hits. Maybe it's because of watching former Bama QB get ragdolled and concussed repeatedly.
  5. Who knows? I'm very aware that we're only getting one side of the story here. Assuming everything you've said here is a fair representation they may have felt there was little chance of this sell closing and with you already showing signs of being dissatisfied and talking about firing them it was best to just cut bait and walk away not wasting anymore time and resources on this.
  6. The trades in this simulator are insane. Like stuff Marty Hurney wouldn't even consider no matter how delicious the meatballs.
  7. Oh, Hurts is definitely in that conversation too. I'm just saying it's far from trollish to argue that Stafford is the best QB in the NFC. It's not a crazy suggestion.
  8. What in the world did those trades look like to end up with #5 and #13?
  9. I mean, Stafford was hurt this year but is only a year removed from throwing for nearly 5000 yards and 40+ TDs on the way to winning a Super Bowl. It's definitely not a stretch to argue for him as the NFC's best QB.
  10. It's just being factual. They were #22 preseason in the AP poll and #23 in the coaches' poll.
  11. I think a lot of folks forget that Auburn was a borderline top 25 team preseason that year. They were supposed to be a decent team but no one expected them to even be in the national championship conversation.
  12. Oh, there are a ton of people who bought during the pandemic in overheated areas that are currently underwater.
  13. I've been driving the year to AR, no to Levis train for awhile now. If we pick Levis I'll just hope I'm wrong and root like hell for him.
  14. It's going to be interesting to watch real estate over the next few years. A lot of areas were highly overvalued and are taking a beating (SF bay area, Austin, Denver, etc). Beyond the immediate future it'll be interesting if more remote work opportunities lead to more dispersal of wealth. I mean, if you don't have to live in one of these areas of crushing cost of living and soul sucking crowds and traffic you can get a lot more bang for your buck by moving. I sold my 2000 square foot home on 3/4 of an acre in CO and moved back to western NC and bought a much nicer 3000 square foot home on 12 acres for roughly half of what I sold the CO home for.
  15. Well, no poo. They had a 7th round rookie play well and they still have a guy they mortgaged the future of their franchise to draft. It's not like they're gonna bring Jimmy back as a 3rd stringer. As for us bringing in Jimmy G? Please god no.
  16. If a team is willing to part ways with a franchise QB in his prime, red flags need to be flying. If Lamar was a FA, I'd be all about it. But he's not. You're gonna have to trade a king's ransom plus give up a HUGE contract. How is that working out for the two teams that did that this past off-season? One is drafting in the top 5 and the other is drafting just a couple of spots behind us. They both suck and they have limited assets to improve due to the deals they made to get their QBs.
  17. It doesn't do poo other than make it awkward for a HC to hire the guys that HE wants to hire. You shouldn't be hiring a guy at HC if you think he needs help choosing his coordinators. It's just dumb. If you think a guy can't handle hiring his own coordinators then he should NOT be your HC.
  18. They're the new Bama. Smart is the new Saban. They're killing it. I'm a huge UNC fan but I admit, Drake Maye should've taken that bag. He wins the Heisman and the national championship next year if he did.
  19. Coaches hire their coordinators in a normal NFL environment. It's idiotic to interview guys for coordinator positions before you hire a head coach. Period.
  20. Yeah, UGA was head and shoulders the most talented team in the country this year. Second place was barely in the rearview.
  21. Interviewing coordinators before you have a HC is just dumb.
  22. I think he's just looking for the maximum check. This next gig is his retirement gig.
  23. I'm not saying they're getting over the hump but they're still one of the top teams in the NFC and Dak is still one if the top QBs in the NFC. The NFC is way light on overall QB talent vs. the AFC.
  24. Like it or not, the Cowboys were one of the top teams in the NFC. The Giants were decent despite being mediocre at QB. The Commanders would've been a playoff team had Ron not stuck to muh vets for as long as he did.
  25. The Eagles and the NFC East are setup to dominate the conference for years.
