Go do a deep dive on his stats and honestly tell me of you think this is a positive comp for a 1st round pick, much less a #1 overall pick. If we're being honest, no one remembers Doug Flutie's name as an NFL QB if he's 6'3" 220. We'd still remember the Miracle in Miami at Boston College, but the NFL? Nah. His best two seasons, Buffalo was a very good rushing offense and a pretty sorry passing offense. When he went 10-5 in '99 the Bills had the #2 defense in points allowed in the NFL. If Doug Flutie is your argument... oh wee mayne.

I honestly agree with the premise of the thread. Yeah, the SEC is the best college football conference. But are they THAT much better than everyone else? Honestly I don't think so. Yeah, Bama and UGA are both top 4 programs. Bama, UGA, OSU, and Clemson just stand head and shoulders above the pack right now year in and year out. But is the rest of the rank and file SEC teams really that much better than everyone else? Honestly, I don't see it. I just think the likes of Ole Miss and Arkansas and the like enjoy chatting "SEC! SEC! SEC!" just to ride the coattails of their actually successful conference brethren.

I mean, LT was a damn savage so when he immediately pops up and starts waving for the Redskins' medical staff instead of celebrating you KNOW it's bad.

I don't think he's solely talking about injuries though. He's also talking about being able to effectively play the game at the NFL level at that size. Yeah, it can be done. But yeah, you've gotta be REALLY damn good and really creative to make up for the physical shortcomings. I mean, Smitty was a dominate outside #1 NFL WR at 5'9" but who else is there that fits that mold? You're kinda talking about a one of one type situation. That's what we need Bryce Young to be. One of one. Yeah, that's a big ask. That's what Parcells is getting at.

Oh, they're absolutely to focus on getting pressure in his face. That's what LSU did last year that really put him off his game. Not a lot of outside blitzes or really even seemingly focused on sacking him. Just a lot of contain on the edges and heavy pressure up the middle to force him to see over the blitz and limit his throwing lanes. It worked pretty damn well.

Parcells isn't exactly wrong but he's likely swayed by his experience as a coach. That was a different era with virtually no QB protections. He's probably imagining Lawrence Taylor coming screaming around the corner and straight up choke slamming him and now he's gotta attend a funeral.

Filling it in ain't gonna be cheap either and then you don't have a pool.

Get some actual water tests done to figure out exactly what you need. If the water is beyond salvage you can always pump and refill it rather than simply filling it in.

Smart agents would be having these kids take the test beforehand so they know how they'll do on it. If they're gonna bomb, simply decline. Better to have teams guessing how bad you'd do compared to showing them exactly how bad.

I don't know, but the vibrations from watching our terrible QB play in recent years certainly still reverberate on my nightmares. That opens a whole new conversation about how string theory interacts with consciousness.

Wonderlic and S2 are very different. Wonderlic is basically general intelligence. There's a timed aspect but it's not the primary focus. S2 is all about processing speed. I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't some decent correlation between the two but they measure pretty different mental abilities. But yeah, intelligence isn't the end all be all. I doubt Einstein would've made much of a QB.

Yeah. Very well could be leaked by the Texans or some other top team to prep their fanbase for passing on him. Who knows?
