  1. The suit is about that the money should've been available. Probably a LOT. Honestly, it would probably be the end of the NCAA and if that's the case then good riddance.
  2. Honestly, I can understand the case for prior revenue sports stars. Chuba ran for over 2000 yards in a season at Oklahoma State. Had he been eligible for NIL endorsements he would've been able to cash in for some serious coin. A female track athlete though? That's a harder sell IMO. I know that LSU gymnast is making bank but let's be honest, it's not because of her athletic pursuits.
  3. Mel Kiper both kinda created and kinda ruined draft coverage. He was the guy who initially made the draft "his" thing and was the guy who started this trend of making hard definitive statements about guys who have never played a down in the NFL. He's a can't miss prospect. He's a plug and play starter. He's a ten year All-Pro. Draft this guy and you don't have to worry about this position for a decade. All that poo traces back to helmet hair.
  4. Lamar is fuged. Now that the Ravens have seen that there's minimal market out there for him they're gonna hardball him. This is the risk he took.
  5. It depends. There's obviously prerequisites. I mean, you can have a guy who has all the football savvy in the world but if he can only throw a football 35 yards then he was probably a great HS QB who maybe played some DIII ball before going into coaching.
  6. The fish I pictured came out of Luke Kuechly's preferred WNC fishery. It's the closest stream to me but I honestly prefer quite a few other streams over it. I only fish it a handful of times a year despite it being the most convenient to me.
  7. Not sure if we're just doing our homework on guys like JSN and Porter in case they fall to #39 (that seems HIGHLY unlikely) or if those visits indicate we could potentially be in the market to jump back into the latter portion of the 1st if the right guy is there? Hell, I guess there's a chance the JSN visit might be at least partially about getting more insight into Stroud too. You only get 30 of these visits so they matter.
  8. Nice one! I didn't catch anything sizeable this weekend but I caught 10-13 inchers I til I got bored of doing it and went home. I was catching some nice fish around this time last year. Hopefully I'll pick up some sizeable ones before summer hits. I really need to do more floating of the Catawba tailrace. It's in my backyard but I haven't floated it in years. There used to be some hog browns in there but I here it isn't fishing in recent years like it used to.
  9. People keep saying he's Mahomes-lite but there's a BIG difference in the arm strength.
  10. I don't really care who we finally settle on I just hope that it is someone everyone in the building is sold on and excited as hell to work with.
  11. I think he is too, but he definitely doesn't have the natural feel for the game that Young has and there's plenty to work on technically. I just see them as opposite prospects in terms of how you're trying to project this particular guy to the NFL. For Young, you're almost completely leaning on intangibles. For Richardson, you're almost completely leaning on measurables.
  12. Fair take IMO. But damn... that game against UGA against the best D this side of the NFL was REALLY damn good though... Honestly, I'm just avoiding getting emotionally attached to any particular prospect. I can fully understand the arguments for and against Young, Stroud, and Richardson. I can see all three becoming very good NFL QBs and I can see all three busting. Odds are ATL east one of them will pan out. I hope the guy we draft does.
  13. To be fair, it's easy to look very accurate when you're throwing to future NFL star WRs who are wide ass open while chilling behind an OL chock full of future NFL draftees. This should give the CJ Stroud contingent some pause.
  14. I thought Mac Jones was a 3rd round talent who was floated by elite surrounding talent in college and simply didn't have the physical tools to make it as a starting QB in the NFL. Nothing about his game impressed me. I thought he'd likely make a good long-term backup. Same opinion on Kenny Pickett.
  15. I think the NFL disagrees on Jones in particular. He's available and evidently no one is biting with a decent offer. That wouldn't be the case of the Bears put Fields on the block. Tua is a good QB but is he gonna last physically? Watching him get tossed around like a ragdoll should be concerning for the Bryce Young contingent.
  16. My concern with Young is pretty simple. Does he translate to the NFL or is he a really good natural QB whose physical limitations will catch up to him at the highest level? I honestly think there are less questions about Stroud in terms of projecting his translation to the NFL. To me, it really boils down this way... Young: You're betting on his natural talent in terms of his feel for and understanding of the game and you think that is more than enough to compensate for his physical shortcomings... and that he can take the physical tolls of playing QB in the NFL at his stature. Stroud: You're betting on the good total package. Good but not great arm. Good but not great size. Good but not great athleticism. Feels like the safest pick of the bunch but might have a borderline top 10 type NFL QB ceiling. Richardson: You're betting that you can help him develop the mental and technical aspects of his game to catch up with his immense physical talent. He and Bryce Young are basically the opposite sides of the same coin. Levis: You should stop hanging out late night with Jim Irsay and consider rehab.
  17. Now do Alabama QBs. The best current NFL QBs from both of these schools didn't finish college at that school. They've both produced plenty of NFL QB flops.
  18. If our guy doesn't pan out and one or more others do it's gonna absolutely suck out loud. Drafting this guy or that guy isn't gonna make it sting any less.
  19. You definitely don't want to run into the wrong cop. A ridiculous percentage of D8 products end up testing with illegal concentrations of D9.
  20. He didn't get dealt to Seattle. We cut him. He signed with Seattle as a free agent. He retired two years ago signing a one day contract to retire a Panther.
  21. Ron, you better just hope my guy Sam Howell can save your ass because the only time you've ever resembled a competent NFL HC is when Cam Newton was doing his best Superman impressions. Now granted, that's still more than Tepper has managed to achieve as an owner but I'm just sayin'...
  22. I mean, Mac Jones sucks. So there's that to consider too. Don't be surprised to see this storyline out of Pittsburgh regarding Pickett after this season.
