  1. It was all about the Benjamins, per usual. Which is fine. It is business for them after all. But don't go whining and crying about the QBs you've played with talking about wanting to play with an elite QB and then sign up to play with the Titans.
  2. It's possible but on the wrong side of 70 I'm just not sure.
  3. Just gonna be honest, if baseball completely ceased to exist I wouldn't even notice until someone else pointed it out.
  4. Gonna be honest, I would've taken the picks. You're not just getting two 1st rounders, you're also getting all the cap space that Burns's extension will eat up. With that said, I hope Burns is absolutely dominant in our new defensive scheme and makes any thought of regretting not taking that trade offer laughable.
  5. A lot of truth to this. I'm not certain that it would've gone any different no matter what, but the way the roster was built Cam had to carry the offense. I mean, we did TRY to put some receivers around Cam, we just chose poorly with KB and Funchess. The utter failures on the OL was pathetic though. Even our studs Gettleman either inherited (Kalil) or fell backassward into with Turner (3rd rounder) and Norwell (UDFA).
  6. Oh for sure. A legit franchise QB on a rookie contract is the best roster asset in the NFL. There's not even a close second.
  7. I wish we had been better positioned to capitalize on Brown's and Burn's rookie contracts. Because yeah, they're gonna be expensive moving forward.
  8. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/07/13/panthers-thomas-davis-bryce-young-cam-newton-electricity-gmfb/ Thomas Davis: There's a Cam Newton-like electricity surrounding Bryce Young
  9. https://www.si.com/nfl/2016/01/19/st-louis-rams-san-diego-chargers-economics Rams left St. Louis in 2016. They saw a slight flattening that year. Right back to business as usual until COVID. You can't even tell the Chargers left San Diego in 2017. Now consider the potential impacts spending those hundreds of millions on different municipal investments. Public spending on pro sports stadiums is just bad business.
  10. Except that every legit financial study conducted has found that public investment into professional athletic stadium provides a terrible ROI. https://better-cities.org/economic-prosperity/sports-stadium-subsidies-fair-or-foul/
  11. Hell, an average coach would be a monumental improvement from Rhule. Just look at what we did under Wilks.
  12. Compared to what we had before I just don't see how the case can be made. I'm gonna be nervous as hell about Young's size for a long time but we've been dealing with pure hot trash at QB for years now. It was time to make a bold move. They did their homework and went all in to get their guy. Basically what I've been screaming for the Panthers to do at QB for several years now. At some point enough is enough of the "well, maybe one will fall in our lap next year" approach. The trade up was clearly the right call. We made the determination that sitting at #9 was just too low to have a shot at a guy we really wanted so we made a bold move up. And we were right with three QBs off the board by #4 with the 4th QB lasting to #33. We were sitting in no man's land at #9 and we knew it.
  13. I'm almost as excited to see our young defensive talent in a new scheme as I am to see our shiny new #1 overall pick QB.
  14. I just don't see how anyone can claim that they truly believe that we're headed in the wrong direction. For that to be true, you have to believe that we are currently in worse shape with our current staff and brain trust than we were under Rhule and company. A guy who went 11-27 before getting unceremoniously poo canned mid-season in his third year that no one outside of David Tepper thought he should've gotten. 5-11, 5-12, 1-4 and fired. How can anyone think we're going in the wrong direction moving on from THAT?
  15. The thunder shirt is worth a shot. It does seem to help with some dogs. https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=thunder+shirts+for+dogs&index=aps&tag=hydsma-20&ref=pd_sl_7njetsj85a_e&adgrpid=53517523102&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=580817223753&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2605472252757367739&hvqmt=e&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010227&hvtargid=kwd-302271168218&hydadcr=14560_13388736 If you'll PM me an address I'll send you some stuff. This is kinda what I do.
  16. Why spend the money yourselves if you can fleece local municipalities out of it?
  17. Tepper will get his money. And the city of Charlotte will tell it's residents that it can't afford to provide for basic municipal needs because of budget constraints. We live in an oligarchy larping as a democracy and we have for awhile now.
  18. I always thought that Derrick Brown looked like Kris Jenkins 2.0 IMO. His rookie year his pass rush looked better than I expected but he wasn't as dominant in the run game as I thought he would be. Last year we started to see the guy I expected him to be. Hopefully he takes a big leap this year with better coaching and scheming.
  19. Honestly, there are very few jerseys I'd truly be ashamed to own. I mean, if a guys busts am I really I really ashamed to own the jersey? The guys who come to mind off the top of my head are Carruth (obvious), Collins (racist), and KB. Might be a little harsh to put KB on that list but him quitting on that route leading to an INT then not even bothering to try to make a tackle led to Cam's initial shoulder injury then he went on to throw shade at Cam after he was traded when Cam had never publicly said a negative word about the guy. He was dead to me as a Panther after that. I'm on the fence about DeAngelo. I want to believe he changed after his mom unfortunately passed far too early but there's a decent amount of evidence that he was always that guy and maybe his mom just helped keep it in check. I guess if I was being completely fair I could say the same about KB.
  20. It'll take me a long time to not be concerned about his size but damn I hope this guy turns out to be great.
  21. Shiny new #1 overall pick QB. New highly experienced coaching staff. Yeah, considering the trash we've been dealing with at QB and with coaching it's understandable there's more optimism in Panthersdom then there has been in quite awhile.
  22. It's hilarious watching Stephen A. Smith wallowing about this. Last year he was "underpaid". Now his "colleagues deserved better than these times". Dude... clowns like you and Skip Bayless created these times. It turns out that idiots screaming at each other over mildly sports related topics had a shelf life.
  23. Winning culture will fix it. Until then, expect BOA to be a sea of opposing colors most Sundays. Having a shiny new #1 overall pick QB and an all new staff will create some early buzz but it's up to the Panthers themselves to maintain that.
