  1. He's definitely not getting better. We're just getting better at hiding him because we have a RB playing at an MVP level and the D is balling.
  2. You're missing a really key factor here. That factor being baseline talent. Josh Allen is as physically talented at the QB position as it gets. Bryce is on the opposite end of the spectrum. This is why coaches and GMs are willing to roll the dice on raw talent. Every now and then you get Josh Allen. You usually get Anthony Richardson, but as the old saying goes you can't coach height/speed/arm strength, etc. You might be able to coach up raw talent but if a guy doesn't have the prerequisite physical talent there's nothing you can do about that. It just is what it is.
  3. Yeah, the bad news is that Bryce ain't it. The good news is that despite setting ourselves back with that trade we've actually put the rest of the roster in the position of being a QB away from competing. All we need now is for Tepper and the organization to jerk their head out of their "sunk cost fallacy" ass and realize it. Canales' play calling in recent weeks shows me he's there. I just hope the rest of the organization including Tepper is as well.
  4. Yep, just sign me a legit veteran journeyman then keep our options open in the draft and don't force anything.
  5. Icky: very close to being sold. His pass protection does look significantly better but I also have to consider that the 1980s "run, run, run the ball pass as last resort" (to the tune of Row Row Row Your Boat) we're being forced to run perfectly fits his skillset and probably isn't what we want to run long-term. Let's say 85% sold. T-Mac: Sold. I think he's a legit #1 WR. He looks the part of a top 10 draft pick rookie. XL: Pretty close to being sold that he's a bust. Bryce: Completely sold that he's a bust. Chuba: He is what he is. He's a solid rotational/backup RB. Good for him leveraging a good year into a payday but he's not a starting caliber NFL RB. He benefitted greatly from the investments we made in the OL last year. Scourton: Incomplete. Pass rushers are usually not instant impact players in the draft. He looks like a decently promising rookie. Derrick Brown: Sold that he's the best DT we've ever had. Horn: Sold that he's our best CB since J-No and praying he's completely over his injury issues. Moehrig: Sold that he's a great SS who has to play SS. If you're consistently playing him in the deep third he's going to be a liability. 2025 draft class: Sold that it's our most promising draft in a loooooong time. Which granted isn't saying much but it's something. So far so good. Canales: Stubbornly avoiding riding Rico for so long is frustrating but I like how he's adjusted and he's quick to limit the damage Bryce can do to us. After the ugly endzone INT we were done throwing downfield yesterday and after the near INT to T-Mac on the final drive we were done throwing period. Evero: I still have my issues but I mean, I can't deny that our D is looking better and better despite most of the cap being spent on the other side of the ball. Just don't ask the man's opinion on free agent targets. Like ever. Just don't. Morgan: I've seen enough to give him another year.
  6. This. If he can go you have to play him. Without him our offense is completely stuck in the mud and I can't give us better than 50/50 odds of beating anyone and if this team is going to push for a playoff spot sweeping the Saints feels like a must. I think we've done enough at this point to be done with getting looked past by opponents and at some point teams are gonna start just slamming 8 and 9 in the box every down whether it's a usual passing scenario or not and absolutely selling out against the run to keep Rico from beating them.
  7. LOL I know you're one of the Bryce stans pretending to be a Packers fan, I'm just not sure which one because you're hiding behind a proxy IP address.
  8. Mike Jackson is a solid #2 CB with a great value contract. He's the least of our problems.
  9. He completed two passes then damn near threw an INT at which point we took the forward pass out of the playbook and Rico drug us into long FG range.
  10. Holy poo... the Panthers have a winning record for the first time in forever and we have fans suggesting that we "rest" the guy who is completely carrying our offense. This is the type of poo that gets fanbases mocked on the internet.
  11. Neither of those guys is long for the league if they keep playing the way they currently do but it'll be fun to watch as long as it lasts. I mean, let's be honest... you basically just described Ben Roethlisberger coming into the league. That guy would lose an IQ comparison battle with a lamppost and he was still a great NFL QB.
  12. I liked Dart in the draft and I was honestly surprised he didn't go higher.
  13. This. Jaxson Dart wasn't seen as a super high level prospect but damn if I don't wish we had him right now. As happy as I am with T-Mac honestly if I could re-do the draft today knowing what I know now I take Dart. We'll see how it plays out long-term. Both could wind up great or one or both could end up being a flash in the pan.
  14. "They play the way they have to play with Bryce Young at QB."
  15. That was a weird situation where you had an organization that was stuck in the mud despite having a franchise QB. They decided to trade a 32 year old franchise QB because they didn't think they were going to be in a position to win with him before he was over the hill and that he was more valuable to them in draft assets to build for the future. It was also one of these weird trade situations where both teams won. Both teams got exactly what they were looking for out of the deal. The Rams got their SB and the Lions got their assets to build from and turned their franchise around. I don't see similar scenarios with Herbert or Lamar. One, the age thing.Lamar is still only 28 and Herbert is 27. Two, neither team feels stuck in the mud. The Chargers are 6-3 right now and the Ravens had won 10+ games in 6 of the last 7 seasons coming into this year. Either team would be crazy to blow it up by dealing away their QB.
  16. In what alternate universe is Lamar and/or Herbert going to be available for trade?
  17. It's tough to name a worse player. It's pretty impressive that the Panthers were able to find one in Dalton and also have him on the roster. Bryce is ass. Pure and simple. Dalton being even more ass isn't "proof" of anything other than our QB room is super mega ass. The answer for next year is to sign a decent journeyman vet in FA and keep our options open in the draft.
  18. There's no way any objective football fan can watch the Panthers play and not conclude that they're being held back by the QB position.
  19. I wouldn't say he was trending toward bust. He was always a good run blocker he just struggled in pass protection. Our newfound run, run, run the ball pass as last resort offense suits him perfectly.
  20. We have one of the worst starters in the league and one of the worst backups in the league. It is what it is. Bryce also damn near threw a back breaking INT on a bad throw on a comeback to T-Mac (all we were running on that drive were come backs because Bryce can't throw down the field). After that, Canales said fug it we're done throwing and I'm just gonna hope Rico can get us into position to attempt a long FG in windy conditions because that's a better option than Bryce throwing. The big improvement I've seen from Canales' play calling as of late is that he's quick to limit the damage Bryce can do. After that ugly INT in the endzone that was it for throwing downfield yesterday. After the near pick on the throw to T-Mac that was it for passing period.
  21. I honestly think it's just trolling at this point. It's hard for me to imagine people are deluded into coping that hard.
  22. I'd prefer to just stand pat unless you're gonna try to bring in competition at QB.
  23. When do we get to see the positive impact it's had on the QB?
  24. Daniels is very slightly built for an NFL QB. Basically a taller version of Bryce Young with a playing style that leaves him a lot more open for hits. I'm honestly not surprised the injuries are starting to pile up.
