  1. But why was Young considered by so many to be the #1 QB? It never made sense to me. There were red flags EVERYWHERE with the guy. His size. His arm talent. His footwork. Everyone just got so enamored with the person and the idea that he was such a football savant that all the red flags wouldn't matter. I got heckled every time I brought up the questions pre-draft. Oh, so all the football experts are wrong??? Yeah.
  2. I think he is in a different league as a prospect compared to Chase. A lesser league.
  3. Going off NFL.com prospect grades he's not the best WR prospect this year by either measure. If you go back over the past decade he's probably barely top 10. Excellent WR prospect, no doubt. Definitely not "generational" though.
  4. Wake me up when a Lincoln Riley QB doesn't kill it. Williams has super intriguing talent. He has a helluva arm, is a good scrambler, and a GREAT thrower on the move. My big concerns with him are the diva attitude and that he holds the ball forever. Like FOREVER. I think he's complete boom or bust. He's gonna be great or he's gonna be a bust. I don't see a lot of room for gray area in between. Either his game will translate or it won't.
  5. I'm honestly not certain he's the best WR prospect THIS year. In the last 10 years? I mean, 10 years ago Sammy Watkins was a STUD prospect. Nearly 1500 yards and 12 TDs his last year at Clemson. Those are the types of guys everyone forgets about in there discussions. The "can't miss prospects" that miss. He went #4 over Mike Evans at #7. Amari Cooper went #4 overall the following year. 1700 yards and 16 TDs his last year at Bama STUD. Hell, a lot of folks thought Kevin White who went #7 that year was an even better prospect. BUST. Corey Davis went #5 overall in 2018. 2021 had the previously mentioned Chase at #5 with Waddle right behind him at #6. Harrison's production just doesn't scream generational prospect. Numerous highly drafted guys in the last decade have put up considerably better numbers against similar competition. And I just don't see game breaking speed from him when I watch him play. I "just" see a typical WR that gets drafted in the top 10. A damn good prospect but not someone who is displaying otherworldly talent.
  6. I honestly don't think he's a better prospect than Chase was.
  7. I'm gonna just be honest here. fug any and all "Panthers fans" that poo on Cam Newton. Hope y'all are enjoying the post-Cam Panthers. You got what you asked for.
  8. The guy spent three years at Texas which is consistently ranked one of the top public universities in the country. Damn, that's just embarrassing.
  9. I actually liked last year's WR class too. It was a good class overall it just lacked that elite top of the draft type talent. Good depth though. Per usual, we just draft the wrong one.
  10. It's a helluva WR class. Honestly on paper it's probably the best WR class I can recall since the legendary 1996 WR draft class. Not saying this class will produce multiple HOFers like that one but it's stacked both wil elite talent at the top of the board and good depth throughout. If you need WR help at all you're really doing your team a disservice not to come out of this draft with one.
  11. I've come to expect foolishness from Tepper's Panthers. Honestly, if I'm the Panthers and the Commanders go QB at #2 I'd be calling them immediately. Okay, whatya want for Howell? If I can get him for a mid-rounder I'm doing it and having a legit QB competition in camp.
  12. You would if he was generational. You'd definitely trade a guy about to bust your cap space for a generational prospect on a rookie contract.
  13. Fans think this way but folks who will be leaving millions of actual dollars on the table don't.
  14. If his name was "Joe Smith" instead of "Marvin Harrison Jr." I honestly think there would be a lively debate over who is the #1 WR prospect available.
  15. No, Dalton isn't very good but the difference would've probably gotten us to 5-6 wins IMO. That's enough to drop you down to the 5-7 range vs. #1 overall.
  16. I think he's a helluva WR prospect but I don't understand the generational talk. Would anyone trade a Chase or Jefferson for him? Okay then, how is he generational? Hell, I'm not certain he's the best WR in this class.
  17. "Not every team can draft me. There's only one of me." said with the biggest of poo eating grins. Maybe this guy will prove to just be THAT good but I honestly think he's gonna bust HARD.
  18. I never blame a prosect for how he chooses to approach the pre-draft process. They're all just trying to maximize their stock. But when guys opt out of things it absolutely raises valid questions on why they think that opting out of this thing is the best option for their draft stock. Guys absolutely don't try to harm their draft stock. They might go full Eli and flat out refuse to play for certain teams and force a trade if they have that type of leverage but they're not going to try to fall in the draft and literally cost themselves millions of dollars.
  19. No medical testing for Caleb Williams at the combine...
  20. Possibly. But I doubt we 're #1 overall if we'd just played Andy Dalton all season. Probably not top 3. Maybe not top 5. I wouldn't trade Stroud for any rookie this year. Not after seeing what he did on an NFL field. I bet the Texans wouldn't either.
  21. Bad teams are never just a QB away but you don't get to pick and choose when you can land a franchise QB. When the opportunity arises you jump. You don't draft a guy for his rookie year, you draft him hoping he's the answer for a decade plus. We had an opportunity and we shot our shot. We just missed.
  22. Due diligence. The trade wasn't the mistake that we made, it was the pick. Well, it should've been Burns in the trade not Moore. That was a mistake.
  23. I'd rather let Burns slam than pay him $30M per but with the bump in cap I'd tag and trade him.
