  1. Yep, the left side of the OL has to Olay better. No way around it. Dalton honestly played way better than I expected.
  2. The way he was playing part of that process might be sitting for awhile. The kid looked like he was on the verge of seeing ghosts.
  3. I absolutely don't. But I'm not going to distort reality. Reality is that Bryce has been bad and Dalton was significantly better yesterday. That sucks, but like I said that is just cold hard reality. Going around being on utter denial doesn't make you a good fan. Any decent fan hopes Bryce will improve and be a great QB. But any rational fan has to admit that he hasn't been good so far. Sorry.
  4. Yeah, I liked the pick and thought he had potential but he's clearly not ready. He's just getting abused. We have to have SOMEBODY better than that. Surely.
  5. Well, Whiskey Myers was AWESOME. We left probably halfway through Eric Church's set.
  6. He did a lot of throwing on the move running around at Alabama but NFL defenders are catching him.
  7. Hiring Sean Payton is one of the few things that the Panthers could do that would get me to immediately renounce my fandom on the spot.
  8. Reich sucks but all the folks begging for Sean Payton sure have gotten awfully quiet.
  9. You're right, I missed Wilson. The sort function on that site doesn't work on my phone. Updated the title and original post. Thanks. Zach Wilson though... not great company.
  10. The guy is unflappable. If they can fix their protection he'll bounce back. Unfortunately, I don't think they can. They're going to have to scheme around it. More establishing the run to be able to live off of play action. More screens and quick slants. Howell's strength is the deep ball but they're going to have to setup their shots.
  11. Yesterday was terrible for him but it was also probably the worst pass protection I've personally ever seen in the NFL. Evidently it was the second highest pressure rate that has been recorded in the Next Gen Stats era (that would be dating back to 2018). https://x.com/granthpaulsen/status/1706056514627072037?s=20 You can't have good QB play with that.
  12. A lot of people convinced themselves he was surrounded by subpar talent at Alabama while overlooking the reality that "subpar" for Alabama is still a top 10 college roster.
  13. It's my big concern with Caleb Williams as a prospect. More and more every year this league is becoming about getting the ball out FAST. "Last season, his 3.24-second average time to throw was the highest among Power Five quarterbacks." That would be good for the second slowest time in the NFL since 2018.
  14. The odds have to be VERY good for two top 5 picks and astronomical for two top 10 picks. They're probably gonna be able to draft a QB then turn around and grab a stud WR prospect to pair with DJ. Seems like a sweet setup but the Bears are hopelessly snakebit at QB so I'm sure they'll fug it up.
  15. Agreed. In the second game especially he just looked really hesitant to throw and like you said, like he was second guessing everything. I don't think think the staff is blind to this. As critical as I have been of situational offensive play calling, these guys do know NFL football. The more I think about it and look at the numbers and it just sinks in how much better the passing game ran with Dalton the more I do think that the ankle was just an excuse to pull Bryce out of the fire and give him a minute to reset and regroup.
  16. https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing#yards Bryce is second to last among NFL QBs beating only the atrocious Zach Wilson. Dalton currently sitting at 5th fastest. 3.14 seconds vs. 2.5 seconds and Dalton is doing that while throwing downfield consistently more. I was expecting this to be a real strength of Bryce's. There's only four slower times than Bryce's since they started compiling the numbers in 2018 (one was Darnold ). This not what I expected out of a "super processor". Let's hope he can improve. But right now, the eye test said that Andy Dalton ran the offense much better yesterday and the more numbers I look at, the more they SCREAM it.
  17. Oh wee mayne. Dalton grading out as twice as good as Bryce does pass the eye test IMO.
  18. A zero? ZERO??? Like bro... they determined you were completely useless out there. Same end result as a Huddler being out there or straight up just playing 10 on 11. Brutal.
  19. I'm waiting for them to say it's all working perfectly, we just can't see it. If the Rhule results on the field are going to continue might as well keep the same logic too.
  20. I literally laughed out loud when they ran that play. I liked how the announcers talked about how Dalton made the right read keeping it. Well, no poo the D keyed on the RB. They aren't concerned with a Dalton keeper. He ain't going anywhere.
  21. I have a feeling that Bryce's ankle evaluation might continue for as long as Dalton plays considerably better than he did in his first two games.
  22. Cmon man, pick another thread. Not every Stroud thought needs a new thread. We're letting people vent more than usual but we can't let non-Panthers topics overrun the forum.
  23. Well, at least it provided a few months of hope and excitement. Back to the regularly scheduled Tepper led suckfest now. Gonna be ironically depressing if we finally get that tank year many of us have been wanting for years only to have traded that pick away already.
  24. Hey now. He's really good at moving around numbers on spreadsheets to make the incredibly wealthy even more wealthy while actually materially contributing nothing to humanity. Oh wait... that's not exactly a redeeming quality. My bad.
