The offense with Bryce is getting worse every week
LinvilleGorge replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
We're 7th in the league in average yards per carry. I don't think we've been committed enough to the run on the play calling but it isn't due to complete lack of effectiveness. We're 26th in the league in run attempts. We're one of only two teams averaging 4.5+ YPC that is in the bottom half of the league in attempts. -

They're subpar no doubt, but we saw some tough downfield catches in that game. Don't have the opportunity for those if the ball isn't thrown. -

I said before that game that my biggest concern is that the offense might look a lot better with Dalton taking the snaps because we already know what Dalton is. Biggest fear confirmed. Then confirmed again when Bryce looked the same against a bad D yesterday. -
You have a magic wand to fix our biggest problem.

This. Everything football related that David Tepper has touched has turned into dog poo. Ever since Tepper started "putting his stamp on the football side of the house" in year two after focusing on the business side in year one we've been on a fast track to become the new Cleveland Browns. The only stamps I've seen on his football organization are the mushroom stamps our opponents put on our foreheads every Sunday. -

It's painful watching some fans twist and turn to create excuses to ignore this reality and ignore the fact that the passing offense (and the WRs everyone has shat on) looked wholly different last week with a QB who could threaten the defense vertically.- 120 replies

Okay. Let's just ignore that he's been wholly ineffective throwing more than. 15 yards down the field. He has slightly above average NFL escapability and below average NFL arm talent. It just is what it is. It doesn't doom him to failure but it's a real uphill battle.

All the pre-draft measurables and analysis ceases to matter once you're drafted. At that point it's all about what you show on the field. The measurables and analysis is just trying to predict what that on field performance is likely to look like. It's far from a science.

1. No. 2. Yes. It's not about height for me. The arm talent is obviously lacking and he already looks gun shy to throw downfield. 3. If we want to play whataboutism what about if the defender would've caught that gift of a 99 yard pick six?

Not pooing on the kid. It's not his fault he lacks NFL physical talent. That's on our professional talent evaluators and decision makers. I think Bryce is probably doing the best he can given his limitations. But I'm not going to beclown myself trying to act like all is well. BTW, the kid has $38M guaranteed. He's gonna be just fine no matter what.

Keep it coming. Because this is comedy.

Just thinking back to this off-season and preseason the whole vibe from this team, staff, front office, ownership, fanbase, just everything from the top down. We had ARRIVED. It's all fixed now. Whoops.

I've never seen your level of delusional coping mechanisms while watching a raging dumpster fire.

Honestly wondering if there isn't some truth to this. He looked horrible in the preseason and then they'd interview him on the sidelines and he acted like everything was just great. Like bro, you looked like a speed bump out there tonight.

Currently watching Stroud and AR dominate
LinvilleGorge replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe most depressingly watching Andy Dalton playing in Bryce's stead I repeatedly muttered "Our #1 overall pick simply isn't capable of doing that." That's Andy Dalton. A guy never exactly known for his incredible physical talents and who has been relegated to veteran backup/stop gap starter status for several years now. I'm not talking about a Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes here. -
We are in the Rhule era extended. The only way to stay sane is to just leave it until things hopefully get better at some point in the future or enjoy it as a comedy.

Feels like every other game I watch I find myself saying "Our QB simply isn't capable of doing that." -
Has Young shown flashes of being a #1 pick?

Andy Dalton threw for 361 yards and 2 TDs behind this OL just last week. -
Is Frank Reich telling Bryce who to throw to on each play?

Must be nice to be the Chiefs. Crucial late game drive. Two 3rd and 20s. Two phantom flags and free 1st downs. -

Do I have the option to just sell my marbles for half of their worth so that I at least walk away with something? -

Yeah, that looked more like Zach Wilson. -
In terms of WRs, we have Smitty, Moose, and DJ as our top three. But after those three it absolutely falls off a cliff. Mark Carrier our 4th leading WR barely had over 2500 receiving yards for us. That's a terrible history for the position.

Um... are we watching Zach Wilson's coming out party? Because this guy is fuging ballin' right now. -

Zach Wilson actually looks like an NFL QB tonight.
