  1. Both of our QBs are in the bottom 10. LOL That's why when people ask "who are we supposed to get that'll be any better?" my answer is always "literally pretty much anybody". Mike White might be the best QB on our roster currently and he got signed off the couch a week ago.
  2. And yet the Panthers insist on not just continuing to trot him out there but pretending that he's the answer as our franchise QB.
  3. It includes every QB that has taken a snap this year. There's 64 of them. Bryce is 56 out of 64. The full list of guys below Bryce in order: JJ McCarthy Spencer Rattler Geno Smith Joe Flacco Cooper Rush Dillon Gabriel Jake Browning Cam Ward Yes, Dalton isn't among them. He's 54th.
  4. The only thing Rhule has proven at this point is that he can drag a program out of the gutter and get them back to a decent level of respectability and competitiveness. What he has definitely not shown yet is that he can beat good teams. I don't mean consistently, I mean literally at all. LOL
  5. Middle of the pack in terms of moving past his first read, bottom 5 in EPA when doing so. Oh, and Bryce is 56th among NFL QBs this season in overall EPA.
  6. I guess Penn State told him no thanks. Smart move on their part.
  7. Yep. Good rotational RB who put together a career year and leveraged that into a payday. Good for him. The good thing about his contract is it's pretty light on guaranteed money. We're not really tied down by it if we need to get out from under it.
  8. I think Mayfield was just in shitty situations. I mean, he did the unimaginable and got the playoffs one year in Cleveland. As soon as he was out from under the poo show of the Browns and Panthers he blossomed immediately. Darnold is basically a guy who needs to be treated as a high level game manager. He's a guy who can make all the throws but you have to avoid putting too much on his plate or the turnover issues will show their head. I honestly doubt he's ever going to be the QB for a team that makes real post season noise just because as soon as you really have to lean into him I think he's gonna break. It's just who he is. Jones? We'll see. I think he's basically just leaning on the best RB in the league right now. He had a decent year in NY leaning on Saquan too and that's what led the Giants to making the mistake of paying him. He's probably in that Darnold category of being a high end game manager who can make all the throws but you have to be careful to protect him from himself.
  9. It's definitely not but what he and Darnold and now Jones are all doing does show that if you have a guy who checks a lot of the prerequisite boxes putting them in the right situation can make all the difference. The problem for the folks wanting to apply this logic to Bryce is that little "checks a lot of the prerequisite boxes" issue.
  10. I would always keep RB on the radar in the mid to late rounds. My goal at RB is try to get as much production out of rookie contracts as possible and avoid paying them.
  11. There are always exceptions. But just because an all-time great is an exception doesn't mean you should assume some other guy is going to duplicate it.
  12. Because it makes sense for the Panthers to move a RB this week. Outsiders just aren't as intimately familiar with the Panthers as we are so they would assume we'd do the logical thing and trade the lesser RB with the worse contract. But this is Tepper's Panthers. We know that doing the logical thing is rarely on the table.
  13. It'd be the most Panthers thing ever though to end up trading Rico to the Pats after they call to ask about Chuba assuming we wouldn't want to trade Rico for the same price they were willing to pay for Rico. Conversation like... Hey, we wanted to call to ask about the possible availability of Chuba. Well, maybe what were you thinking? Say... a 4th? Well, we really like Chuba. Not sure we'd take a 4th... what about Rico? A 4th is all we want to part with. Yeah, Rico for a 4th. That's what we're offering. Oh wow! That's WAY better than what we were thin... I mean, yeah I guess we could do that if you insist on not moving Chuba *sound of raucous cheering and bottles popping in the background*
  14. https://www.panthers.com/news/panthers-sign-quarterback-mike-white-to-the-active-roster-andy-dalton-injured-brady-christensen?fbclid=IwY2xjawNwXpJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHsy1N9HhwVCAlhOyOE3JSNk1n3_gW0kfhNizfHRok0ZbzY2SLPTPmyz5rKzL_aem_GkYW97bAHb2dcPB__QhRmg
  15. I mean, we still suck either way. Right now, Chuba's performance last season just looks like a massive anomaly. Other than last year Chuba had looked like a decent rotational RB and nothing more.
  16. Your odds of finding your legit starter in free agency is slim. All I want out of free agency is a vet that can legitimately push Bryce and can play if Bryce goes down or falters again and we need to turn the page. Basically just get me an upgrade over the current washed up version of Dalton. That's not a tall ask.
  17. Interesting choice of examples with Philly considering Saquan Barkley is the highest paid RB in the NFL.
  18. Their running game has been virtually non-existent. Drake Maye is 29 yards away from leading them in rushing.
  19. Yeah, especially if Brooks' rehab is going well. I wouldn't want to depend on him for anything beyond promising depth after back to back ACLs but I'd be open to moving Chuba and his contract and giving Rico more snaps.
  20. There aren't 32 legitimate starting caliber QBs in the league. Just like when we were starting Bell and Chandler at OT, did that make them legit "starters"? I mean, technically I guess it did since they were indeed starting but they sure as hell weren't starting caliber players. If you have the 30th best starting QB in the league, you desperately need a starting QB and there's likely backups on other rosters better than your starter just like there were better backup OTs on other rosters than Bell and Chandler.
  21. This. When Bryce falters again we have to have legit options behind him, not just the washed up ghost of Andy Dalton.
