Brady wasn't surrounded by near the supporting cast that Purdy is. Not even close. The Dolphins are the only other team in the league that's even in the conversation of ha ong that type of overall offensive talent. And I don't see anyone trying to put Tua as a top two or three QB and rightfully not. Trying to put Brock Purdy ahead of guys like Lamar, Burrow, and Allen is just absurd in it's face.

I was rooting for him but unfortunately an Achilles injury is an absolute career derailer for a lot of guys. I have a strong suspicion that Cousins' recovery process from his Achilles likely played a significant role in them panic overdrafting Penix. I bet there's a lot of concerns they've dumped a ton of money into damaged goods. They just put in a waiver claim on another QB too. They seem to be in pure panic mode.

Brock Purdy #2 is just hilarious. Literally no one else in that top 10 would trade their guy for Brock Purdy

I think he'll have marginal improvement and we'll be a run of the mill bad team picking somewhere around the fringes of the top 10 which might be the worse case scenario. I'd greatly prefer he either boom or bust. Show me something. Show me you can be the guy or just suck ass and let's move on and get it over with.

Where would the Panthers be if they sat Bryce Young last season?
LinvilleGorge replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
We'd still suck. At least now we have 16 Bryce games under our belt. If he doesn't show significantly more promise this year it'll be time to move on. -
Front office/scouting staff changes

I guarantee you that I can assemble an NFL roster that will finish last in the league. Hell, my dog can do that. -
He's basically Sam Darnold minus the prototypical NFL QB build.

More on the Panthers and Rams 2nd round trade

I watch a ton of ACC football and I'm gonna be honest with you... I didn't even know who Braden Fiske was until he did really well at the underwear Olympics. -
Grades are in; how did Panthers do in this years draft
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Draft grades are just something for the media to talk about. Not gonna lie, not super excited about our draft but we'll see how they turn out. -
I'll go with a C and if that grade holds in retrospect it'll be our best draft in years.
-
I honestly don't really care. This year is all about figuring out if Bryce is it. Period. Because if we have another high pick next year (pretty likely if we're being honest) we need to know if we need a QB.

Pulled pork reheats well. Just cover it with a wet paper towel. Brisket does too. I only slice what's needed so I can refrigerate the leftovers whole then reheat by the slice with it wrapped in a wet paper towel. Just heat it enough to warm it up.

I'm really surprised Brendan Rice is still on the board. I thought he'd probably go in the 4th, 5th at the latest.

Don't ever feel bad for being wrong about a draft prospects. Just remember, there are busts and steals in every single draft. The highly paid professionals get this poo wrong every year too.
-
Well, I have some good news for you. Based on our history, you may have a future in the Panthers' front office.
-
I honestly have zero opinion of that pick. He just wasn't on my radar at all.

After six QBs in the top 12 the seventh QB finally goes off the board at #150. Low risk potential high reward pick for the Saints.
-
Yep. Great arm talent. Shows some real flashes. But he's just never found any sort of consistency. Hard to imagine he'll find it in the NFL.

Deebo or Aiyuk one is gonna end up being traded. I'm surprised it didn't happen during or leading up to the draft. Must not have liked the offers and they're waiting on an injury and/or training camp realization of 'uh oh, we NEED a WR" to set in to up the value.
