CFB conference championship games
LinvilleGorge replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Losing their QB will be a factor too. It's not fair but it's reality. For them to have any shot they gotta stop Louisville and show that they can score. Louisville has a good D. Put up 30+ on them and it means something. -

Meanwhile, Beck has looked like poo on the other side. -

Georgia is in trouble after that fumble gives Bama the ball already in the redzone. I don't think they can afford to go down two TDs. Hell, I'm not sure they can afford to go down two scores and aside from a turnover here on 3rd that's practically guaranteed. -
Russini: Some coaches wanted to bench Young
LinvilleGorge replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh, I think it's pretty obvious the coaches that wanted him benched. The three that are gone. I could easily see Duce saying "Hey, my RBs can't find any room to run because the entire D is up on the line because your QB can't effectively throw more than about 15 yards!" -

They didn't have a choice. Just like they didn't have a choice when they wanted to bench him. Bryce Young is David Tepper's QB and this is David Tepper's team. -

It looked like UGA was gonna run away with it in the opening minutes but they haven't looked good since. -

I said after the firing that the final straw for Reich was that he probably suggested benching Bryce to Tepper. -

Well, Texans are really dumb so you're probably right. -

Texas is #7 and beat #18 Oklahoma State. Bama is #8 and would beat #1 Georgia. That would happen TODAY. They aren't ignoring that because of a game that was played in early September and that'll be the exact reasoning they use. -

Bama and FSU both winning would be a nightmare for them. The easy thing for them is Bama and FSU losing that way they can do Georgia, Michigan, Washington, and Texas. I don't see how you can leave out an undefeated FSU team even though everyone knows they can't win it without Travis. And yeah, UGA is gonna be in but how can you put UGA in and leave out Bama if they're the SEC champ? Then how can you leave out Texas as the Big 12 champ when they beat Bama. It becomes a cluster fug fast if Bama and FSU win. -

You are high as hell if you think the SEC is getting left out. This game decides whether one or two SEC teams go. -

Texas is definitely not rooting for Bama. UGA is going regardless of the outcome of this game. -

That should've been an INT. That would've been huge for Bama. -

Texas gonna be rooting hard for UGA right now. The committee is gonna be rooting hard for Louisville over FSU. If FSU wins I don't know how you leave out a top 4 undefeated P5 team, but in reality you know that FSU's chances died with Jordan Travis' knee. -

While talking about how CU ain't gonna be an ATM (while also begging for the donors to step up to fill his NIL coffers). Hate to break it to folks but the portal is basically college free agency. The sought after players are going to the highest bidders. Last year's team was built out of the portal too and they won four games. A lot of folks are overlooking that little nugget. -

I'm honestly not big on Penix as an NFL prospect. He throws a really floaty ball that hangs in the air. That's gonna be a problem in the NFL. I think his arm is better than Bryce's but honestly not by much.

I think he means that Tepper holds onto "his guys" and rewards them.

Young's mechanics and fundamentals are awful. But they were awful at Bama too. Everyone just overlooked it because of the results and evidently spent zero time and effort pondering whether or not it would translate at the NFL level. It's bizarre to me how draft prospects (QBs in particular) get nit picked to death leading up to the draft every year but this 5'10" noodle armed guy with horrible footwork gets rubber stamped as a super processor and everyone just overlooked the glaring deficiencies and issues.

I have no idea what to make of this. Where is this? Who are these people? What is going on here? $300 for what? So many questions. Zero answers.

One thing that Tepper needs to take ownership of is that he was very proudly boasting about how they were bringing in a PG of a QB who could spread the ball around lessening the need for true playmakers on offense and freeing up money to be spent elsewhere. Now he's frustrated and firing people because his PG looks like trash making no mention of the reality that they fully planned on the PG lifting up the rest of the offensive roster. He either came up with this idiotic plan or the GM who came up with it is still in place. Either way, it's ultimately on Tepper.
