  1. I gotta figure out a business model where I can get the government to force people to pay me and then work overtime to provide the shittiest service to my customers that I can possibly get away with. That's good work if you can get it.
  2. It would be different if he had been showing any signs of high level NFL talent. Plenty of young QBs struggle. It's hard to read NFL defenses. It's hard to adjust your decision making to account for faster, smarter DBs breaking on the ball. A lot of times you're playing on a bad team, behind a bad OL. But Bryce just flat out doesn't look like he belongs in an NFL field and it's getting worse, not better.
  3. There was a wicked line of thunderstorms that came through. Super narrow. They were probably only 20-30 miles long but they were lined up like a freight train. Some areas just got pounded night before last into yesterday then this. That's where the worst localized flooding is gonna be. That small strip that took the double dose.
  4. Well, I don't know what the fug that was but it sounded like distant rumbling thunder for a solid minute and felt like a small earthquake. We may have just had a tornado nearby. Power has been out for about three hours now.
  5. It was never going to be anything like Hugo. That storm made landfall way nearer so the wind inland was far more intense. This is a mountain flooding event from the rainfall from the remnants of large hurricanes. Hugo hit Charlotte still a legit hurricane. It's definitely the highest Wilson Creek has been in the past year but far from a historic event here locally. At an even more local level, we bought our house about three and a half years ago. I'm honestly not certain this would qualify as a top 5 flooding event during that timeframe in my 12 acre microcosm based on the flow of our small creek. You know it's a good one when the creek is flowing into the pond so hard it gets the whole 1/2 acre pond swirling like a whirlpool. That's happened twice. We're not even close to that right now. The visual flow of the creek is only reaching about halfway across the pond currently.
  6. We bought our house about three and a half years ago and honestly based on our small creek, I'm not even sure this ranks as a top 5 flooding even in that timeframe for my tiny little 12 acre microcosm. You know it's a good one when the creek is pumping so hard into the pond that it causes the entire half acre pond to whirlpool. That hasn't happened yet with this storm.
  7. Religiously? Hell no. But I'll throw on a Panthers hat on occasion.
  8. My Giants fan buddy is getting frustrated by Burns' Jack of sacks. I'm told him not to worry, they'll come... when they're out of the playoff running and likely in games they're trailing by 2+ scores. That's when Burns shines brightest. Fighting for your playoff lives? He'll play every snap and not even show up in the boxscore.
  9. Attempting a 58 yarder up 5 with 30 seconds to go is colossally stupid. Ended up not mattering but getting a great field position near midfield was basically the only prayer NY had all for the mere advantage of going up 8? They already had to have a TD. A punt bets you at least 20 even with a TB and probably takes 7+ seconds off the clock. Not to mention that the low trajectory of a near 60 yarder makes the likelihood of a blocked kick much higher. Dallas losing on a blocked 58 yarder they didn't even need would've just been *chef's kiss* LOL
  10. I'm glad Asheville is on the other side of the divide. That way all the trash and needles that get washed downstream won't end up here. I'm joking but not really. LOL
  11. There were about a dozen bucket trucks staged at the gas station at the end of the street. Plenty of room there, guess they're just gonna hang out there and wait for the calls to start coming in.
  12. fug it. I'm done rooting for tanking. Not like it's done us any good. Someone who can't play a lick will wow Tepper at dinner anyway.
  13. There's no way this will be worse than 1916. That was two back to back hurricanes within a week. The second one dropped upwards of 20" in a 24 hour period on already completely saturated land and swollen streams. That's the one that wiped out the town of Mortimer on Wilson Creek. Wilson Creek crested at 94 feet through the gorge. This will probably be the worst flooding in the last 20 years or so though. It ain't nothing to sneeze.
  14. Obviously the Florida gulf coast is going to take the brunt if it but here in Panthersdom this is looking like a potential biblical flooding event for southern Appalachia. We had a big line of heavy thunderstorms come through last night and a lot of streams were already at flood levels, now a drenching hurricane behind that. They're saying Lake James will hit it's highest point ever. They're expecting it 10' over the spillway. It's already spilling over.
  15. I think you're a little overzealous to be honest. Andy had a great game no doubt but there were also 2-3 dropped INTs. The Stat line could've ended up looking a lot different.
  16. Some of y'all done forgot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_no5YnIrAb4 Listen to the sound when it hits Dickson's hands. Like a baseball catcher's mitt popping. That was an insane catch too. And he threw it while falling back, not even stepping into it.
