  1. I'd love to be a fly on the wall. Would anyone be surprised if Bryce was basically Tepper's pick then the coaches implored Tepper that he needs to sit while they overhauled his mechanics while Tepper refused to hear it until he finally just fired them? I certainly wouldn't be.
  2. Jokes is just awful. At least Bryce has the rookie excuse. Wilson still flashes elite talent, he's just terribly inconsistent and has a ton of disaster plays to boot. He probably still has a higher probability of ultimately working out than Bryce does though if I'm being honest.
  3. I know about a month ago his longest completion was a 48 yarder and he had a 49 yard pick six so you're probably right.
  4. Mac Jones and Zach Wilson are probably the only QBs who have been worse off the top of my head.
  5. We didn't have an opportunity for any of those since our pitcher has a 45mph heater.
  6. Browning balled out. The guy was on the money all night long. Hell, Chase had a blatant drop on a 3rd down for one of his few incompletions. The Jags backup went 9/10 himself and had a downfield pass into traffic under pressure that was called back due to the RT holding that would've been Bryce's best highlight of the year.
  7. This. He looks awful this year but given the investment in him and lack of a 1st rounder this year he's getting another year. So hopefully a new staff and retooled roster can help him get to where he needs to be. But if he doesn't look a whole lot better very early into next season it's gonna be time for the powers that be within the organization to realize we made a massive mistake and it's time to reevaluate the future of the QB position.
  8. It's a big part of how he overcame his height issues at Bama. Keep dropping back until you can see the field. Unfortunately that puts more pressure on your OL because it gives edge rushers a clearer pathway and they close a lot faster in the NFL than they did in college.
  9. When Bryce starts to scramble he puts on the blinders more often than not. When he scrambled in college he was scrambling to throw and kept his eyes downfield. It feels like he's scrambling for survival in the NFL. Maybe the pass rush pressure has gotten to him or maybe he's just not as comfortable scrambling in the NFL where these guys are running him down and catching him. Next year will answer a lot of questions. Hell either work his ass off and show that he can overcome his issues or he'll look like he doesn't belong on an NFL field again. Hoping for the former but I'd get on the latter.
  10. Jake Browning 32/37 for 354 and a TD. The Bengals are dumb for having played Burrow so badly hampered early this season. Browning would've been a better option than Burrow was as limited as he was. CJ Beathard 9/10 for 63. With a 40+ yard deep ball called back due to a hold. Both of those backup QBs looked a lot better than Bryce.
  11. CJ Beathard plays for the Jags. In just a handful of plays he had what would've been Bryce's best play of the year, albeit it was called back due to a hold but it was a helluva contested downfield throw.
  12. Add CJ Beathard to the long list of QBs who look better than Bryce this year.
  13. Trevor Lawrence might have just broke his leg.
  14. Wow. The Jags just turned what should've been an easy Bengals INT into a TD. That's the type of stuff that leads to a pretty unimpressive team being 8-3.
  15. If it means Tepper is getting rid of his rubber stamp to hire a real GM that he's going to leave alone to do his job then good, but I'll believe it when I see it.
  16. I doubt it. Bill is currently experiencing the deep pain of a seriously physically limited Alabama QB.
  17. A text exchange between my Giants fan buddy and me at half
  18. 19/21 for 261 and a TD is balling hard though. Jake looks damn good tonight.
  19. That Jersey Shore reject also looks better than Bryce.
  20. Jake Browning is a lot better than Bryce Young.
  21. Add former UDFA Jake Browning to the long list of QBs that have looked better than Bryce Young this year.
  22. It really is. I'm all for the kids having more flexibility but the current system is a complete poo show. They gotta meet in the middle. My plan would be to reinstitute the one year sit out rule except for a fairly generous list of waiver opportunities. Stuff I'd be for allowing waivers for would probably include a playing time waiver (percentage of snaps, maybe 50%), head coach leaving, coordinator leaving, position coach leaving, and a family emergency stipulation. And the school also has to commit to a four year scholarship as long as you remain academically eligible. No more of this year to year scholarship BS. I have no idea the legal ability to institute any of the above but something along those lines would be fair IMO.
  23. We looked terrible in the preseason. I was sounding the alarm but got laughed off by the serious fans who know that preseason is completely irrelevant and that we didn't want to show what we had in Bryce and we'd really start kicking ass once the regular season started and we were game planning and scheming it up. Well... I'm still waiting. Now mind you, these same serious fans dismissing our preseason struggles were also spiking the football about how much better Bryce was gonna be because Stroud threw an INT on his first preseason drive.
  24. Then it's a holdout. It is what it is. We put ourselves in this bind when we turned down the Rams' offer. We just have to play the hand that we've dealt ourselves at this point.
  25. I've been a Burns supporter in the past, but you can't give this guy nearly $30M per year. He's just not that type of impact player. We changed our entire scheme and built it around Brian Burns hoping he'd make the leap from very good to elite and he reverted to good. Whole still being awful against the run. I'm in the tag and trade camp.
