  1. If we could stack the box and stop the run we'd do it. You have to be able to do one or the other. But when an opposing offense can just do whatever they want and keep you off balance you're cooked. You gotta be able to take something away from them
  2. I've always liked Fields but the way he's been playing tonight I honestly don't know why the Steelers were in such a rush to get him back out there. After Kyle Allen hit on that 20 yard pass if I was Tomlin I would've gotten word to the medical team to be "very thorough" with this evaluation.
  3. Until you put restrictions on his ability to just simply outspend the competition. He should've bought an MLB team.
  4. It'd be one thing if just the pass rush was lacking but we can't stop the run either. When you can't stop the run and you can't rush the passer you're cooked. That's the whole ballgame on defense. You absolutely can't afford to suck at both.
  5. I always liked Kyle Allen. He's not a long-term answer as a starter but he's a good backup or bridge guy. Honestly, he just made the best throw for the Steelers so far tonight. I would've been tempted to roll with him the way Fields has looked tonight. Though Fields looks reenergized after coming back in
  6. That was the big concern I had about him at USC. He has a tendency to hold the ball forever. Considering our defense that doesn't really matter. We'll let you. Just throw when you're comfortably and good and ready. LOL
  7. Yikes. Bad INT from Dak. Meanwhile, Fields is definitely leaving the door open for the Steelers to turn to Russell Wilson. Defenses are dominating this one.
  8. David Tepper is the disease, Bryce Young is just a symptom.
  9. Our D is probably gonna set some futility records. We went all in on a 5'9" 170 pound QB with a noodle arm because we convinced ourselves he was a football savant and we gutted our roster to do it. Then we got hit by the injury bug on top of that an this is the end result.
  10. Sunday night game about to kickoff. The Carrie Underwood intro has to be the least hype thing in the history of sports.
  11. I would honestly be fine with releasing Mingo and Sanders tomorrow morning. There has to be better options on other practice squads or sitting on a couch somewhere. Those dudes are TRASH.
  12. Probably pretty safe. They've gotten slammed by the injury bug
  13. It's possible. At the rate he's getting hit there's no way Dalton is making it through the season. The OL had played decent up until today but it's hard when you're playing from behind and the other team knows you have to pass and you're fresh out of receivers.
  14. Having competent QB play have us a short term boost but at the end of the day this team sucks. It is what it is.
  15. We'll have fresh new crop of disappointment soon enough. The harvest of disappointment in Panthersdom is always bountiful.
  16. Quite the competitive slate of mid-afternoon games we have going on.
  17. Yeah, we could at least build a better team in the meantime if we intelligently use our resources. Now try to say that aloud without laughing. LOL
  18. It wasn't for lack of effort. We tried very hard. We don't deserve any credit for losing the auction we were absolutely trying to win.
  19. The helicopter traffic really picked up over the mid-afternoon but overall, it's down big time over the past 2-3 days. The private volunteer pilots and helicopters can only keep up their efforts for so long before they have to attend to their own lives and businesses. The amount of government helicopters involved has been really disappointing IMO.
  20. Occasionally someone comes along who breaks the mold but they're almost always mid to late round picks. They found a way to overcome their limitations but they were drafted accordingly. You don't see guys with such glaring limitations go in the 1st round much less #1 overall.
  21. I had numerous issues I talked about to the gleeful mocking of many leading up to the draft. The obvious size issues. The arm strength issue. The lack of plays in his film that translated to the NFL in that he usually had a ton of room in front of him and wide open receivers. His passes were rarely pinpoint accurate. He needed a virtual runway to step up into to generate velocity. I mean, all of it was so obvious in the college play but everyone got caught up in this super football wizkid storyline that they convinced themselves none of it mattered and he'd find a way to make it work anyway.
  22. It's just because the physical limitations were so glaringly obvious. Draft prospects usually get nitpicked to death leading up to the draft, especially QBs. But with this guy you had massive red flags flying high everywhere and they were all overlooked by almost everyone. It's one of the most baffling draft stories I can ever recall.
