I hate the NFL for forcing JR out prior to Snyder. I'm not defending JR I'm just saying that Snyder was a way bigger POS and should've been forced out before JR and that would've saved us from Tepper since the NFL made it very clear that Tepper had already been hand picked as the next one in the clubhouse. And honestly the Teppers would've almost certainly preferred DC over Charlotte anyway.

There's this really cool feature available where you can block individual posters and you won't see their posts if you find their content harmful to the fragility of your psyche. I mean, you can literally moderate the site for yourself! It's incredible! I encourage anyone who thinks there are trolls to utilize this wonderful feature for themselves and cultivate their own personalized version of the Huddle instead of just bitching and moaning for the mods to please save them from harmful differing opinions.

As it should be. Who wants some heavily moderated site that only approved talking points are allowed? We have a really short list of "rules" and other than that pretty much anything flies. Too many people view any view opposed to their own as "trolling". Like really? People are so fragile that encountering a differing opinion automatically means the person isn't serious? What a terribly warped and narcissistic worldview.

To clarify, I said he was my 1A and Stroud was my 1B and that it would ultimately come down to the interview process that were obviously not privy to.

The moral of the story is that the Jets and Browns are our best NFL comps. That's what David Tepper has turned us into. Perennial bottom dwellers.

I'm not gonna plant a flag and go around bragging about having a better ran organization than anyone considering we've lost more games than everyone since Tepper has bought the team and it looks like we may have let two franchise QBs slip through our fingers when we literally had them on the roster. That recent Jets story about Madden awareness ratings was pretty damn hilarious but let's be honest, substitute Johnson and the Jets for Tepper and the Panthers and would literally anyone have been the least but surprised? LOL That was the primary point of this thread. The Bryce stans get all defensive but it was a lot less about Bryce and a lot more about just the utter mismanagement of this organization under David Tepper. Bryce isn't the disease he's just yet another of the litany of symptoms.

Less dumping on him and more dumping on the organization in that we actually had two pretty good NFL QBs on the roster and gave up on them to turn around and go all in on drafting a guy who pretty clearly had subpar NFL talent expecting him to be able to carry a roster that was going to be seriously hampered by the trade capital we had to part with to acquire him.

He had two good drives. He looked like trash the rest of the game.

This is the narrative you're creating. The environment argument is valid. 100% for sure. But the point I'm making here is that Darnold and Mayfield didn't have raw talent issues. The issues with Bryce's talent level are all still there. He's doing a better job of doing what he can to compensate where he can but he's still a marginal NFL talent. You have to have a perfect environment to make that work. In other words, you need the system and the team to carry that guy. Like Purdy in SF. We're basically still sitting here hoping and praying that Bryce can be Brock Purdy. Bryce probably has better mobility but Purdy has a better arm. Still below NFL average but better than Bryce's.

The way you act you'd think it was a Joe Burrow situation where he was putting up MVP type numbers but we were still loosing, meanwhile he and we are at or near the bottom of the league in practically every passing category. You are deluding yourself out of sheer hope. I still hope Bryce proves me wrong but you spiking the football acting like it's already happened isn't even funny anymore it's just sad to watch at this point.

Physical vs mental. There's a chance the latter is fixable. The former isn't. There's a reason why old coach sayings like "you can't coach height" or "you can't coach speed" exist. It's because they're true. You might be able to coach someone up from a technique perspective and from a mental perspective but you can't fix a fundamental lack of talent. That's why the old saying "those who can't do coach" exists. It's weird this needs explaining.

You were simply arguing that the receiver should've done a better job trying to fight through the DBs to make the catch. I just don't think you're following the logic. I think I've laid it out pretty clearly. All three sucked (suck) here. Darnold is a prototype physical talent but seemed to have incurable mental issues. Baker checked the stature and athleticism boxes and has a big time arm but just seemed too erratic. Bryce oftentimes simply doesn't look like he physically belongs on an NFL field both from a size standpoint and physical traits standpoint. These are very different situations.

Absolutely false. Performance on the field does not equal raw physical talent. And it's absolutely false that I'm obsessed about size and arm strength. I've said repeatedly over the years that ideal size and arm strength gets QBs over drafted more than anything else. But you have to check the box. With today's more spread offenses and shotgun formations ideal size is less important than it was on the past but arm strength still matters. You don't have to be Josh Allen but it's a really tough row to hoe when you're Bryce Young.

Accurate in a talent vacuum but no one was questioning Mayfield and Darnold's NFL talent.
