  1. Also, for recipe translation sake, I have to assume that "like 4 people" probably translates to roughly half of a typical American portion.
  2. Arizona just reported a new record high for them of 4878 new cases over the last 25 hours. Even more alarming, 28.3% of their tests came back positive. Damn near a third of the tests they're performing are positive.
  3. Oh hell yeah. I'm making that poo tonight.
  4. I said positive rates are increasing. That is factual. I didn't say positive rates are increasing from all-time highs. These aren't difficult concepts, man.
  5. LOL. Take another look at the graph and the current trend.
  6. No. It absolutely isn't. If that was the case, percentage of positives would be rapidly declining. They're actually increasing in a lot of areas despite more testing.
  7. We're way too interconnected with interstate commerce. That's why we need widespread efforts. Local efforts aren't enough. The vast majority of the cases genetically trace to the original NYC outbreak. Unfortunately, the virus doesn't understand or respect man-made barriers like state lines.
  8. Look at their current case counts versus ours though. Our athletes have a much higher chance of exposure and infection simply because there's a lot more virus in circulation here than there.
  9. I'm not sure what posting about these anecdotal one offs is supposed to accomplish or prove. We've already had the "prevention isn't 100% effective" argument. Meanwhile,
  10. Honestly man, you've already exhibited a lack of understanding of "the numbers". Does it matter if it's a 2-3 week lag or a 4-5 week lag? Who cares what a "couple different guys" say? That's why we largely rely on consensuses. All the graphs and numbers are changing? Ya don't say! It's almost as if we only have a few months of data to work off of. I keep bringing up masks because 1) they're highly effective. 2) they're of minimal inconvenience. 3) Because some of you are acting like there's mass hysteria and widespread outcry for lockdowns and extreme measures when that's not the case. It seems like those who criticized the lockdowns and wanted other methods in reality simply wanted to do nothing and go about life as usual and take an "if they die, they die" approach. It's ironic that a lot of those who I see wanting to take that approach check a lot of boxes on the high risk checklist.
  11. Simple face masks and basic social distancing are very effective means of preventing the spread. That's it, that's all. No hysteria. No lockdowns. No BS. It's well past time for those who don't want to take simple steps to prevent the spread of this disease that is very dangerous to certain segments of our population to suck it up and think of someone other than themselves and their selfishness for prioritizing a small inconvenience for themselves over the lives of others.
  12. My mom wanted to go out to eat last Friday after the governor's mask mandate went out. We agreed to go out and sit on the patio. All the restaurant staff were wearing masks... around their chins. We just got up and walked out.
  13. This is good news. The quickly fading antibodies definitely had me concerned, both from a herd immunity and vaccine standpoint.
  14. Being dense? Yeah, you are.
  15. You're the only one talking about Trump right now. All of my posts you've been responding to have been talking about pure data and expert opinions. You're telling on yourself a bit invoking Trump. *My bad, forgot about my Trump comment on that previous post. Working on about five different spreadsheets of number crunching right now because that's a big part of what I do. It's why I focus so much on number crunching whether we're talking football or COVID.
  16. Ain't that the damn truth. Mask wearing in CO was very high, but it sure seemed like on the occasion you'd see someone not wearing a mask, the looked like they likely checked every risk factor box on the list.
  17. Simply suggesting that people wear masks and practice social distancing (which is by far the most prevalent messaging out there) is far from "hysteria". Shutdowns aren't warranted IMO. The data shows that wearing simple face masks and practicing social distancing is VERY effective.
  18. Listen, we get it. For some of y'all, it won't matter if a million are dead. We'll be hearing about how that's well under 1% of the American population and it's still no big deal and still just a librul hoax to hurt Trump. It's interesting how the crowd that accuses the people who actually understand how to interpret data of only being emotionally driven.
  19. Remember what I said about trends being very relevant?
  20. If they were still sucking they wouldn't be.
  21. Both sources you're quoting with the 1/3 number are talking specifically about ICU, not general hospitalization. The CEO of the hospital was quoting general hospitalization numbers.
  22. Trends are very relevant in terms of pandemics. I'm definitely not defending NY or NYC in any way. They did a terrible job. But, they're currently trending the right direction. The likes of Florida, Arizona, South Carolina, etc. definitely aren't.
  23. Look at the graph. Those numbers were from a week and a half ago. 50% isn't far off from 60% anyway. I have to imagine the CEO of the hospital likely has more up to date info at his disposal regarding his hospital than the media.
  24. I'm not even sure what you're trying to say here.
