  1. Having Marty Hurney rave about a 1st round grade on a 2nd round pick is the kiss of death. Having him trade up in the 2nd for that "1st round talent" is the nail in the coffin. Greg Little never had a chance. He had way too much jinx on him to overcome.
  2. They might. Or they could hang onto him for another year then trade him after that. It won't shock me if ATL goes QB and it won't shock me if they go another route and try to give it one more go with Ryan. But their cap situation and new staff honestly makes me think that QB is more likely than not. It's gonna be hard to build the type of roster they need to build to make one last push with Ryan given their cap constraints.
  3. That was his problem in the draft. Everything was hit or miss. We couldn't build an overall roster because there was no roster filler available. Those good backup types and serviceable starter types that other teams typically find in the mid to late rounds. He always swung for the fences and when you do that you're going to strike out and hit a lot more pop flies than home runs.
  4. Cam had rotator cuff issues. Wilson had a labrum tear. They're not at all similar.
  5. This is the type of 1980s thought process that I hope are barely visible in the Panthers' rearview mirror.
  6. Missing on literally everything else other than 1st round picks clearly sets us back for years too.
  7. We were always a Jekyll and Hyde organization. Capable of brief glimpses of greatness but also capable of atrociousness spurred on by idiotic decisions. The Bills and WFT are going to let us see both side of that bipolar former organization play itself out.
  8. I'm 50/50 on this. Half of me says I can't believe Ron is this damn stupid and committed to staying within his comfort zone of familiarity. The other half of me says how could I be so stupid not to completely see this coming. Ron gonna Ron.
  9. He threw for more TDs this year in 10 games than Teddy has ever thrown in a season. Teddy's career INT percentage is 50% higher too. I'm not sitting here arguing that Trubisky is the answer, but he's better than Teddy. Teddy turns it over more often while throwing for less TDs.
  10. Yeah. Trubisky looked better than Teddy.
  11. Specifically referring to the "one of the worst starting QBs he'd ever seen" comment. Trubisky is better than Teddy. Easily.
  12. Did you catch any Panthers games this year?
  13. I was advocating trying to trade for him last year when they were pursuing FA QBs to compete with him. But with Teddy to hit us for $20M next year even if he's cut, I don't like the idea of adding another mid-level type FA QB. Between the hit from Teddy and paying Trubisky, we'd basically be spending elite QB money in terms of cap but without having an actual elite level QB. I would've rather tried to trade for Trubisky than give Teddy that contract, but what's done is done. We're basically down to the long shot of trying to trade for Watson or relying on the draft.
  14. I was hoping we'd have Hunter Long. Dude can play. Not a jaw dropping athlete, but he's just a good football player. Runs great routes and catches anything near him.
  15. That NFL teams rip up and throw away every year at their convenience.
  16. They have to clear a TON of cap. I think that N.O. roster is gonna look a lot different next season.
